Chechen forces claim 'victory over Mariupol' as Ukrainians inside Azovstal keep up the fight

- The Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov claims Chechen and Russian forces 'special operation to cleanse and destroy Mariupol has been completed.'
The Chechen fighter posted footage of himself and his fighters on Friday, posing in front of a burnt-out administrative building near Mariupol’s Azovstal steel plant, the last stronghold of Ukrainian forces and civilians in the city.
On Thursday, the Kremlin released video of a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Defence Secretary Sergei Shoigu, during which the Russian leader claimed control of the whole city of Mariupol.
Yet, Ukrainian forces are still holding out in the city’s Azovstal steelworks having resisted for a month in the city where some of the most brutal attacks have occurred.
In a passionate statement, given while explosions could be heard in the background, Samoilenko, a soldier from the Azov Battalion, says the port city is "not yet dominated", denying Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims that his troops control all of the city except for the steelworks, which they are blockading.
Although Russia is believed to have significant control over large areas of Mariupol, Azov has released video footage of their soldiers ambushing tanks and other armoured vehicles in recent days.
Samoilenko assured that the Ukrainian forces “continue to fight”, having destroyed “a tank, two armoured vehicles and an armoured personnel carrier” on Thursday and that, “The number of damages” to Russian troops “will increase”.
Kadyrov, who has supplied large numbers of fighters to the Russian war effort, regularly issues messages about the fighting in Mariupol. For weeks, Chechen fighters have been spotted around the city. This footage, posted by Kadyrov, shows soldiers posing just to northeast of the main industrial area at Azovostal, against a backdrop of flames and heavy damage.

Yes, of course . . . when the civilians of Mariupol had a chance to escape the city, they decided that a better idea would be to run to the local steel works and hide among the soldiers who they knew would be a direct target of the enemy. These Azov guys are really great. Hunkering down in the bowels of a steel plant, and after having begged for extraction three days ago, they are now fiercely blogging over how Mariupol is not taken, while their enemies freely roam the city and and officially take over the broadcasting tower to start broadcasting in Russian.
That's the thing, the Azov guys don't have to do much but survive for their mission to succeed. They are tying up enemy forces behind enemy lines so they aren't deploy to other areas like Donbass. Make no mistake, the Russians/Chechens will still have forces surrounding Mariupol just for Azov after this video. This dude's blogging is actually useful, it's not shooting bullets sure, but it has it's use in the bigger scheme of things.

Different story here. Germany invaded non Germany speaking territories. East Ukraine is pro Russian predominantly and predominantly Russian speaking territory. They have been fighting for independence from Ukraine. Its difficult for Russia to occupy West or North Ukraine or Central Ukraine coz those people are not Russian but Ukrainian by language while south Eastern Ukraine is dominated by Russian descendants. So Ukrainian government has a big problem in south east coz THE PEOPLE ARE AGAINST IT NOT ONLY ARMY. ONCE PEOPLE ARE AGAINST GOVERNMENT THEN THERE IS A PROBLEM. IF DONBASS PEOPLE WERE AGAINST RUSSIA THEN RUSSIA CUDNT WIN AGAINST MAJORITY WILL BUT NOW THEY PRO RUSSIAN. MARIUPOL HAS 90%RUSSIAN DESCENDANTS. EVEN LANGUAGE SPOKEN BY 90% OF PEOPLE IN MARIUPOL IS RUSSIAN. ITS HARD TO HEAR ANY UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE IN MARIUPOL.
Also take note the entire Azov and Ukrainian army that was defending mariupol has no single Soldier from Donbass. All the fighters were from central, South West and North Ukraine. That tells you already that the Ukrainian army had no support in mariupol.

Azov Battalion and Ukrainian forces have literally spent the past 8 years shelling civilians and we have video evidence of them stopping civilians leaving Mariupol including dragging civilians out of their cars and killing them.

Not even professional soldiers. Russia tried for two months to take this city with a superiority of 10 times the number of troops. They are real Spartans. I think it will go down in history. They haven't given up so far.

For example russian media stated that they destroyed the entire Ukrainian air force yet Ukrainian helicopters managed to strike targets in Russian territory. Another example of a lie is when the Russian media claimed that the Moskva was being safely towed for repairs after a "ammunition fire" yet the ship sunk the very next day.
