I've added this trade to my Buy list on your recommendation Michael, and on the credit that Geoff Johns and Gary Frank have built up with me through previous work (especially Frank, whose work is beautifully clean and who deserves greater recognition). You're right about DC's habit of constantly redoing origins and creating unnecessary crises, it's disruptive and destabilising for fans.
I reviewed SECRET ORIGIN with two other reviewers on Superman Homepage when the miniseries first came out. I loved it. Furthermore, I currently review ACTION COMICS there and have reviewed the George Reeves TV show, the 1940s radio show, and various comics on that site - including NEW 52 SUPERGIRL, POST-REBIRTH JUSTICE LEAGUE and some Bronze Age comics. In other words, I'm obsessed with Superman in a forms of media. I remember long ago days when comic books were a window into imaginative worlds. These days, I don't have to save 15 cents and get to a store, I just fire up my word processor and summon what interests me. But I remember the exuberance fondly.
I really loved this one. I loved the reintroduction of Superboy and the Legion of Superheroes, as well as the overall Silver Age vibe that I got from this. It's a crying shame that this is no longer canonical.
Golly gee Mr Vaughan .. that looks a lot different to The Krypton Chronicles, DC just keep rewriting stuff, no wonder I'm lost. Not sure Steve Donoghue will like this one, he sure does love that Superboy trapped in amber, forever in Cheeseville .. a more fun and wholesome era of comicdom.
Sold. I have not read this, but will get it. You can never go wrong with Geoff Johns. Have you read his Green Lantern secret origin? That one was phenomenal. The art looks pretty incredible in this one too.
Even if I were a fan of the Christopher Reeves movies (which I'm not), I would find it an odd choice to draw the character to resemble the actor. But at least the costume is right!
Zorro is a great name for a dog.
His COSTUME is hard to believe? 🤣
Superman may not be as "cool" as other heroes, but he's still my fave. I like that he's not all edgy, brooding, etc. Also, your pup's really cute.
A lot of Superman lately! I'm tempted to dig out all my old Silver Age DCs now and relive my childhood.
Just picked up Secret Origins. Going in!!

I think it would be perfectly alright next week to talk about both the comic and the movie.

Looks like it could be a good one for the Superman newbies.
At this point we should just program a Geoff Johns AI to write all our books and comics 🤷🏻♂️
Good idea!

Lex being from Smallville is an instant fail. I like him being a son of Metropolis, who’s city has been invaded by Superman.
not clark kent .....thats a plot armour

It is actually Canon again
Is it!? It’s hard to keep track.
@@michaelk.vaughan8617 Yess! Ever since Superman Reborn in 2017 and stories after have folded back in a lot of pre-Flashpoint continuity.
Stately Vaughn Manor has gone to the dogs!
It has!
I’m doing the Superman challenge too, started today with Silver Age!
Wow! Let me know how it goes!
I'm surprised dc hasnt released a superman by geoff John's Omnibus. He has written quite a bit of superman material. Anyway great vid!
Hello Michael Hello. Interesting video about the first and foremost Superhero!
I also love birthright. It's my favorite superman story!

Yeah, that was great!
The constant reboots of the DC Universe annoy the hell out of me.
Me too.
thanks
Never read that one. Probably good but they should never have S boy Clark!!
I would love to hear your and Steve's opinion about Asterios Polyp by David Mazzucchelli
