PLS HELP!!
Vortex venom 1-6 or Arken 1-8 for only $50 more? Pls help me with this, i would really appreciate the replay!!!
Im about to buy one of this and dont know what to do ( i got some rewards points with Arken, that will bring the arken to only $50 extra over the Vortex ones), pls🙏🏻 replay 😂😂 what to get and why?!
Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!🤗🤗🤗🤗😅
Heard poor and I was here in a flash
I have so much poor lpvos now, if I saved I could’ve bought a vcog and mounted it backwards
Buy once very once... Or twice when you get mocked at the range.
same
Yeah well if I was only outfitting one gun, sure, I could justify a baller-priced optic.
But I'm not. I'm trying to outfit a ton of them, and it gets prohibitively expensive real quick. I don't buy a second reasonably priced optic to replace the first, I buy a second reasonably priced optic to put on another rifle.
@@stevem4783 I use the tried and true method of "buy cheap and reliable, but never pass up a good deal on something proven". Buy the cheaper end optics, but if a T2 comes up for like 35% off you jump on it
I bet you have good lpvo’s though and probably work mint because I know I have a few 500$ lpvos and I don’t consider them budget friendly lol maybe its just me though
Focustripp: came for the quality content, stayed for the tasteful soundtrack
Swear to god I enter trance whenever that track from Mass Effect plays. It's so good.
@@peepsbates same. I think the Vigil suite actually drops my blood pressure.
It’s so soothing
Same.
Exactly!!! I have fallen asleep many a time to this track!
Obligatory Thanks Hugo
Thanks Hugo
Thanks Hugo 🙏
Thank you Hugo! With the updated glass quality from Vortex I would be extremely interested to see what they are offering in a MPVO scope such as their new 3-15 FFP in MRAD. It would make a for great combo on a SPR rifle upper build from Focus Tripp Shooting. BTW. I’m not seeing your precision upper receiver listed. I thought it was the one with the 18 inch barrel.
I have heard it's good!
FocusTripp/BrassFacts/Hop: The Holy Trinity of Poor Man Tactical.
High praise.
I don't know how anyone could possibly say hop is a poor spokesman... He has more Gucci than Kim Kardashian.
They one one of the only ones that still keep it real
Vortex is one of the most budget friendly and yet great quality products for even more awesome warranty
Primary Arms is right there with them.
I look at them as non-competitors, but more like contributors to optic market.
They both got unique options for something that costs way more from other companies
Dude this channel is based. This guy doesn’t give a fuck! I’m not seeing any tactical elitism or snobbery or on the other hand poor-mongering. Subbed.
Thank you, Hugo!
Appreciated Hugo!
Thanks Hugo! 😊
Gracias Hugo!
Another great video!!! Thanks Hugo!!!
Great video. I have a couple of Vortex sights and a couple of Primary Arms sights. Also a few SIG Romeos and a Crimson Trace red dot. I like them all. The only LPVO I currently have is a Primary Arms ACSS 5.56 with an illuminated reticle. It’s a couple of years old, and I’m still learning how to use it effectively.
Sounds like this new Vortex Venom LPVO is a good alternative.
Thanks FocusTripp, and thanks Hugo. 👍
Thank you sir!
Thanks Hugo!
Thanks Hugo!!
Should have mounted it backwards like that navy captain who made waves recently
the Strike Eagle was my first LPVO, I still love it.
It's still the best for the $$ IMO
It's not the best anymore but they were find and I had a bunch.
Yup. Have had mine for over 5 years. 100% satisfactory.
Probably the Primary arms Nova. 1-6 daylight bright can't beat it. For the price of the Strike Eagle you could get a Pst Viper 1-6 for around 450 without the mount.
Crossfire 2 1-4 was my first and still think it’s a gem the strike eagle 1-8 is awesome also and swampfoxs lpvos are amazing too
Thanks again always great stuff man!
Thanks Hugo.
Thanks, Hugo, and thank you, FocusTripp, for yet another great review. I own 2 gen2 strike eagles the 1-6 and 1-8, I also own a Viper gen2 1-6 which has been my favorite since it's currently the best I have. I am saving up for the PA PLXC at the moment
me too
I was really hoping for an update to the Viper line. I hope that's coming soon.
I believe that is coming.
@@FocusTrippany idea when? Next few months? Later this year? In the process and still not till next year?
