To be honest, I do not recall exactly. Once you are 100% certain that it is SUPPOSED to come off once the bolt is removed, your approach becomes less gentle. I suspect that I alternated between tapping the outer edges of the faces with soemthing heavy (breaker bar maybe) and gentle prying from behind.
