    Well this is original- I had seen, through my own research, some of the history of Ren's dad and mum, but it's fantastic to have it all put together- well done!
    I think Ren chose his parents well before he came here for his "Mission" 😉

    Thanks Lene..i agree with the observations you make about the positive effects creativity in families. Sad when this is sometimes missing. Just having an appreciation of music, film, etc can be enough. Parents don’t need to be artists or musicians to expose their kids to the positive effects of music or storytelling.

    • @LeneLarsenNorway

      Thank you, Martin, for taking the time to leave a comment and for sharing your agreement on the positive effects of creativity in families. It is indeed sad when creativity is absent in a family dynamic. However, I do believe that anyone can tap into their creativity and incorporate it into their lives, with or without support from their family. Though, I must say, people who are introduced to making music as children are just extra lucky ;)

    • @LeneLarsenNorway
      @LeneLarsenNorway  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally! Inner strength is for sure a thing, but there are limits to what many of us would suffer before we'd brake in one way or another. Support is hugely important, and if we were not given these conditions early in life, we need to seek that support elsewhere.

    • @Veeliscious

      Absolutely. When I feel so much for Ren and what he went through, my mind turns to all the others suffering similar who have not had the benefit of that support and awareness. Truly heartbreaking trying to imagine that world they're having to exist in

    Hi Lene,your analogy of the video is spot on, it shows your awareness and the way your mind sees intelligently these situations. I see the behaviours of those youths in the short video, is exactly the criteria that is 'Wetiko' the mind virus, it is highly contagious with the 'egging on' (encouraging the violence) behaviour pattern shown in the video. Sociopathic tendencies stirring the driver of the car to enact their violent tendencies and then shaming him so they can relinquish any guilt or shame, total projection of accountability. There are many areas here in the UK (and the world) with groups of people with these behaviours, I was brought up in the Noth East of England on council estates, and it was very much like the scene in the video and much worse. I love what you said about imagining a world where all had that support and the gifts of how to be aware of our own psychology, self reflection on the darkness within, like you said in such a beautiful way, thank you for sharing your gift of knowledge.

    He's later kinda almost quoting the work of his brother in Bittersweet Symphony Retake when he show a street fight:
    And then he's out... I think he took it too far
    I think the boy saw red, I think he hit him too hard
    Now he's face down on the pavement with a face full of tar

    Have you seen his video "Power"? Not sure it's all roses in is family life. I mean his parents are divorced and there are effects on Ren because of all the drama around that! Anyway, I see what you are saying but Ren certainly has taken everything in his life and put it into his art, for sure.

    • @LeneLarsenNorway
      @LeneLarsenNorway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! I totally agree with you. It's true that Ren has gone through some tough times in his personal life, like many of us do, and those experiences have likely influenced his music. I haven't seen the video "Power," but it's clear that he puts his heart and soul into his art, drawing from his own life experiences. Regardless of what he may have gone through, Ren is undeniably talented and has worked incredibly hard to get where he is today. It's inspiring to see how he's turned his passion for music into a successful career. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    This definitely makes a whole lot of sense. Obviously people from every background can end up anywhere. I will say though it certainly paints a clearer picture of our dear Ren. Moreover it absolutely explains his insane classical piano skills. He is a highly intelligent person and clearly, as most know, that is genetic!
    The bigger thing though is that you I feel, absolutely grasped his father's whole point with that film. Which IS the whole point. At least that is my impression. Making quick little visual aids like that which gives a better understanding of these subjects, in a more concise, and digestible way. That's how you get the message into as many minds as possible. It also shows us the type of morals he comes from and the compassion his father had and I know Ren appears to as well.

      @@LeneLarsenNorwayI'd like to add that working class has different definitions. Some are blue collar, some white. Still working class. Ren didn't involve his family because he wanted to *work* for what ,*he* has & will accomplish. Example, Elle King, Ah-MAy-ZING artist. She didn't use her father's name because she wanted people to like her music because of what she offers, not because she's Rob Schneider's daughter. So, yes, he had the means, he is still working class. I've not heard anything from him that has been deceptive. Great authors/artists are able to place themselves, mentally, in various roles. You see the world as it is, feel what others feel. Open yourself for anything that may come. That takes a ton of mental energy. Honestly, I don't care where he came from, what his family status is. Still cool to know!
      Mad respect for Ren!
      He's help THOUSANDS &&& came into my life at the right time! I was in the depths of hell. The change in my life his music made for me has been massive! I felt the weight lift. I started having faith in myself. So much that I'm making a huge career change.
      The most Ah-MAy-ZING thing is, I never got that from counselors or psychiatrists. I'm no longer on antidepressants! I'm not saying his music is ba fix-all, but he definitely gave me hope & encouragement!
      (Sorry this has been long winded, it's hard to describe & say exactly what I want, but it's Just There!)

