90th desktop shipmate LIKE, 414th viewer... here we go round-n-round...? SoCal waters while sailing, fortunately, haven't been too weird. "Expectations & The Winds of Change" - seems to be a continuing adventure you're documenting.
Very captivating and so nice to hear some of your chart plotting thoughts, keeps it interesting, How much local cuisine do you allow your guts to try? Do you eat fish most every day I imagine? Thank you, Fair Winds and Following Seas...
Chicken Rock is the one we will never forget with 4m seas, but Cuan Sound in Scotland is nasty and the current sweeps you onto a rocky island that has reefs on either side and you have to "thread the needle" whilst dodging the chain ferry and dealing with the whirlpools 😄
So descriptive on happening events, unfortunately no video of the 360 joyride or dragging fishing boats, lovely video cheers guys, merry Christmas if I miss you before then.
As always I enjoyed your video and watched with interest and respect. The only thing I did not like was the fact you were heading south … the opposite direction of Japan! 😅
Aha! The heading is just to throw you off the scent... No, I'm joking! The two reasons for Lombok were 1) a place to leave Esper while we visited the UK, and 2) it was the closest place to haul out. We'll be heading north again very soon. 🤞🌬️ Liz
Hi .. which satellite app do you use please ?.. you mention it occasionally ..and where exactly are you heading .. ?.. thanks for the great videos by the way
I'm not fully up on Brummie lingo, but it does sound like something an Essex girl might understand on a night out ;) personally I would prefer a curry.
Yes, and lots of it, although I wouldn't say that particular anchorage was particularly constricted. I just wonder how much the sudden change in depth, combined with some constriction, had something to do with it.
Indonesia has some of the strangest (uncharted) currents we've ever experienced. What's the weirdest water you've sailed through?
I've never experienced crazy currents before. I've seen a psychopathic sultana and had some odd dates, though.
Sorry, I'll go now.
🤦🏼Yes, me too, some of the oddest dates. 😄 Liz

Thanks for this. You're the second person to educate us on this little fact. Much appreciated 😃👍
You two are looking really good. Cruising suits you!
Haha, why thank you, Tom! We should do this more often 😉

The currents of change, I'd say, Peter 😁

Hi from Krabi Boat Lagoon! One of the reasons I choose to come here was watching your refit series a few years back!
Yes, Krabi was a great spot back in 2018, hope it still is! 🙏
Love to Garn and Maja if they're there? Liz x
Good judgment on identifying what boats will drag before they actually drag.
That does come with experience and many close shaves!
nice scenery
Stunning, innit? Love this area, it's quite unique and pretty remote.
Wild tides! Sounds crazy, but beautiful surroundings!
Exactly that!
I remember some crazy currents in Komodo National Park.
Yes, we'll find out about those soon, Rich. We've heard they can be ridiculous.
@@followtheboat You're going to love the diving there!
Thanks!
Pleasure 😎
Sorry Jamie missed your Super Thanks. That's very kind of you and much appreciated. Peace and fair winds, John! Liz xx
The smell of rain 'Petrichor' .
Well well, I did not know that! Thank you 😃👍

Liz always has a line out but eating ashore in these places normally means fish anyway. We frequently eat locally, the food is excellent.

And all the while in those 'cool' Scottish waters. Brrrrr!
@@followtheboat - they were warm when we did it - no ice! 😄
Thanks guys!
You're very welcome, glad you made it! Next one's out in 8 hours... Liz 🙏

For nearly every occasion when the sh1t's hitting the proverbial, the last thing we're thinking about is filming it! 😄Liz
Thanks for sharing ❤
You're very welcome. 🙏 Liz
yikes! I have so much to learn!
You're always learning on a boat, Edward, it never stops. That's one reason why we love it so much!
@@followtheboat very grateful for channels like yours. They are a wealth of knowledge!
I live vicariously through you. Indonesia scared me but now, not so much. Thanks so much... sending love and wishes for good winds.
Indonesia is not scary (apart from the earthquakes and volcanos 😄)! I'm so thrilled to know that we've helped to show you that. Liz 🙏

Adding commentary and details to relatively uncharted locations.
Yes, indeed, that's exactly what we're trying to do. 🤓 Liz

We use Alpine Quest at the moment. In these videos we're heading to Lombok from northern Sulawesi. 🙏 Liz
My best guess is that Banguy (sp.?) is a demonym for a Birminghamian... Great episode --- onward and onward! Regards.
FYI, Daniel, a Birminghamian is known as a Brummie 😉 Onwards!

Classic! 🤣🤣
Pure physics of flow..... constrict a volume of liquid and velocity.....current will increase....good old Venturi effect
