I recently stumbled on your channel & I absolutely love your style of painting. I would naturally paint pretty quickly but I always berated myself for that, thinking if I didn’t spend hours and hours on one painting then it couldn’t ever be good enough, that I wasn’t good enough. It’s amazing how we beat ourselves up & forget to actually enjoy the painting process & being in the moment if that makes sense. I’m getting better though!

Hello Luke, I truly love watching you paint. Can you share more of how you sketch? as well as how you keep your paint wet? I have worked with acrylic but would've to try oil. Your work is beautiful. :)

      Thank you!
I use multiple methods on sketching depending on the circumstances.
Perhaps one day I'll make a video about all the methods I use and their pros and cons.
To keep my paint wet I just throw the palette in the freezer when I'm done.
Should keep your palette wet for weeks depending on the paints.

I was wondering which colors to use to paint a black dog or a cat? Thanks

It depends on the lighting and environment the animal is in.
I tend to think of shadows as cool and highlights as Warm.

More time to do what you actually like to do??? This is a confusing statement as someone who actually likes- well, LOVES to paint 😆 can u clarify on this?

I believe that there can be some parts of being an artist that are not very desirable for some. for example taxes, invoicing, marketing and advertising to just name a few.
The idea is to welcome modern technology into your practice to make you a more efficient artist so that you have more time to paint.
If you paint or draw just for fun and your not worried about your growth or your reach you may look for other efficiencys like an organized work environment or perhaps a scheduled time for uninterrupted painting.
I love to paint and definitely like to be efficient in all the busy work required in running ones own business to leave time to paint!
Hope that clears up a little more what I was trying to express and that maybe you have a better outlook on how to improve your craft! Happy painting!
