Vanilla Game: Place a soldier into the first powerarmor: I question if we go to far. Will we end like the alienes that we fight. Will we forget what human mean and become only machines. DLC: Cut of the libs of a soldiere, scavenge and replace his flesh until 92% of his body was only death metal. No pain but also no fellings: I was total Fine with that!
So, we have a couple of options - we can outfit you with a flamethrower, or you can have the kinetic strike module. Everyone: "ROBOT GOES FALCON PAWNCH!!!"
I don't think so. It's more even than that. MEKs have better armor, and better trained pilots, but the Terran Marines' guns are surprisingly dangerous to hard targets. They're not M16s, and sure as hell not firing bullets as we know them now. What's more, the marines are still small enough to use cover. It's pritty even IMO.
Look, if you ever join the military, one thing you can find in your contract is they can order you to participate in experiments like this. You can opt out on join. If you don't, then until your service is up, it doesn't matter what you want.

To defeat monsters we need to create monsters of our own.

+Enoc Elias Escalona heavier weapons but less armor for far more manueverbility and speed so HELL YEAH XCOM

Imagine having second thoughts about the whole procedure later on.