Thanks Hugo. Good review Jon. I've owned one for a few years as my first LPVO. I have better now, but still have the Venom on its original gun and mounts. Not disappointed!
didn't these just come out?
Thank you Hugo!!!!!
I always come to focus tripp for my optic reviews
Thanks Hugie!
Appreciate you Hugo
Love this optic so far. So glad you recommended it! Waiting for an ADM 1.7 to throw it on.
Right on!
Enjoyed the use of the Mass Effect music.
Tankz to Hugo!
Just purchased 2 of these for $209 a piece

I appreciate it man, im happy you from your review
Where’s Hugo?
Thank you sir!
How would you stack this against the Vector continental 1-6x?
Thanks Hugo!
I fell in love with this scope for thebprice and i think it has some featers that are betrer than some mid grade scopes ..... the eye box and fov is so nice for tge price , i was literally baffled when i got it
For $250 this seems like a great deal. I've never been a fan of Vortex scopes, as I've owned 3 and none of them has seemed like a great value compared to my other budget scopes from PA, Vector, Bushnell and others, but I do like my Vortex range finder and spotting scope which I've had for >10 years. I might have to give this one a try.
If you already have a bunch of budget LPVOs I don't think you need to sidegrade to this one.
Lay some knowledge on us, brother. Dang! Your trigger finger just all went hyper speed, on us!!
seemed like an echo trigger, binary.
Echo Sport.
that charging handle in the POV at 1:00 HAS to be a troll
The whole setup is a troll.
I have never used an LPVO and have an extra 16” upper laying around which I have been thinking about getting my first LPVO and slapping a bipod on it. Would you recommend FFP or SFP for my first LPVO?
I think that's a good pairing for one if you want to get into it. I would always recommend a SFP unless you have a specific application for a FFP.
Thanks, Focustripp for singlehandedly boosting the price of the venom by $50 to 299 because of your video
optics planet has it still.
MAP has been 299 since they came out. Big name places will occasionally beat that price with add to cart prices and such
Only have limited rounds with live fire on them, but the glass and features in these for the price is awesome. We cant keep them in stock at our shop. The only issue weve seen out of them so far is we had one that the throw lever screw snapped but thats it. Probably sold atleast 15 or so aince they came out. I do like that this has a resettable zero and the thinner housing over the tango MSR.
Update on the throw lever as well, usual Vortex customer service has one on the way no questions asked
Great stuff as always still rocking the gear I got
Lovely OST. This might be my first LPVO. Don't need anything series. Just a decent optic I can hit far on. Nothing over the top. Or maybe a Sig Tango? Vortex with their warranty is what's got me interested.
I like this more than the MSR.
@@FocusTripp whelp I know what I'm getting!
Thanks Hugo! I might have to trade in my Sig 1-6 now lol
Thanks hugo!
Need a review on this mount too
It's ok, gives you some options.
Mounted slightly left tilt?
I hassled a family friend / Vortex employee just the other day about my preference for the adjustable throw-lever on cheaper LPVO vs the one on my Strike Eagle (G3? I think), and here they come out with their own budget version!!! I should have waited 🙃
I would love detailed photos of what your baffles look like on that yhm can lol
They are actually really good surprisingly.
@@FocusTripp I think they’re better cans than people give them credit for. My buddy has a a T2 with the vented blast chamber and he has a ton of rounds through it. Still looks brand new.
great video and just a suggestion coming from a tactical standpoint. It would be a good idea to place your light to the outside of the rifle. reason is, if you use this rifle as a defense rifle the advisory will aim for the light source given a low light scenario and as you have it to the inside of the rifle the rounds will be targeted to your center mass. like i said though great video and to each their own.
V had to do something PA was smashing the poor man's market
I was under the impression the “up, down, left and right” was the exit pupil, not the eye box. I think if you were going to put it into an equation it would look something like: Eye Box = Eye Relief + Exit Pupil.
Sure, I could be more precise with my wording.
Thanks Hugo.
Have you thought about trying the Crimson Trace Hardline Pro line of lpvos? They have a 1-8x28 im interested in. Would be nice to have a reliable review of it.
I may need to try one.
I really think lpvos are the go to optic for a lot of cases. If their durability improves in the future then they will be even more prevalent
I agree as long as NVGs and CQB aren't your priority.
Another great review!! Hope your enjoying South Dakota. I moved out of Washington a few yrs ago to Arizona. Miss Washington but not the politics/policies.