      It would be great if you could elaborate your claim.
      Either way, this is a way for me to understand more of Ren, see what he has done previously and what background he has.
      Even if your claim is true and there is not much connection between the two, this doesn't invalidate this piece of content Ren was contributing to in the past!
      However, I do appreciate your comment and your consideration for Ren. When we care about people it is natural wanting to protect them, and I think that no matter the quality of the family bond - which I know nothing of at this time, Ren's family sure has an impact on who Ren has become in one way or another! I wonder why Ren claims to come from a working class background? He seems genuine, and willing to be transparent, so it seems hiding his highly educated and creative background is a bit of an anomaly. Though
    I remember my son saying sadly one day that he realised he didn't have enough hardship as a child to be a rapper..lol.

    • @LeneLarsenNorway
      @LeneLarsenNorway  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree with you that Ren seems genuine and transparent, and I don't think he's trying to hide anything by claiming to come from a working-class background. It's possible that even though his parents were highly educated and creative, they may not have been successful in life in terms of wealth or managing their own internal turmoil. In fact, it's quite common for people who come from creative or intellectual families to struggle with financial or emotional instability. So it's possible that Ren's background had its own set of challenges that shaped him in unique ways. Ultimately, what matters most is the person Ren is today and the message he shares through his work.

    the video wasnt all the great a solid ok... but you doing it was great you doing it is way more important than what some random on youtube feels the quality was saying yes to ideas you may have said no to before because your inner critic is relentless and clever..keep using the process of creating as its own validaton in the release it gives you in creating the form and structure of what your are presenting ..where only you need to see its worth since its creation was born of personal observations and experience...too many of us are doing nothing instead of starting the path of bad to ok to good while keeping personal satisfaction in the work at a premuim...nothing or everything seems to be what that overactive internal critic really wants ....

      Thank you Eric! Exactly! Thank you for these very wise words! I am very glad to read this comment as THIS is what is on my mind these days ALL the time! I am done with nothing! I actually posted this on my facebook today:
      Looks like TH-cam likes my content! 12 hours since posting this video and already 100 watch hours! That is 2.5 percent of the needed amount of 4000 hours in a year to become a youtube partner (and begin to making a living that way!!) In just 12 friggin hours! This video is of course not stopping receiving view hours at this point. It is just starting, like the other videos I have created over the last two weeks!
      I have been so afraid to just f**in go for it ever since I first started making videos in 2008! Each time I had created a few videos, I would eventually just stop making more and make them private! You might think of me as one who fears little and goes for it, but let me tell you, my fears has been keeping me to only living a VERY SMALL percentage og what I know I am capable of.
      I know that my path is to grow in my life through sharing my experiences and thereby helping others grow as well...But I have let feelings of not good enough in addition to fear of failure OR success keep me back. Isn't that weird ?? Fear of success? Let me explain in short ---> responsibility!
      But this circle of starting something and quitting ENDS this year! It has already ended and I am so glad that I am finally taking a leap!
      Do I think this video is awesome? Besides the point! It is AWESOME that I made it and allow my self to post it, knowing I could learn a million things to improve the quality! I show up without make up, probably didn't have a shower this day either - but it is real! it is honest and I can see already that just SHOWING UP will allow me to grow on this channel and learn so much as I continue!

      Hi There. I completely agree with you on that! 💗 In the video I am sharing a moment with you where I dive deeper into The Ren universe because of curiosity and to see where he comes from. Ren is not his father or his mother or his family. We are not our parents, and at the same time we might understand ourselves better when we have a look at the past as well. I am a very investigative person and seeing that Ren's family is creative, makes music, has academic background does not take anything away from Ren and all that he is! He is amazing no matter his background, family or support.
      For me, growing up without a supporting environment for learning musical and theatrical skills, it eases my feelings a little. OK, so I didn't learn it early on, but I can still become good later if I put in the practice! Ren has earned being where he is. He has put in the work, and coming from a family filled with music and creativity, that set him off at an early stage! :)
