A flagship sound engine in a budget arranger keyboard. I wish I knew this a year ago.
The portability of this series of keyboards is the greatest thing about them. I've traveled by plane and carried this on the plane in a soft case, no problem. It is gig-worthy and I've done several with it. The feel is easily gotten used to if you are a pianist, and for what it can do and the fact it weighs around 10lbs and you can take it literally anywhere makes it really a unique keyboard amongst keyboards. Battery powered or plug it in. It also isn't so expensive that if it got damaged I would be lost or in debt much. Have your presets stored on USB or in the cloud and all you'd have to do is rent one and you're good. All in all, LOVE this series. The new versions look amazing.
This keyboard is ticking all the boxes
Thanks to Klangfather for lending me this floor model for this episode
🤣 This one goes directly to Florian's show for sure!
@@patrickfitzgerald2861 Direct to Bad Gear Roland Gear lol.
No it isn’t
@@roseutterback5755 🤫 Shh... It is
Nice to see a product reveal with great demo music.
It sounds good. And finally a real Roland and not a rebranded Medeli product.
Love the turquoise, I just wish it was an option for GO:KEYS 5
Malheureusement pour le go Keys 5 c’est juste noir ou blanc
At first glimpse it's ticking all the boxes 😂
😍‘61 key, full size, battery power’ this is a good travel portable piano
Oh WOW this is a great instrument! A real Roland keyboard. Looking forward to all the reviews on TH-cam.
This looks cool! Looking forward to seeing an in-depth demo of layering sounds and how to use the sequencer to record songs. Is it possible to make your own patterns without backing tracks? Thanks!
Now Roland just needs to get Dennis DeYoung from Styx to do a Styx song on this keyboard for a commercial.
With the spinning stand he uses on stage lol
Sounds good, looks nice, I want one!
Roland always ahead of the game
Amazing!
We getting some more Boutiques soon? Been a while.
I love Roland/Boss products. They do make the best stuff (especially for synths) in my opinion. However, their product videos always give me a chuckle. From a marketing standpoint, I’m sure this video will appeal to some, so I get it, but the metacommunication I perceive here is “buy this keyboard and become a cool musician” when the reality is learning music is a hard, albeit enjoyable, process that takes discipline and work - LoL. I’ll probably end up buying it. Hahaha.
Well I ended up purchasing one. Go 3 MU easier to read key labels.
It has a large offer of sounds, with very good quality. You can edit sounds to some extent (ADSR, filter, modulation, pan, effects). Styles are very good and have a modern feel.
New Styles are available for download on the Roland Cloud, but sounds are paid, alas... The build quality is very good, all buttons have a good response. The screen is small, but easy to read and informative. Some menu diving but not overwhelming. The keybed is firm not to springy. All around fun to use. The chord loop function is great, a feature found only on some high end keyboards, and is a very usefull tool for learning. It records midi, and audio (you can overdub previously recorded audio). It would be nice if an audio loop function was implemented like on the Roland VR-09 (you can import a drum loop and overdub with bass, chords, etc.) hours of fun with that feature. All in all very happy.🥰
If Roland makes this table model sound module "GO:RACK", hopefully it would have Roland's traditional pitcbend joystick :)
i really like the color! roland's previous go:keys was an awesome super portable option for amateur keyboard players. florian would absolutely destroy this though lol.
😮 awesome. Looks like Spiderman guy on the synth
What is the speaker output power rating for Go Key 3 and 5? Are the sound quality at least as good as old Roland E-09?
Roland is always the king and is always ahead in production and technology, only one thing has been bothering me for some time (pitch band) why it destroys the originality.
inbuilt bluetooth midi is pretty poggers
Great, we also hope to have a simplified functions, smaller size and weight, cheaper version, thank you🥰
Please keep the full size keyboard, it is good for learning piano, thank you🥰
Wow nice 👌 perfect
J’ai hâte de voir un arrangeur haut niveau chez Roland comme le Korg pa 5x et genos 2 imagine le new Roland AR haut technologie 😊
But crucially, does it have proper Midi out? Too many new keyboards lack midi connectivity and often require connecting to a computer to achieve that or an expensive usb midi host unit. Can it connect to any of the Roland Boutique synths?
That’s a touching video Roland! Home run. Good job. Thank you.
Look another Bad Gear episode.
Does that mean that an improved GO PIANO is coming out soon?
tell me Roland, why would I spend 400€ in this if the FP 10, Yamaha P125 cost the same? and Casio ct s1/400 half of that? please reconsider the price of this wonderful instrument
Well...61 tones compared to an advanced PCM/VA/Supersaw synth engine maybe? This is more than a digital piano. It's a full blown synth.
It s an arranger, not numéric piano...no link at all.
Will wait for the Behringer clone with a knob per function interface xD
Please update Sh-4D 128 steps pattern chaining
I will wait for a real arranger like G70 or BK-9.
Can this save sounds?
How about releasing new plugins for RolandCloud subscribers?!
Can you layer sounds, or is it the same as the gen 1 with only preset layers?
You can layer any two sounds.
Where is the audio out cables ???
Hope i can get it❤
Esse modelo vem pro Brasil?
Does the Go:Keys 3 have an audio output to connect it with a mixer / audio interface or only a headphone-output?
The Go:Keys 5 has an aux input, and dual quarter inch stereo out, and a mic input
The ZEN core engine in a pretty affordable, easy to carry along (and pretty) keyboard? It seems quite interesting. It may sounds naive, but the ad kind of endeared me. I could relate to the fictitious young person when I was learning so much time ago. But then, there wasn't something like this product.
