I recommend going with type s advanced, this NA engine is lackluster

I do have a soft spot for that CX-90…

I think the biggest issue with the non-type S MDX is the engine low HP ans especially low torque. It is a big heavy heavy vehicle requiring all these transmission ratios to keep it going. Wonderful NA engine but not the best application for it

The gearbox and its calibration is all about emissions and fuel consumption. Unlike us, most people never use more than 40% of the throttle.

Brian, I am the opposite...i find the touchpad actually allows me to keep my eyes focused on the road because the screen is within my visual field.

Been there, done that, tried all of the rest, and this is not the even close to the best solution.

Dear Santa, I know it's another 319 days until next Christmas, but I'd like to get my wish in before all the snot nosed ankle biters... could you please stop all automobile manufacturers from using cheesey gloss black plastic in their automobile interiors and exteriors? Thank you Santa, I really will try to be good this year!

Can we get rid of black wheels too?

    Nice review 👍
😂 I like how you said this MDX has a lot media miles on it. 😂 maybe those idiots at Straight Pipes drove crap out of it.
Why in the world Acura would place untraditional shift control. What is wrong with traditional shift lever?
The styling is off and not very ergonomically smooth.
At least it is not a Turbo engine.
For the price, there are many other better options. Traditionally Acuras don’t age well as Lexus.
This MDX is essentially an overpriced Honda Odyssey minivan.

Yeah...this thing also had a bit of a funk to it, as well. The other day, I witnessed some "journalists" nearly crash a crossover we tested a few months ago on this channel. Good thing for them, the other driver had quick reactions and basic skills to avoid these clowns.
As for the MDX, I do want to try the Type S.

the Car is not bad, the only thing I don´t like is the design of the interior. Thanks 😀

      It drives pretty well.

Acura used to use a scroll/push wheel for the infotainment. I love Acura but I don't get that dumb touch pad either.

It makes no sense. Waiting for the Acura apologists to show up and throw me some shade!

Later this year for 2025 model, it's supposed to ditch the True Touch System for Touch screens again.
Acura had a scroll/push wheel, journalists complained, next MDX 2014 came with touch screens, journalists complained again, they missed the touch and buttons. Guess what, next 2021 MDX came introduced the touch pad, journalists complained again, so now Acura just said it's going to touch screens again for this model refresh later this year.

@@thejake8099 carmakers are typically smart enough to get their product design advice from sources other than "journalists" and this is a case of correlation not equating to causation

@@BrianMakse A scathing car review or several scathing reviews from journalists will sway buyer perception even when the buyer/owner doesn't agree. In Acura's case, I'm sure they held a focus group for current and potential owner/buyer as well and obviously the response was good as they went in said direction for their design and interfaces. Again, big journalists/media have a lot of sway doing a review.

Actually, it is ergonomically and functionally perfectly located for while driving. I have two vehicles, one with a touchscreen and the other is the 2023 MDX, and using the touchpad allows me to maintain focus on the road because the screen is within my driving visual field. When I use the touchscreen on my other vehicle I find my eyes are fixed on where my finger is touching or swiping on the screen, which takes my eyes off the road. With the touchpad, I am seeing both the road and the screen. What Acura should have done is to make it dual function, so those who assume touchscreen provides a superior driving experience can have it.
