Just gotta say, I'm sad this didn't get commentated, but I'm happy they uploaded it anyway! Shiny did amazing playing his character, and Leo is showing why he is a top player. Fantastic 🔥

Shinymark is the best Pikachu player in the world. Kid is cracked and been saying that since the quarantine era. Wish he can travel consistently to show it.

I’m a number 1 Mkleo joker enthusiast but I think the Aegis were doing fine and he should have powered through with them and acc pull the joker during the top 8 of the tourney
He also is just benefitting from practicing with Aegis to round himself out as an even stronger player for his most coveted tournaments

Had he done that and lost, people would've been pissed that he didn't bring out the joker.
Metaknight would be the PERFECT counterpick for Pikachu and Sonic. He won't die early by edgeguards as easily from both characters. Also, if I remember correctly, back in Smash 4 MkLeo won that Japanese tournament over Ken in 2017 using Metaknight against Sonic in grands after losing with Cloud in winners. Now is the time to substitute Aegis in the back pocket for Metaknight (who Sonix probably doesn't have much practice against) alongside Joker (and Byleth if he still plays him) for everyone else *cough cough Kazuya*
Meta Knight loses to Sonic and Pikachu edgeguarding isn’t exactly everything
Meta Knight can't even begin to contest the neutral tools of Sonic and Pika. Mkleo actually pulled the MK out against Sonix before and iirc was repeatedly timed out because MK doesn't have the tools to force engagements, especially with Sonic.
I suspect you think MK has a chance here because his uair ladders can cheess pika, but when taking into consideration mk's mediocre pokes, inferior movement stats and an inconsistent kill confirm that he has to rely on because he has no other reliably way of killing, that is not a bet I'd take.
If you're determined to cheese Pika, i'd recommend ryu, shotos oos game is obnoxious, he obviously doesn't give a shit about crossups, his nair combos into his toolkit consistent and throughout varying % and eats thunderjolt, and his intangibles force pika to respect his stage control.
Mk loses to pika, but sonic isn't that bad. I think it's almost even

What I was saying in my comment is that whenever I think of MkLeo's Aegis losing, the first thing that comes to mind is dying early off stage (maybe struggling to get kills when compared to his Byleth cheesing people with up-b confirms). Time will tell if MkLeo's MetaKnight with the ability to recover better makes up for worse neutral compared to his Aegis
Sad to see Leo get eliminated as 9th, but it's always great to see how much the community as a whole has improved! ShinyMark played exceptionally well, nothing more to say about it. He faced Death in the eyes and said _"bring it"._

@@mortyrickerson6322 I watch a ton of pools of major events and a lot of top 8's and haven't really noticed political stuff being brought up at all. It does derail sometimes but most of the time it's about the match or related to the match like characters/match up discussion/moves/stage picks etc.
Most of the time mfs would just chat like they're at a bbq having a couple of beers while catching up with the boys

Everything about this set explains why I dropped Smash completely. Pikachu's up-b should not have hitboxes and Pikachu badly needed the same hurt box nerfs as Pichu and Olimer.