What are those headphones he is using?
Excelent keyboard!
When will it arrive in Brazil?
I dig the color. Am I wrong thinking that it's for people who start with music?
No, that color can be used by advanced musicians.
@@IBoughtItMyself ba dum tss
I'm waiting in India🇮🇳
Okay, I want one. How loud are the speakers?
I have tested both... GO:KEYS3: they sound better than the current line, and GO:KEYS 5 mann..... the passive radiator speakers are pretty fine... they have more low frequencies ... so the bass and drums, sounds even better
@@andreluizkeys thats the info I was lookin for. Thanks bud. I would definitely want 5 but not sure why didnt roland offer same vibrant colors as 3. Go 5 is either black and white :( . Love the new colors in go keys 3.
I guess my question is, “can one actually download zen core patches that one has designed and transmit them to this hardware?” That would actually be quite appealing, snarky “Bad Gear” comments aside. I don’t get the single mod/pitch wheel thingy, but who doesn’t want a fucking teal keyboard?
最高やん👍✨
So this guy bought this keyboard and already learned a song on it :) while it is not even available in stores yet. :)
I love the new engine and features of the GO:KEYS 3 and I want one - except:
I also want the ultra-compact form factor of the original GO:KEYS so it fits comfortably into my tiny bedroom studio
Help me decide
Both boards are 61 full size keys so their sizes shouldn’t differ too much. The Go Keys 3/5 use the Zencore engine and have over 1,000 sounds!! From what I’ve seen the sounds are high quality. And for the price point against the original go keys (of which I own and love), I’d go with the 5, but the 3 is price pointed closer to the original go keys:) 0:29
@PianoMan-hx3ev I ended up going with the original GO:KEYS that I picked up as a floor model at a steep discount. The extra few centimetres really would have been awkward in my tiny bedroom studio, and when I feel the need for thousands of sounds well... that's what my DAW and VSTs are for.
il faut faire vite un upgrade et proposer 10 banques de 5 tones dans le mode Favoris, uniquement 5 tones sélectionnables , c'est un peu limité.
This would be perfect to learn chord progressions while on the road.
ok this look epic but the doubt is if the keybes will follow the sound/function quality and...PRICE please Roland 200$ for the 3 I beg you
😂
499 and 699 😮
better off with casiotones then, I was doubting now but na, bot worthy paying twice the price
Parece um EX-10. Eu amei.
What is this?
Roland 👍👍👍
Finally an affordable arranger that's not sound terrible. Where as Yamaha PSRE still recycles their terrible, shitty early 90s voices from their phase out PSRs. They should learn with Roland on how to make an entry level keyboard. Good keyboard Roland! I think it would be much better if you released a 76 key version of this. I hope Yamaha will up their game in the next PSRE with better sound quality.
too expensive sadly...
The worlds most hated audio tools
very expensive
song title pls
It's called Way Too Easy - Till 🙂
New midi keyboards next please 🙏🏾
🎉🎉🎉
I just cannot believe this even has a JD piano inside, if this look cooler, I’ll sure buy, how come it looks so amateurish 😂
Just bought the GO KEYS yesterday. 😢
Return it. Get the new one.
@@BillVincent don't keep old technology ... if you can return it and get the go keys 3 or 5
Ick, only USB MIDI. Knew it was too good to be true. No way they were going to sell it for $350 without purposely making it bad at something.
cute video
So where can I purchase this?
Try the site
There should be a 25-key version. I can throw a full-size Launchkey 25 or even a weighted Oxygen Pro 25 in a bag in a ton of situations where I'd have to ship a 61-key. I certainly don't want to put a 61-key in baggage unless it's in a 25 lb. road case.
And only USB MIDI? This thing has 2 pedal jacks, 5 audio jacks and 3 USB jacks, but no MIDI. That's bizarre. Now I'm already in workaround mode to plug it into anything but a laptop, and if I wanted to plug it into a laptop I'd be using a controller. The Aira Compacts have better connectivity.
Yeah a 3 octave version with mini keys, like a Reface / PSS A50
I am curious if this can be controlled/played with midi input over blutooth. would be cool to play it with my mpc one + which has blutooth for midi
Unlock your USB functionality more like.
Literally showing us nothing in this video just possible presets ??
The outline is too square. A rounder outline would look better and be safer.
These are the best sounds they chose to advertise? :/
Great idea. Are they weighted keys? If not, L
No... it uses synth action... lightweight keys...
It's a $300 beginner's keyboard, be real
Most synths do not have weighted keys nor do you want weighted keys on a synth. This has piano and synth sounds. Asking for weighted keys on a BUDGET entry level keyboard is absolutely ridiculous
Please, be Roland not Medeli
It has the ZenCore sound engine so yes. It is Roland. But the arranger function is a joke by having nearly everything on the soft keys. I’m pretty sure that if you wish to use this, you might be better off with a similar priced PSR or Casio. Synth sounds are probably better on the Roland.
Toy
I am sure this Guy already knew how to play the piano, anyway good acting at least!
Nice keyboard, ugly music. It is advertised as the keyboard of not musicians😆
crap sounds , nothing natural , only weird plastic sounds,
We don't need more music. We don't need more musicians.
Ever since I got heart problems I haven't been able to bike or hike but making music has helped. Thank you Roland
@@user-ec1wq9os3dThat's fine, just don't post it anywhere.
