    Hi,
    I am an old geezer woodworker, flutemaker who lives in the home I built 45 years ago. Good job. Do bolt it or tie it down. As for your girl helping as long as she isn’t with child she should do what she feels comfortable with. Blessings, young folk. Rand

      Rand Rowe that awesome, I would like to build my family a home one day! The camper is tied down to all four corners of the truck bed. The camper is not really that heavy, I could lift it by myself but the size needs someone on either side. Thank you for your kind comment!

    You've inspired me to make one of those for my Tundra !!! Only my sloping roof will be tall enough to stand up straight in and then will taper down towards the front of the truck. I have to be able to stand up in it or I will lose my mind. Keep up the AWESOME work. !!!

    Nice job! I especially appreciate it being able to accommodate taller people. An earlier comment about the hinges is correct. As is, someone could still gain access to your "stuff". How well has the polyurethane held up when exposed to the weather? I used it on an outside door that had to be stripped and coat with spar varnish the following year. Again, great job. I enjoyed your video. I now plan to build something similar for my small utility trailer, that I can remove when I need to use the trailer for something else.

    Nicely done i know aerodynamics were considered during the build but you should have gone a few inches higher and at the base a few inches wider it appeard to have significant room, this wood have made for a snug fit to much play isn't good someone else mentioned tying it down securely, also a good idea. Overall i enjoyed the build. I always say go big or go home. It's always better to have a couple of extra inches rather then second guessing oneself. Thx for sharing?👍

    Here is a formula to calculate your arc on future projects. I used this when doing gable arches on my home. You calculate the circle based on the length and center height of the arc you want, then set up a giant compass in the driveway with a rope and pencil. Radius of a circle from arc info
    :
    R=H/2 + W(2nd pwr)/8H

    • @gunnyrohn882
      @gunnyrohn882 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course this only works for a uniform arc so may not have helped you on this project anyway. Still, a good formula to keep on hand.

    Your door hinges are reversed. You have no security. All it takes is removing those 4 pins and the door falls out. Hinges are supposed to be inside the door. Check your house and front door for the proper install of door hinges.

    No sir, it's called a dado cut. A kerf is making a similar cut but allows you to bend a board. Great idea using an oscillating saw For the mortise cut. As for stain, try a sample of "Provincial" color stain. It's my favorite. Also, poly isn't your best choice. Next outdoor build you do, use Sparthane. It's formulated for outdoor "poly" use. But please tell me you secured the shell down to the truck. Great job

      Greg Boyer Definitely give the cedar more time to dry completely before mulling it into the ship lap boards to reduce it drying on the frame. I was working on a deadline so I kinda rushed. Maybe make it a little taller for more head room, but I like how aerodynamic it is, doesn’t affect my mpg.