I have a question.....I saw your recent review of the Arken and you said it was a good value at I think you said $380. I'm looking for a mid range with tree reticle and in the Vortex/Arken range. I see Amazon has the Arken SH4 4-16 for $300.
Do you think that's a good value or should I stick with a Vortex?
Thank you!!
I have heard great things about the Venom 3-15, haven't gotten one yet though.
thank you hugo
Hi focus, would you consider this better or worse than the vector continental 1-6x24?
better and worse....
Thanks hugo
Thanks for the info Sir, and great video too. What would you consider a good QD mount for an LPVO that you would trust but wouldn't cost more than the glass?
Amazon has ADM Recon 30 mm mounts as low as $240 right now.
Its kinda crazy ..I bought 1x6 from CVLife 89$ I think for 22lr and I put it next to a 500$ optic that's 11-12 years old and its better ..its just amazing as tech moves forward .. I mean 120$ pistol dots are ok now ..5 years ago a250$ dot sucked ..so just getting good ..I thought the prism you had from Vector and that's stupid good for 180$ with coupon .. Just a new brave world
Agree, I became a big fan of Monstrum tactical optics within the last couple of years. When it comes to a high end LPVO’s at this time I cannot justify the prices compared to Monstrum.
Thanks Hugo (if you haven't already).
How does it compare to the gen 2 PST 1-6? It sounds like you think the PST has a much better view through it. The pst is probably close to a decade old and can be found for well under 5oo all day long used, so hoping that can get dethroned or maybe a gen 3 pst drops.
We definitely need a gen 3 viper… hoping they also add a 1-8/10 option also.
Gen 3/ update is coming.
The Mass Effect soundtrack, while watching this, reminds me of shopping at the kiosk.
What mount are you using?
Just bought one today. What's the best budget mount you can suggest for it? Or, can I use 2 separate rings?
I would use a 1 piece mount. I actually haven't tried a lot of the super cheap mounts yet.
Was wondering, Which monstrum scope mount were ya running? Would any scope mounts with 30mm tubes work? Vortex 's mounts seem pricey
Any 30mm mount should work. The Monstrum is fine if you aren't planning and jumping into a boulder.
thx hugo
It's good to be the king 🤴
I can see you are getting more comfortable with the trigger 😂. 👍.
Just a little.
I'm looking at this vs the PA SLX Nova 1-6 and I'd be really interested in your thoughts between the two. Specifically the eye box side-to-side and reticle.
Both are pretty good, I don't have them here side by side right now.
Does this beat out the SLx 1-6 Nova in performance (Not considering value).
Also want to know how it compares to the Nova 1-6
What do you want, fiber optic vs BDC, that's the difference.
@@FocusTripp Hmmm...interesting that you would rate them as equal other than personal preference of reticle type. I sort of like the PA's reticle but maybe the Vortex has a bit better clarity. The PA's reticle might be better for distance work (of interest to me) and the Vortex for closer engagements. How does the Swampfox Arrowhead fair against these 2, in particular the MIL reticle version?
Hail 🙌 🔭
Crazy to see that good Chinese airsoft optics are now more expensive not to mention less durable than from name brands for
words
Hey Focus, What Binary Trigger are you running? That thing is lightning fast!
Fostech Echo. Not sure which version 🤔.
@@johndecker9983 Thanks
Echo sport.
I like it 👍🏻
Tripp, you should do a video on red dots vs lpvo for home defense and shtf. I’m interested in hearing your perspective considering how much time you’ve had behind each.
Hell yeah! Like a SHTF for the poors video genre. I would love that!
I understand this question wasn't directed at me, but I love the lvpo and red dots equally for different scenarios. If I had to choose one SHTF optic, I would most likely choose an illuminated prism in 1x. The reasoning behind the 1x being in most SHTF or WROL scenarios, you don't want to engage past 100y, probably even 50y, because you really don't want people knowing your position unless you realize there is no other option.
Prism in general because like an lpvo, you have an etched reticle that will be there if the illumination is gone (lack of batteries), unlike a red dot. If batteries won't be an issue (ever), I want an Eotech exps, again because you don't want to engage unless you absolutely have to.
All this IMO and some will hammer away at it!
