Shane was born with a neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy that requires him to use an electric wheelchair. He is the author of several award-winning books, the President of a nonprofit organization called Laughing At My Nightmare, and a renowned public speaker who has performed across the country at places such as Harvard University, The University of Florida, The University of Connecticut, Princeton University, and many more.
Hannah just graduated from Carleton College, where she studied Sociology and Anthropology. Her future aspirations include attending graduate school and owning a goat sanctuary. She films and edits the “Squirmy and Grubs” vlog.
Shane and Hannah have been dating for 3+ years and living together in Minneapolis for a year. On June 15th, 2019 they got engaged!!!! Their interabled relationship often confuses people, because much of society still cannot fathom people with disabilities being involved in loving, intimate relationships. Anyone who watches these episodes will quickly see their relationship is just as “normal” as any other. Sure, Hannah helps Shane use the bathroom and brush his teeth, but those activities do not detract from the emotional, intellectual, and physical connection they experience together.

I listen to you guys with my ear pods in and I randomly laugh out loud in my house. My family thinks I'm disturbed. LOL!!!! I love you so much!! Shane, any girl would be so lucky to spend this life with you!!!
Yes he so funny and he's handsome man! My husband is disabled in that way but he has serious brain injuries and mental issues and people hurt my feelings daily asking me how I can be with him or love him! We all deserve love and someone! Hannah is beautiful but I can see why she fell in love!
And yes I try not too watch them at night! Because I break down laughing!
Same when someone is in the car with me! They ask “what’s wrong with you?”
Bandaid removal trick: put some coconut oil (or any oil would probably work) on your finger or a q-tip and use it to soak the ends of the bandaids. The oil will break down the adhesive so it comes off easily and pain free!

Hanna & Shane...thank you for allowing me into your life. In September 2015 I was diagnosed with MS. I moved back to my hometown in Jauary (2020) to have family close by... I don't want to be anyone's burden (all me!) They are terrific!
I am in a wheelchair and have had some 'bathroom' accidents. I know my family wants to help. How do I tell them I'm embarrassed but need help without humiliating me or them? I wear Disposable underwear...the leaks are a horrifying 🤫

Your goal in life should be how you can constantly improve yourself as a human being. Focus on yourself first and build a strong foundation. Mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. And when the 'time' is right, the universe will bring the right person into your life whose vibration will exactly match yours. If you're always searching for the 'love' that you want, chances are you'll keep on attracting the wrong people. Instead, let go of all expectations and invest time on your own growth. The universe will definitely do its magic.

The flow of this video had been the best yet. Between the banter, the cooing, loving verbal exchanges and the hilarious sarcasm, I was captivated. The only missing jewel was Shane singing. Hannah's beauty is never missing. Whether she's experiencing static electricity, unfortunate lighting, or intermittent bouts of the "Crud" (As my doctor refers to sniffles and such). Shane your little white lies and Hannah's "Nopes" are becoming classic "Squirmy and Grubs". I listen to each and every one of your TH-cam vlogs on my tablet, with earbuds in. Last night, laying next to my husband in bed, I was watching your bandaid removal episode, and involuntarily burst into laughter when Shane popped on with the box cutter to remove Hannah's bandaid. 🤣🤣 I am 57 and living with M.S. and my husband is 62 with T2 diabetes. You both are so inspiring to us and the world at large. I read L.A.M.N. (lu-lu-loved it) and am currently reading P.T.M.G.I.M.N (equally loving it) on my NEW Kindle Oasis from Amazon splurge 😁😁. Any who, I'm, guessing/hoping your news is Squirmy and Grubs have a script and a movie offer for a major motion picture, starring Shane and Hannah. OR you've locked in a date for an epic wedding and we're all invited. Then there's the very real possibility that Hannah is preggers, as the royals call it. This news would also be wonderful, but I'm not putting my money on that one. Love, love, love you both. I bought two books Shane. Now SING LITTLE MAN! No pressure. 🤣🤣🤣

Dog maybe. But I very much doubt Hannah is pregnant. She has said she wants to go back to school and get her Masters. Masters degrees are so much more work than getting your Bachelors. My Bachelors was heck on earth to get as a single mom. My Masters? I doubted my sanity at times. I worked full time, was a mom, had a relationship, and got my Masters. Sleep? Not much at all.

I’ve been cooking my own food every day for years, and that about once every other month where i get to have takeout feels so amazing. Its like my version of a vacation.
Agreed..I have to make 3 meals a day and been doing so for 16 years taking care of my mom...but that once in a while going out or getting take out is so much appreciated!!❤❤😉
@@helenwilliams9920 its only recently that I even started being able to get food that i havent cooked. From like 2010 to 2018 I cooked every meal I ate, with the only exceptions being holidays. And I even cooked the vast majority of the holidays as well. Being able to eat something I didnt cook feels like a miracle.

Helen Williams The sad thing is that as of just recently I now have money to go out with, but i moved to an area where all the restaurants are awful so its not even worth it. The food around here is like microwaved tv meal quality. :(. I hear people say ‘try this place!’ and i go there and its just so bad. Its like that tv show kitchen nightmares quality. 😂 I moved here from new york so its a huge culture shock to have no restaurants. I’m used to not going to them because i had no money, but im not used to not even having the option.
