Now if S&W would re-release the 329 NiteGuard🤔
would buy one asap
There's one for sale in Texas , in the Tyler area so I've seen online.
@@4226oakI'm sure its long gone by now, but what site was it on? Gunbroaker?
I have one. Recoil is pretty rough, not gonna lie. But it's my carry gun and I love it! Would be better if it had a titanium cylinder instead of a stainless one.
I can't decide...aw hell I'll just carry my 686+ LOL
Love my model 329PD. Hogue grip like yours too. Mag-Na-Ported with quad porting and use a model 629 stainless steel replacement cylinder instead of the titanium one. The titanium can get pitted and eroded after the finish is compromised. Stainless steel is a little heavier but more durable and trouble-free.
What's your new weight?
Changing to a heavier weight cylinder does it effect the timing at all? 🤔
Love my 69 now that S&W fixed all the problems. It’s also my sleep number. Hope to have a 329pd one day.
What problems were corrected with the model 69? I heard they had some problems. The model 329PD has a stainless steel plate in the top strap to keep erosion from hurting the frame. It is held by the front screw that anchors the rear adjustable sight through the top strap.
@@jeffreylocke8808 Hey Jeffrey, it was a list. The rifling came out past the barrel. Apparently they forgot to cut the crown. It was so sharp you could probably cut a plug out of your thumb if you were to press and twist.
The cylinder gap was excessive. The hammer scraped the right side of the frame to the point it grooved the hammer. The front sight was pinned crooked and damaged. When I got it back everything was repaired, but the front sight pin keep backing out after just a few shots. Had to pay my local gun smith to fix that. Every Smith I've purchased in the last 5 years all had to go back. That's the deal when you buy new from the internet.
I love my 69. It’s my new carry gun ever since I bought it. I use a $20 leather belt from target and don’t notice it.
I have the model 69, and it's a beast. I definitely plan on adding the 329 to my collection, just got to find one.
I carry my Model 57-5 4" Mtn Gun in the Craft Roto Shoulder Holster.....fantastic!! I even carry my 57 8 3/8 bbl in it. The Roto makes it easy.
Believe it or not my best friend bought one and we each shot a cylinder full on that one day. I told him if you ever decide to sell it lemme have first crack at it. The MF’r just gave it to me and I spent two hours trying to talk him out of it.
I have the model 69 and I prefer it because I've seen warnings about some ammo with guns that are not all steel
Your missing out man, now you need to fill yer pocket with a 360pd to round out the carry options..
I wish hogue would make compact tamer grips for people with smaller hands and dont need the long grip
Agreed, a round butt grip style would be nice as well.
Would love to find a 329 Night Guard.
I love 44's, I own a 629 4" a 329pd and a 69 2.75" and i like all of them but i RARELY shoot magnum loads, I much prefer 44 Specials
I looked at the sig 44spl box. It has energy levels right there with 380auto and 38spl.
What a useless round
I dont know where your getting your info but read up on some Buffalo Bore ammo ballistics...the light loads you speak of would be a mild load intended for target practice wouldn't you think?
@@jeffreyhall838 it's printed on the side of the Sig ammunition 44 special box I have at home.
Sure Double Tap, Buffalo Bore, and Underwood make the good stuff
@@jeffreyhall838 if you're going to pay $1 plus per shot, no sense in purchasing weak rounds, unless you're rolling your own
Always best to load your own if you can
Be cool to see them in the holster....on your person Just to get an idea of conceal ability.
Jb429421 I thought about that I might do a part two this one was starting to get a little long so I had to cut some stuff
@@SlimCowboy Nice! I'll be watching for it.
I’d like to see the shoulder rigs you are using
I just found out that they also made a 329PD with a 2.5 inch barrel called the alaskan backpacker IV. Its on gun broker right now for 2000$
I’m a big guy and I was kinda concerned about the size and weight of the 69 but I got one with a good leather iwb holster and a nexbelt and it disappears when I put it on my 3 o’clock, super comfortable, even more so than my p365, the grip fits right under a fat roll and it conceals better for me than even the smaller lighter micro size sig p365, would recommend especially for big guys
Edit: I shoot a lot of big bore guns so I’m used to the recoil, if you’re recoil sensitive I would not recommend magnums, stick to a good .44 special loading. Also craft holsters makes a good iwb leather holster for the 69
@Leon Wilcox I got mine from craft leather, very similar, I really like it
My M329PD fits a lot if not of all of my M29 holsters. Good video.
Arent the 29, 629, and 329 the exact same shape and size?
@@PeterAngles-jq7grRoughly, but some have a full underlug, others half of one.
Got the pd on my hip. Favorite to carry
Nice, what holster do you use?
Great video
How much more kick is the m329PD over a Model 29 6 1/2 barrel? Is it that noticeable?
Yes, the 329 is much stiffer recoil
One is described as brutal recoil and the other just a little stiff
Good review
Where did you get the od green grips on the 329?
Lol sorry commented before I watched the video. Been searching for a set of those for my 500 for a long time
Yeah I’m ashamed to admit what I had to pay for this set but given that I get asked where I got them multiple times a week I guess it was worth it lol
First ☝
Excellent video !👍
Very Nice Pistols !🔫

I like the m69 but must throw out that stupid grip, way too big.