@@theunofficialresults231 I appreciate the feedback. I’m having a hard time committing to prisms over red dots only because the issue of battery life really doesn’t seem like an issue to me. With most optics now giving at least 2-3 years of battery life with 2 batteries I’m going to outlast most scenarios I can think of with a red dot. Also the necessity of getting behind a prism at the right spot every time seems like it could be a detriment (speaking from a position of ignorance, because I’ve not used 1x prisms.) I’m interested in hearing your response being that you have experience behind prisms.
@@rouchenelvannspeaking of your prism and head position comment you made. Isn’t it the same with a red dot? I don’t run any red dots on any of my AR’s, so I wouldn’t know.
@@RepublicofTX no it’s not the same. You can be anywhere behind a red dot, but you have eye box and eye relief with prisms.
what’s a good low/mid 1-8 ffp?
Arken.

Was hoping for a bonus duck hunting video at 6:40
Pretty sure that farmer would be mad!
Did Vortex just buy out the Gideon LPVO or something?
Mass effect soundtrack goes hard
please compare this with the monstrum panzer /banshee which I thought will be the go to option for the poor like me
I did a video on the panzer and banshee 1-10s they both failed.
Real question, the hell type of binary trigger are you running in the first clip?
Echo Sport.
Is that a monstrum mount? Is it garbage or decent?
I need a question answered, please: Why would I want a SFP over a FFP? I’m seriously trying to understand, other than price, what advantage to me a “2nd” has over a “1st”. Please let me know…
Have you ever tried actually seeing an unilluminated FFP reticle at 1x?
It's tiny. Because it has to fit properly at 6x, so you are seeing the reticle 1/6th size at 1x.
I'd go so far as to say that you should never buy FFP LPVOs unless you're spending minimum 1500 dollars.
FFP is completely unnecessary for 1-4s, 1-6s, 1-8s, etc. Like the other reply said, the reticle is TINY at 1x and very hard to pick up. On a SFP, it'll be more usable at 1x and even though you need it to be at max magnification for your holds and whatever to work, if your max magnification is only 4x, 6x, 8x, etc then it's not a big deal. In lower power magnification ranges, SFP is the better option IMO.
I only have one FFP optic, a 3-18x on a .308 AR I set up to shoot at long range, 200 min up to 1000 yards. The reticle is so small at 3x it's unusable as anything other than a dead hold on the center with the illumination on. You need to get it up in the 6-12x range before the reticle sizes up enough to not be a strain to use.
@@DD-hz3ts Thank you.
@@stevem4783 Thank you. That makes it much more clear.
How would you compare this to the Arken EP8 1-8?
Well I have a video on both.
would this be a better option opposed to the sig tango msr or PA slx?
I kinda think so yes.
Focus, could you tell me what buttstock are you using on the rifle at 8:31? The cheek weld look excellent

@@FocusTripp You are the MAN! :D
I also never wrote this, but i want to say that I love how you conduct your reviews, with unadulterated objective viewpoint on all the products you review.
And although I did not purchase anything from you (yet), I highly respect your free upgrades to existing customers and your services that you charge very honorable prices for. You are one of the few people that carries integrity, professionalism, and yet love for your customers, rather than having a money making machine and subpar standards.
I value your reviews more than most. You are one of the few channels I look through for optic and barrel reviews, because I know you will say it EXACTLY how it is, rather than having a spin because someone sent it to you for free.
I highly respect your opinions and reviews, because they have not led me in a wrong direction. You helped me with selecting at least 3 scopes so far.

This optic is not the king of the poors. This is the king of those with no credit card debt. ;)
>not debtmaxxing hyde style
6:43 I did buy one of these yesterday, and wanted to add something. Try putting a flip up iron on your front of your handguard rail and then look through it on 1x. It isn't 1x. Small beans, it might atlctually be impossible to make it truly 1x, and I like the optic, but It definitely is not 1x.
LPVOs don't have a true 1x yes
@FocusTripp somehow that fact got lost between false advertising laws and the consumer I guess.
I literally had no idea.
Finally!.............................................. A College Budget Optic....
Praise Venom!
Vector Optics Taurus is coming for your crown.
hmmm
How does it compare to the SLX Gen IV ACSS Nova
Similar, this has a better reticle.
Hugo let's goooo
How would you rate this vs the primary arms SLX stuff?
Slightly better in general, but the SLX line has a lot of different reticles.
I find the Sig Sauer TANGO6 MSR 1-6 a better option. And it comes with the mount.
It's not as good but the price is hard to beat.
