Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break, just like it can be good in a relationship to not be together all the time. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell. That leads my dark mind to believe that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on the way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are talking to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature. I can also imagine they are building an ark to take plants and animals to another planet. It would make sense with some of the scenes in the MV. As you can see, my theory is not perfect. I also do not know why all three titles are in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...) Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy! I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!
