Here is the Caddicarus compilation for Klonoa PS5, the Klonoa remake based not on the original Klonoa PS1 but instead Klonoa Wii, which I think is a worser version of Klonoa Door the Phantomile than the Klonoa HD collection from Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series. It's such a stupid name isn't it, Klonoa Door to Phantomile Phantasy Reverie Series. Awful. Anyway, what isn't awful is this best of moments video featuring the original Klonoa OST and it's amazing Klonoa soundtrack, and now it's just amazing at all that we can play Klonoa Switch - Klonoa on Nintendo Switch is crazy. But no, we're playing it on PC and Steam instead all the way until the heartbreaking Klonoa ending which is a lot worse in Klonoa Wii than it is in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie. Every stage in this Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series walkthrough you'll see it all completed to 100% including Klonoa 6-2 which people seem to have a lot of trouble with. Throughout this Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series gameplay you'll see bits and pieces of a Klonoa Phantasy Reverie review but not of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series Switch and instead Klonoa Phantasy Reveri Series PS5 - which is closer to the HD remake on the PC version ready to be played on Steam Deck - by the way, Klonoa Phantasy Reverie gameplay on Steam Deck is great. So even though there isn't technically any Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series PS5 gameplay or a Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series Switch review, it's more or less the same thing - just like the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie OST. I remember loving the idea of this Klonoa collection when I first saw the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series trailer and was worried it would only be on Klonoa Phantasy Reverie PS5 - but luckily it wasn't. Klonoa wahoo!

I Love How This Game is Setup as a cute little adventure for tiny babies, THEN YOUR GRANDPA DIES AND LITTLE TIMMY GETS DEPRESSION.
I played this only a couple of weeks for the first time ever, and even at 21 years old, Grandpa’s death made me depressed for the rest of the game

Definitely feel the same way about it looking better on PS1. There's something about low-poly 3D graphics that work better for a lot of games from that era than more modern 3D does -- perhaps because everything was designed with the limitations in mind. And nostalgia, probably.

regarding caddys point about the originals looking better: I agree but i cna pin it down. the original of several remade games lie klonoa and oddworld look bettr for us because they have unique styles, they didn't have the tech to be TOO fancy so they had to be thoughtfu about how they'd styalise the graphics to match their vision and what the scene are meant to convey, and so wed get more unique art styles for the grpahics.
the new versions look nice but they also lose a lot of that UNIQUE CHARM, as since they're jsut gonna all be super def 3D they look the same as like a lot of other games.
(also klonoa's 2D graphics also allowed for fun one off shit like balue's head growing giant as he reals at klonoa and huepow to shut up, while in the remake he DOESN'T do that and they do nothig fun with the shout at all)

I think the reason the original game looks better is because of the hardware limitations of the PS1. The PS1 was actually less powerful than the N64 and wasn't capable of the same technical feats. So they had to work around those limitations in order to make the game look charming. Meanwhile, the updated graphics feel more reminiscent of Yooka-Laylee.
