Good morning Geof. Tony from Chips and sparks Garage told me about your channel. I was struggling with ride height on my 1954 Dodge Fargo 1/2 ton. I think I have it now. The guy that owned this truck used whatever leaves that he could find. When I decided to take some leaves out, the ride levelness went all over the place. I did notice that my leaves had a different arks. So I just found ones that worked. I wish I found this video knew how to do what you did early last week. So I subscribed to your channel to find out what else I can learn from you. Thanks for sharing.👍👍

Good tip, Geof. I’ve never tried that myself, but might give it a try on my F1. I’m gonna share this video with Andy’s Doghouse. He’s trying to get his truck sitting level. BTW, I like these quick tips videos! 👍Tony

Hey, thanks. That was pretty cool and something I had never done before, but I want to know if I can cut them very easily or is my angle grinder even going to do it with a fresh cutting disc on it? My old man straitened plenty of leaf springs and made different digging tools and a big ol knife, but, for some reason, he did that kind of stuff when I wasnt around to see how he straitined or cut them. I'm thinking he probably did some of the cutting with his ark-welder, but, he told me long ago that he wished me never to weld he said that welding stuff, over time takes a toll on your eye sight. So.. I didnt take it up,' don't know much about it, but, I had a truck out in the back yard that I bought for parts for my other truck. After I stripped it, he cut the frame up and used it for a bunch of other things. He's gone now, I wish he were still here, I miss him. 90 years old and he was still working on something every day, he was amazing, bless his soul.

@@geofjonescustoms7332 thanks, you were right about that. My angle grinder made short work of it, now I have a 26 inch knife blank cut out and thats what I was after

I want to make a strong wood splitting from with a straight blade. I have an arched leaf spring 1.2cm thick steel from a Ford transit van. How do I make the leaf spring straight ?

Keep pressing it a little at a time with the curve facing down ,that will gradually work it flat .
