I have both and can tell the tweeter is noticeably clearer but the bass isn’t as strong on the mkii vs LSR at lower volume. That means you can turn up the mkii more without distortion. Just my non-pro opinion. The woofer surround is a little different on the mkii being softer vs the lsr which is more stiff.
@@YannGuillermou you can use a cable with a stereo jack in one end, splitting to two RCA jacks to plug into the speakers. It's a pretty common cable setup.
Hello, I would like to ask about the frequency response of these best seller PAs, at around 45-55Hz. Is there any noticeable rattling comming out of the bass output?
Hello! How are you? I just bought the same ones. They sound great, but have Hiss noise in the driver, without even plugging in anything. Simply by connecting it to the current. Do you have a similar problem, is it normal? Can anything be done? greetings and thanks! .
It's normal. To remove that hiss you'd need to shell out significantly more cash. Buying unpowered speakers, a higher end external amp, it gets absurd very quickly.
Could be dirty power maybe? Try turning off your other electric devices connected to the mains. Especially light switches, they can really mess with amplifiers
is it possible to connect 2 pairs of those 306P MkII or 305? BTW my new Samsung TV has only HDMI inputs... no RCA.... basically instead of using a receiver that it connected to my TV optical output. I want to bypass the receiver and connect 2 pairs of those 306P MkII or the 305... is it possible?
The monitors are independent. Actually, they're sold in units, not pairs. You can use many of them in a surround system if you wish, as long as you have multiple outputs.
@@PetrisonRocha I know they're sold in pairs. and I understand they have bluetooth. if my understanding is correct? than I have only one option. since these speakers do not an optical input. and I can only hook them up using bluetooth. but bluetooth will only support 1 device at time. I wanted to buy 2 sets. (otherwise 4 speakers) the only cable output of cable can come from my PC. maybe I was not clear. I want 4 speakers hooked up to my TV. that's where my PC is also hooked into. right now I'm using an AV receiver with optical out from the TV. so when I switch between cable TV and PC I can hear thru the speakers connected to my receiver. I think I'm going to need a some sort of a converter box. since the new TV's don't have anything aside from HDMI inputs.
@@PetrisonRocha well. in that case you saved me a big headache. I almost bought them. thinking they do support bluetooth. JBL is not giving specific details on these speakers.. (confusing ) info on Amazon. thanks for help 👍
@@JadeB628 Why would they give details that the speaker doesn’t have??? If a product listing doesn’t say anything about Bluetooth, then it doesn’t have Bluetooth???
As a 4x Grammy nominated artist/producer, I chucked my expensive monitors for the series 3 - 5 and 8" ones and am glad I did. Know thy monitors ....
The glossy panel is a bad idea looks cheaper
agreed
Looks better imo

love my LSR's, and they have gone up in price since 2014, ack.
YES, these have become somewhat of a standard
@@homestudiogearreviews I didn't know that.
24k and 23 db headroom on 1st gen got mine for 150 used a pair
Nice review, you know what your talking about
I appreciate that!
looks like the mki was higher spec'd in frequency range
Great review, keep it up🙏🏻
Thanks, will do!
Awesome review man!
Glad you enjoyed it!
nice work boy, I really like the mk2s
can I use the JBL 305 P with just TRS cable to my phone? or do I need an amplifier
You can. The monitor is amplified already.
@@PetrisonRocha how about the phone output? surely it's not sending balanced mono
