Appreciate the review. But who cares about the packaging seeming 'cheap'? Overdone packaging is wasteful, so I appreciate any minimizing of packaging for something that, itself, is a protective case!
I agree. Unless maybe it's something I will sell in the future (and would be nice to have the original packaging), I couldn't care less about the packaging
Hazel all the way! Bought it with the 9 Pro XL and love the premium feeling it gives off in the hand. I even loved the minimalist recycled packaging which, let's admit it, goes in the bin anyway, so this was nice to see.
Thosee fabric Pixel cases were amazing. But they were too wide and made the phone heard to grip. Still have all of them from over the years! And they were machine washable. Wonder if the new ones are!
I ordered one with my 9 Pro. I'm supposed to get them on Sept 4th. I've had my Pixel 7 in the official case for two years now, and it has held up well. There are a few knicks in it from dropping the phone, but it still has the original vibrancy of the Lemongrass color. The metal buttons also feel good still.
They're nice, aesthetically, have good fit and matching colors..albeit more on the overpriced side. But it's a little too smooth and slippery at the sides. You can hold a phone hands down while walking and it will have the tendency to slide out of your hands unless you have sweaty palms, or if you grip on to more than just the sides. Could use more grip.
@@me5425 you are correct. And despite what Android fanbois (not you) think, magsafe is a game changer for accessories and wireless charging. To my knowledge, Qi2 includes magnets for aligning the wireless charger to the device much like "Magsafe". I used Magsafe as a generic term because many people don't understand that Qi2 includes magnets as well. I just got a Mous case for my Pixel 9 Pro and having the magsafe magnets has been nothing short of awesome for some accessories I can now use. So what you want to call it, future devices NEED magnets on the back for alignment of the chargers AND accessories moving forward. This is one area Apple innovated and changed the game.
I've picked up a hazel case for my non-pro 9, because I love this color, but it was only available for the pro models. After 1 day of use, I won't say anything about the durability, but it definitely feels nice.
Are they stick to hand? Because my pixel 9 pro XL without case feels like it's gonna slip out of my hand. I think they made those phone like that just to keep buying cases, because without case this phone doesn't feels good in hand.
I love the look and feel of the case. But at least for the pro xl my only complaint is how slippery it is. I never thought I'd ask for more grip on a case, but the phone is so heavy that you do really need a decent grip on the xl model to keep it from falling out of your hands and its more annoying than youd expect
I bought 2 cases Obsidian & Hazel. The hazel case looks 🔥. The obsidian case I bought from T-Mobile Saturday just passed when Pixel Pro XL arrived. 3 days in and its holding up very well. The hazel case arrived on Monday from the Google store. The Obsidian case is for work and the Hazel case is for outings
Pixel 9 and 9 pro are the exact same size. So, peony and wintergreen for the pixel 9 fits pixel 9 pro as well but not the pro xl. That's why 6 cases for the 9 and 9 pro but only 4 for the 9 pro xl.
i have a pixel 8 pro and bought a magsafe case and it wont charge with origibal apple magsafe charger...what am i doing wrong> is it because its an apple magsafe charger?
how grippy is it in the hand? It looks a bit too sleek to be functional to me, massive phones need a grippy case to hold in the palm not just one that looks nice
The case looks nice but should be priced at $20 for what you get I opted for a clear spigen with magsafe cant say if its better or not since Im waiting on the phone and case to arrive
I do like the Spigen option but i also prefer wired charging now so if i was to get a P9P i may well get the original case in the same colour as the phone...
Bought the Google case for my Pixel 7, the phone was just too slippery to use without a case. Was very disappointed, the Google case was just as slippery ☹️, so I bought a textured Spigen case, which was nearly perfect. I just wished they did more colours 😂. I've still got an iPod Touch from 2012, with the polished steel back, which is still like new 😁. The first thing I did was add a cheap neoprene case - so much for premium design 😂.
They really would've been perfect with magnets and Google would've sold them hand over fist, in fact that and the color options (mint is the only one I really like) are the only reasons I'm looking elsewhere... The in hand feel of these is the best tho, I used Peak's case and a Caseology Parallax for a month each on my P8 and they both hurt my pinky and felt bulkier compared to the coral silicon case from Google.
Google official case is the is the way to go to make sure ppl know that I got a pixel phone ❤. Let's promote pixel phone for them bc their marketing is trash
I ordered the official case for the Pro 9 XL and immediately returned it. They feel great until you try to use day to day... The most slippery case I've ever used, guaranteed to drop it at some point 🙈
I'm using the Google OEM case in porcelain on my porcelain Pixel 9. I like the case but I find it a bit slippery. I'm hoping it'll get worked in a little over time and develop a better grip to it.
As long as you have a lip around the screen that's all you need unless you're throwing your phone off cliffs onto rocks 😂. These google cases offer as much protection as you need for most use cases. I've dropped my Pixel 8 pro heaps and gone mountain biking without any issues. Don't even have a screen protector.
@@42degrees86so many people in the comments and reviews say the exact opposite, they say this case is extremely slippery and that they have never had a case with so little grip before 🤦, so what is the truth here??
Nice cases, however all these companies never integrate a small kickstand into the case, thats why i buy cheaper ones on amazon with the kickstand and they hold up well. I use my phone alot for watching content away from home so a kickstand is mandatory.
I've never understood why anyone would pay $40 for the official Google cases when they are so plain and boring. Especially when you can buy a 3rd party case with better colors at half the price and more practical features like kickstands, wallet cases, mag safe and last longer.
Why didn't you show us various cases/phones combinations so that it would be possible to understand which case suits which phone color the best? Useless review.
I've bought the Pixel 8 last year with an official Case and it is holding up completely fine. The edges of the visor have gotten a little shiny lately but nothing unexpected and the rest of the case still looks really good. I'd say go for a Google Case if you like the design from that standpoint!

I agree. A weird thing to be irritated or annoyed about. It's meant to be thrown away, it doesn't need to be pricey.
Google absolutely cooked with this year’s design. The case fits like a glove
Absolutely , after they they totally ruined the pixel 6 6a with the worst case ever 😭 no more transparent ugly case ever pleeease

Does this case not wear out over time and become unsightly?
loved my pixel 5 fabric case
Thosee fabric Pixel cases were amazing. But they were too wide and made the phone heard to grip. Still have all of them from over the years! And they were machine washable. Wonder if the new ones are!
I wouldn't be able to have one because it would get stained so quickly
I got them on my pixel 4 and never used them thanks to freaking covid smh

is it slippery? if you had to rate the grip of this case from 1 to 10 what rating would you give? Thnks
Does the case become worn out over time and start to shine in places where it is held most often?
I still miss the fabric Pixel cases
Same
I'm still struggling to find a similar case to this but with magsafe and for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold

Does it protect enough if you drop your phone?
Can you put on a magsafe sticker? Some cases don't really work with adhesives.
No Magsafe, no case... Biggest oversight by Google not to include Qi2

No Magsafe, No Purchase. The Spigen is also not an option, as it's a metal ring, not a magnet array, so it lacks strength.
