Small cookie or chocolate tin containers are very useful for protecting pen, pencils, etc. I carry a small Star Wars rectangular tin box for art supplies like brushes, pencil pastels, oil crayons, etc. small items that could break easily. I also have a very nice silicon pen case that is very easy to clean. I love your shoulder bag but the price is way, way too expensive for me. Luckily, I have a fantastic multifunctional American Eagle canvas shoulder bag for all my stationary and art needs!

Zip lock bags for everything that can leak (like not just stationery) and I wrap things that could be damaged inside clothes in the suitcase. Never put anything you don’t wan’t stolen or is breakable and pricy in stow away luggage…I’ve watched how they throw those suitcases around! I carry my Hobonichi Cousin in a zippered case, and have the cover on cover on it everywhere (I have a big “Mary Poppins Bag” purse, lol) and keep things in zipped bags (not necessarily waterproof, more for organization…but I’ve had my eye on that Mitte lavender bag in bag…) I’m the person who ruined two MacBook Pro’s (one of which was only 2 months old) by spilling my ever present Diet Coke into the keyboard (twice) so I try to be careful. Beware hand sanitizers in your bag, some can pop open easily…I guess everything is sanitized, tho!!

My tip is to have a pencil case or mini purse that fits all your stationery. Multi pens and compact tools are cool and must have when curating your own EDC. It’s important to have a quality stationery especially when you bring it outside as elements can impact how they work.

From an unfortunate experience: Do not take a cartridge fountain pen on the airplane with you…unless you want everything else in your purse to be covered in ink.

you can wrap it in a plastic wrap or ziplock bag and put it in your pen case unless you want to use it on the plane!

My writing is always on the go. Everything goes in an army canvas messenger bag. A clear plastic boxed clipboard, and plenty of A5 slim notebooks. Galen Leather pen cases with fountain pens. A Traveler's Notebook, Rhodia notepad, and Girologio Grab & Go. Cleaning wipes for cleaning surfaces.

Have you considered using ink vials to transport your ink and pens separately when flying? Keep the vials in a sturdy plastic bag that's airtight. This way, you're not traveling with a lot of ink in your pen
Also, there's a podcast I watch where they've flown overseas with their fountain pens inked up, with no issues as long as they have airtight sealing caps, like the preppy. I've not had the opportunity to try this myself, but it's worth a shot. 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@TJulieta Ah but that doesn't work when I'm buying entire bottles of ink thanks to the opportunities overseas, thanks for the ideas though? Maybe i'll just bring a horde of preppy's and ink them all up 🤣

for a retractable mechanical pencil, I recommend the Pentel Graphgear 1000, it's a very professional grade pencil that always writes well, is extremely well built, and feels good in the hand, but you can also retract the entire front of the pencil inside the aluminium body for traveling.
It's not the pencil I use at home (I use a Spoke-4) but it's my go-to for traveling.

I'm a fan of Rickshaw Bagworks, whose 2-pen coozy is the perfect EDC for me. My notebook, size and weight notwithstanding, is the Leuchtturm1917 120gsm hardcover. Everything goes in my canvas tote, with a sturdy plastic bag to protect it from the weather.

There are dozens maybe hundreds of tech pouches you can find online. Many of them make great pen/pencil cases especially for travel. Some are great for mixing your tech gear like cables and charging needs and writing supplies into one easy to use pouch when you're going away.

I EDC a Rite in the Rain No.1537 3x5 inch pad and a Rite in the Rain Pokka pen or Zebra F-301 Compact modified to take a Fisher Space Pen refill. I might bring a larger note pad for a long trip, like the Rite in the Rain No. 371FX 4.625 x 7 inch notepad or similar for a larger page. Any pencil .9mm or larger for field use is perfect. I sweat a lot outdoors so even when it's not raining, I need paper and pen that can withstand me, if not the elements.

I prefer carrying 2mm Staedtlers or 1.3mm Kokuyo lead holders. They offer a lead thickness comparable to a wooden pencil and sharpen to a fine tip without mess using either the Staedtler Tub sharpener or the Faber Castell lead pointer.

ive just been raw doggin my earthbound a5 cover everywhere lol, maybe i should get the cover-on-cover or smth. but i usually walk around w/ a backback, so my A5 for journaling, a basic college ruled notebook for writing ideas, my sun-star pencil case, and a mechanical pencil w/ a eraser attached to it is all i bring for stationary. back when i was in school i would also carry 4 pens and a mini-ruler.

When I was outside more, I definitely loved having a main multipen with the most common colors I used. A tiny notebook like these are also so handy, tho my personal preference is a passport tn since you could have any sort of refills you want, AND it can be a wallet!
The midori clear covers are also one of my favorites, since it’s a standard size and fits a lot of things, including some localized manga. I’ve noticed it doesn’t fit seven seas books tho unfortunately.
The mitte bag in bag is another one of my favorite things to own. I got the b5 in gray when it first came out, and only having to move that when I change bags has saved me so much trouble 😭😭 I don’t carry around that much, but it’s still nice that my shit doesn’t go everywhere on my bag. I just use the clear pockets on the outside to showcase merch like an ita bag.

How about a horizontal a5 ish size pad? The older I get, the more sprawling my writing gets. I also use graphite pencils more, so like a good wee eraser. Still looking for the perfect combo of eraser cap, sharpener, pencil. KUM makes a cap/sharpener of high quality, but doesnt post very well while writing. So I struggle with too many small tools, but it's a nice struggle 😂

I have a midori md A5 with the paper original cover and the band pencase. My only gripe is the pencase’s size, it’s too small for all the things I want to carry! I carry a blackwing matte that is finally short enough to fit the pocket, a kuretake no.8 on the outside sleeve and a couple of pigmas inside. If you like the pentel brush pens instead, the outside pocket fits a single color brush and the zipper inside fits the pocket brush as well, so you get to carry 2 brush sizes, and maybe a single pencil and fineliner as well.
AND YES, I carry this thing in my hand! My country is too hot for coats so no big pockets, and my backpack is way too big to just carry a notebook lol.

  • @ItoeKobayashi
    @ItoeKobayashi หลายเดือนก่อน

I love having a tiny notepad in my pocket at all times when I'm out and about! Being able to write down info as soon as it comes at me is essential for managing my terrible short-term memory. I love taking out the used sheets at the end of the day and logging any new info on them into the relevant notebooks at home, as it forms a natural review session. The only downside is that I seriously beat the notepads up and they tend to fall apart before I finished using them. For a long time, I thought this meant I should get the absolute cheapest you can get and not cry about it when it's time to move to a new one, but seeing the Patto Memo has me wondering if I've been going about this the wrong way... might be time to try something stronger.
