This stuff is invaluable!!! I've been playing for 15 years. I quit drinking 3 years ago and when I cleaned up I realized I had very little clue as to what I was doing outside keeping a tight rhythm and playing small fills, so I quit playing altogether. I recently picked up the guitar again and I'm determined to learn the instrument correctly this time so it all makes sense and I can technically let music play itself. The feeling I had is that something was missing which connected all the pieces together so it could flow. Stumbling across these tutorials is a blessing. I have to say I'm impressed with your professionalism and ability to break this information down in a manner that is easily digestible. I'm excited to learn music theory and technical applications, excited to play again. NOW if I can just work around all these bad habits I developed the first time around :D Thanks Steve!!

Thank you so much! It doesn't do justice to how grateful I am. But that's all I can say. I will purchase your entire course as soon as I'm able.

This was my last attempt (tried seriously 3 times before) at 'getting it' before giving up. Not only do I have it now, I can't believe how simple it is. That's entirely due to the way it was explained and Steve's delivery. He's enthusiastic and not condescending as he sticks to the simplest way of explaining things without veering off onto any tangents that would complicate things. I honestly can't say this enough - but thank you Steve. I am SO stoked I finally got it after all this time!

There's no sharp/flat between b/c or e/f so take that into account, your losing a half step between those 2 sets of notes/chords that you have between all the others. Hope that helps.

Steve, you absolutely rock! I'm a classic rock cover solo who's been gigging since I was young and thin - 42 years. Being mostly self taught, I never learned the theory behind what I was playing. But you changed that amigo! I have learned more about theory in the last week than I have my entire performing life! You connected so many dots for me a can't even tell you. I had no idea had much I didn't, OR how much I knew but didn't know I knew it!! You've made me a better musician and, as I move from the cover scene to the original music arena, 'you've already improved me songwriting. Amazing. You're a fantastic teacher. Thanks, and keep those vids coming!! ScottyP, Tucson

I have been playing classical and flamenco for years and always wondering what cords and keys are. Watched and read many videos and articles. Your presentations are the best. Thank you for solving the puzzle that confused me for years.

Just wanted to mention that I have found your teaching one of the best. You have an ability to articulate the 'technical into non technical terms. you choose your words with the way Knofler or Gilmore would choose a note. Also the tempo in your teaching makes perfect sense. Non threatening but extremely powerful and effective. I am now on my way.
    Thanks, Steve!

Great. You can read as many books as you like but sometimes its not easy to understand. With someone demonstrating it in plain language and in bite size chunks it begins to make sense. Thanks v much Steve, now changing key is so much easier.

I've been playing guitar for 16 years and never gave theory a chance. Never knew how chords were structured and whatnot. These videos have been incredible for my playing and understanding. Thank you so much!

I have been playing guitar for almost 20 years and all I've ever done is follow patterns and shapes, and, like you said, not really understanding how it all fits together. I can't believe it took me this long to start learning this stuff. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Thank you for putting you own time into this. Thank you for making these videos. You are an amazing teacher.

I took guitar lessons for 3 years and my instructor never explained theory this way. it was really confusing and difficult to learn/remember. He would get agitated when his students didn't have this stuff committed to memory. Thank you for explaining it in a manor that makes it easy to understand and remember. Keep the lessons coming......we will keep watching.

First and foremost, thank you Steve Stine for your videos!
I played an electric guitar as a teenager in the 80's, mostly power cords.
I haved recently purchased an acoustic and am determined to do it the right way this time.
I've watched ALOT of youtube videos and after watching your first 3, I think i"ve found a home.
I like your style, method, pace and am looking forward to learning from you.

First video of Steves I ever watch a year plus and at least 6 coures later, cant see working with anyone else, Not sayaing there arent any other good instructors but with Steve i get it, the breakdown follows a logical order with just the depth needed for a subject that i understand the concept enough to apply and use. in a past life i was an instructor, course design instructor and test administrator / proctor for Dept of the Army, I dont remember ever seeing or working with any instructors that focus not only on the subject but also the learners capabilities, directions and influences Thanks Steve youre an excellent teacher and motivator.

this video alone is one of the greatest music theory videos I have ever seen. I mean it broke it down and made me understand how different notes come together to make a chord. Steve Stine is a badass. about to buy your course. wish I could do one on one with you.

I have learned everything I know about guitar from TH-cam. I have seen various videos about this topic and no one has ever explained it in a way I find it so easy. Maybe I speak for myself but truly the best guitar teacher and great tone of voice that you can listen to for 20 minutes and not be annoyed. Thank you for posting these videos for free. I wish I would have found them 6 years ago when you posted this lol.
