He joined Inquisition, fully knowing, that it is a real possibility that someone will find out his secrets, especially since Inquisitor specifically told him that they are looking for Grey Wardens(and they would know immediately that he is not one of them, since he does not carry the Taint... He was just a recruit before Joining). I am not going to tell that he was not an a-hole, but he tried to help where he could and he was obviously haunted by what he has done. TBF, he did not deserve the heat many were giving him. As Inquisitor can put it in one specific conversation, somewhere along the way he stopped pretending and had become better person.
As much as I want Cole to be "a real boy" and I don't think that pain is neccesarily something to avoid, I still feel the dilemma of the choice to the point of indicisiveness, because he sounds at peace. But that's the issue when it's half one, half another, if they disagree, it's either compromise or conflict. I always wish there was a way for him to chose himself instead of being led.
yeah, I get that but part of me feels okay with him looking to others for guidance, he's still pretty young and has his whole life ahead of him to figure stuff out for himself, whether more human or spirit. plus this is one of the few decisions in the franchise where it doesn't feel like there's a bad option, both paths lead to Cole moving on from his anger and in a better state of mind (which feels pretty good in a series where multiple big choices can feel like picking your favourite flavour of poison).
@@felixworthington6880 Never said I wasn't okay with him looking for guidance. I just wish it didn't feel so much like the PC was choosing for him. Yeah I get that, but as someone who doesn't want to compromise on identity integrity, it felt like choosing flavours of poison.
