AmnScottNN you'd be surprised how light a truck can be if you know what you're doing. It's not like the old days when the only options were fiberglass and only removing dead weight.
PORKER skank It depends on how far you want to go really. If you still want it to be a street vehicle then I'd suggest not going with full fiberglass or carbon fiber front clip or doors, they get ruined fast on the street. Typically you can get out around 300 to 400lbs by a carbon hood, lighter wheels, removing spare tire, switching to a roll pan, removing various brackets, switching to lighter suspension, exhaust and any unneeded interior pieces. You could take out anywhere from 1000 to 1500lbs by stuff mentioned above along with a carbon panels, lighter seats, removing a/c, air box, unneeded wiring, glass bumpers ect. If you're wanting to go crazy you could remove up to 2000lbs maybe more by doing all this along with a tube chassis, lexan, removing bed floor, door panels, basically everything that isn't used to go fast but like I said, it's all about how far and fast you wanna go.
The trucks actually ran extremely well against those cars lol Factor in weight and aerodynamics and of course the cars are gonna pull. Damn nice trucks
Nice trucks, I plan on putting a pro charged 6.2 in my 08 crew cab Silverado. Bepushing 950+ HP. Fast on the streets and keep my 3.5inch suspension lift to get through some mud for fishing or whatever. 🙌🏼
I have an 03 5.3 GMC Envoy I'd love to turbo. I can actually use the Trailblazer SS turbo kit since they are pretty much the same chassis, and I can use the 4L60 to 4L80 conversion mount too (if I wanted to swap the trans). I like the TBSS but they are a thief magnet

For the comments about trucks not being good enough... It's about them just not packing enough. Their going against cars with bigger engines that are also packing boost. The Caddy and Hellcat's weigh close to the same as the trucks, but aerodynamics aren't helping as well as the small motors. It was impressive the 4.8L truck was easily as quick as the 6.0L truck. Props to the tuner for sure. Good video, nice racing.
lots of people also forget that these trucks usually only have 4 speeds whereas these other vehicles have 6-10 speed transmissions. and its not any secret that 4l60's and 4l80's dont really have the best gearing for racing to say none the least.
