    The 70/90 was never released in civilian version, only a few, mithical, ones, about 5-10. Here in Italy we can buy at relatively low price, surplus rifles from Carabinieri. Converted to semiautomatic, european A6 class of firearms, some restrictions. No part kit here. I have 2 Fn made Fal (stg58 and israeli's) originals, converted to semiauto fire

      That's not true i saw a plenty of them at least 30/40 and even for a low price (1150/1300€)

    Beretta needs to do an updated model, or just a retro line.

      I think that the most modern of AR70/90 actually is the SCP version that looks like the FN FNC. I found some pics with adapted rails on hand guard.
      However, I agree with a new modernization keeping the retro style, but without that ugly carry handle ahhah

    • @ChaohsiangChen
      @ChaohsiangChen ปีที่แล้ว

      All it needs is an updated carry handle similar to Z carry handles. Maybe an mlok handguard so we can put more shit on.

    I like it a lot. I really like the bipod and the way it tucks in, it almost becomes invisible and just looks kinda like part of the handguard. I think they should do a completely modernized version of this rifle.

      beretta has already done two newer assaultrifle,arx 160 and the upcomign Narp,i doubt so much they gonna modernize ar 70 or ar 70/90,surplus are still around on civilian market from formerly ranks of our gendarmery/carabinieri

    Ah, the good ol' AR70/90. I used it a lot back in my military days, I was assigned an SC 70/90 (almost identical, with a folding stock). Soft shooter and extremely precise firearm, we were shooting nice and tight groups at 100m with only iron sights. Good times

      Me too. Every now and then I bring out my 92FS from my safe just to look at it. It’s a gorgeous design, fits my hands perfectly and with a hammer spring replacement has a fantastic double action trigger. Best of all, aside from the 5th round it fired, it has had absolutely zero malfunctions after about 1,700 rounds. My only complaint with mine is there’s no rail for a light and the front sight is built into the slide and can’t be replaced without paying a gunsmith.

    10:00 The Rear Sight can be set for 150 or 300 meters. Two other older models also existed. One was a similar Flip-L set to 200 & 400 meters. The other model Sight could be set to 1, 2, or 300 meters via a Knob on the side.

    If the cooperation between Sig and Beretta stopped because Sig wanted a roller delay and Beretta a rotating bolt, well, it is now the Stg90 that is similar to the AR70, and not the contrary. 😊

    The connection of the Bolt carrier to the Gas Piston via the Cocking handle comes from the FN CAL / FNC designs.
    Over the years, the EI has used Garands, BM59s, AR10s, AR70s, AR70/90, and now the ARS160.
    With liberalized gun regulations from 1980s onwards, Military Rifles on Semi Auto, or with FUll Auto permanently converted to SemiAuto ( eg, BM59, StG58, even MP44,) are available to collectors/shooters. All conversions must be Nat.Proof House Approved and Tested to be allowed into circulation.

    It's the SIG 550 that has the long stroke gas piston and the recoil spring around the gas cylinder like the Beretta AR70, not the contrary. Infact the primary disagreement between the two manufacturers was that Beretta wanted to use a gas action, while SIG wanted to use a roller delayed one. The roller delay didn't work well with .223 Rem, so they first made a roller locked rifle (SIG 530) that, at that point was uselessly complex, so they finally settled on a gas action almost identical to the Beretta one (SIG 540).

    The one biggest improvement of the AR70/90 over the original is the modification to accept STANAG mags. It makes reloading much faster & easier.

    • @45Trumps9
      @45Trumps9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rock and locks are ideal for very cold climates. Any freezing rain or snow quickly makes the AR’s mag lock inoperable. Thats why Russia and the Swiss still us them. Eliminates having to learn the whole Tap, Rack and assess drill. ( most people that takes 4 seconds to get back on target) and during war you never have to worry if your magazine is fully seated.
      Lol Anything you pick is a trade off.
