That lady from the Robert Dosineau photo made the news recently. She passed away at 93. Tells you how far back street has persisted as a genre.
The shot was posed.
I'm so relieved there are youtubers like you that just make such good and helpful videos. Even if someome doesn't have a lot of knowledge about cameras and photography yet, that they can still understand your videos and learn a lot from it, the most important and efficient facts too. I feel like in a lot of videos for beginners the creators can't really explain it well or use words that beginners can't even know yet but for you that's never the case, thank you!
Thank you for all your great videos. Happy New Year!
Thanks pat! So helpful! Adrienne does most of the photos for and mostly landscape stuff and I do the video but really starting to get into street photography. Can't wait for the next few videos on this subject.
Thanks for this wonderful walkthrough/tutorial. It really helped me solidify my lens choices.
Thanks Pat, that was very timely info. I've just ordered a Canon 32mm f1.4 APS-C lens as I often shoot at this focal length and want a faster lens. Also ordered a 10mm fisheye just for fun. Your great video skills and knowledge are very much appreciated. The best to you for 2024.
Great video. Clear and very useful information, Pat
I often take my 18-135 kit lens out to give me the flexibility of shooting at different focal lengths.
My current everyday setup is an Olympus 18-180mm (36-360mm equiv.) 4/3 lens on a Lumix G9. I'll change to m43 primes and zooms if I need fast autofocus or something specific(usually 50, 85 or 400mm equiv.)
I love it! Thank u!! Now a How To Choose The Right Lens For Landscape Photorgaphy 🥰
Thank you very much
Are you planning on doing another livestream soon? I've rewatched all of them multiple times already 😂
Been really enjoying my Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 50mm f/2 Aspherical.
I feel more equipped heading out to do some of my own street photography. Thanks for the video, Pat! Btw, where did you get that hoodie?? I like the style
Thank you very much for this video. You confirmed that with my 16-35 GM lens I’m good.
I currently use a Fujifilm with the 16-50 mm lens for street photography, it's just perfect for me
Thank you so much for the information you shared with us, it was great and helped me out immensely! I have a 70-300mm zoom, do you think that would be useable or should I stick with my 50 mm 1.8 prime?
Love the RX100 point and shoot. I’ve used it for years.
Very nice content brother ❤
i really love this video, but not i'm even more confused than anything :) Currently using an r6 with some prime lens for my family candid photos, but thinking if i should just get a standard f4 zoom for family photos and prime f1.2 for when i want to bokeh everything, or standard f2.8 zoom, first world problems :) with kids, i haven't done much street photography, but will get back into it soon!
My all time favourite > 70-200mm
I think with a Sony 16-35 & Tamron 70-180 You can achieve a very diverse "look" in street photography... also fits in a 6L sling bag... Although I love the look of my Sony 35 GM.
❤
New apartment / studio tour pls :D
For me, the 30mm 1.4 on aps-c is perfect.
What are your thoughts on the 85mm 1.4 GM vs 85mm 1.8?
Noticed quite few images shot on RX1Rm2. Do you still use that camera?
👍
Any plans on making photography videos this year?
One aspect still not clear for me. Do you have a plan when you going to go outside or you rely on fortune?
If it is a plan it is easy to choose a prime lens.
If it is unknown area or I don't really know what I am looking for I would happy to have 18 - 200mm on my APS - C.
The problem is fast zoom lens are terribly expensive (
Hiiiii❤ Sir
Im too scared for street photography 😭 but im so curious about it 😮
the only way to improve is to start. there is no perfect timing, there is only consistancy
Im on the fence of buying the 85mm GM, but I already know that 1 week after I buy it, Sony would release the 85mm GMii. I guess I will wait, lol.
The sigma 85mm is a great lens for a lot less money.I went for that and have no regrets.
While I really appreciate these video about lenses and composition, I think a really key thing is understanding the edit. Hear me out. Just as you spoke about visualizing the shot in the focal length, I also visualize what the shot will look like in my editing style. There are compositions I see in your style that just don’t look as good with my style (or knowledge) of editing so I just don’t bother to take certain shots. Example the softness of the tones Or the tuning of the contrast and color. All in all I’d love to see more editing videos from you. I think the “pat kay” editing style is just as important as the compositions for me. Just my 2 cents lol
Have a great 2024.
Frist
The biggest problem I have is finding that “perfect” bag for the streets…..
I use peak design 3l this limits my hunger to take more than 2 lens ;) mostly I take one.
Sponsored by Sony??
