Been there, done that, made my own "caseless" case (ground plate) for sizes up to SSI-EEB, it leaves everything vulnerable, completely unsuited for a daily driver. Cable management not possible. As a test plate it was fine though, but this product does not aim to be a test bench, everything is screwed and clamped down. A test plate shines with ease of swapability. I'm not sure what this aims to be. 🤔

I think that's a situation where the only good answer is "It depends...". I had a side-mounted tower cooler for about 7 years with no issuess. It was still installed and working just fine when I sold the system to put a new one together. I can see how it might be a concern, however.
