Littke bit disingenuous since he just got a big buff last patch, definitely was before. Still has major problems imo, damage is the least of them. There is a gap in almost every single one of his strings for example.

Honestly I don't like Sareena and feel Lao is better in every way since you get more damage over all with Vortex. But he's being carried to mid tier with the Kameos. I look at what Sub Zero can do alone and compare to S+ Tiers, then what he can do with that Kameo. Then I compare the best characters with that Kameo to Sub and see what they get comparatively. Sub Zero has many many flaws alone and doesn't get anything other S+ Tiers don't have, and they do it better. One thing he has is HTB Vortex and a low damage throw into clone setup and okay damage with Sareena which isn't that good since it doesn't make his B2/B3 safe and makes them non hit confirmable And is punished by most characters. S+ Tier characters are more than viable and can use most Kameos competitively. Sub Zero does not fit that bill. He's mid tier with this tech IMO Pretty much everything done on this video is punishable by the entire cast! His divekicks are punished on reaction by UpBlock and Backdash into punisher. They are -21 on Wiff! His BF2 is jump in punishable on reads. Has gaps in every string he has 1•2, 2•1, 1•2•2, 2•1•2, 3•4, 4•4, B3•4 and F12•3 all Gap's shown with • His Clone is punishable on reaction.
I respect your opinions brother... But in my opinion sareena remains the best kameo for sub because she makes sub's Overhead cancellable safe.... You can combo with his low attack too and can drain your opponent's meter in the corner which is really helpful... Sub's Overhead is too slow to be used as a vortex with lao hat... It barely works... @@StarK_Takahashi although I agree with you, it’s not b2 you use the vortex with, it’s off the freeze after the aerial 21. You use a jump 2 with the Lao hat and it’s creates a very hard-to-blockable with so much set-up time it’s almost always guaranteed to fill up Lao’s hat for the next combo

You need to connect the 2nd B2 as fast as possible so that the opponent attains maximum height... Then you need to do J21 into delayed ice klone it'll work dude

Great video, but the character is definitely bottom tier next to Scorpion. It's very easy to counter Sub. All it takes is block low 90% of the game, react to the overhead, get a free full combo, and don't press random buttons to get caught by dive kick, and its an easy dub.
@@StarK_Takahashi if his overhead was safe on block, that would be a very nice change and it should be given since a lot of characters have safe overheads that go into combos. Maybe even speed up the move itself so it’s not the easiest move to react to in the game.
Tbh, if sub gets good frame data, he’ll have no weaknesses really. He has decent to good zoning depending on matchup, really good damage, decent mixup game in neutral, and a really strong wake-up especially against top tiers like Johnny who can’t parry it.
@@jaiden3473 his damage is mediocre but he can get decent damage with certain kameos but characters shouldn’t have to rely on a kameo to make the character good the characters should be good on its own…like pairing sub with a top tier kameo still doesn’t make sub zero good he’s still arguably the worst character in the game still tied with scorpion 🦂 🧊

Think sub zero is only viable bc of kameos. His kit and some of his moves are pretty bad and have him lose momentum. I use sareena bc of good damage but overall as a character he's pretty bad
If you want to have some fun with sub you could use Sonya as his kameo as he creates a 50/50 of almost every string he has and every string can combo into some good damage, when you realize the opponent is almost dead but sadly you need to spend meter to utilize her for the full potential, but that's the reason is fun as if the other player doesn't know a whole lot of sub's gaps then you can truly see the potential but is only if :b
I have played Sub/Sonya before... I know the potential but I just believe that sareena is all over a better kameo for sub... But for a change I'll play Sonya too
@blasian318 easy, some of sub's strings end in overheads, so, you are creating a 50/50 situation by deciding if you are going to land the overhead or the low slide sub has and the EX version of the latter kinda launches and Sonya can come in with the hit and a follow up combo to which can deal like 25% if land correctly, everytime, yes, the opponent can always expect that and why wouldn't they? But still a single hit every now and then can turn a round all together, it is worth trying but not often and sure the punish can be very high or insanely low but still worth having than none existent
MK Tom Brady would disagree just because the clone isn’t completely brain dead and has counter play to it. He need it to be as obnoxious as it was in X for him and the other sub mains to stop crying that he’s low tier he’s literally not.
Bro the clones hitbox is so bad that attacks literally whiff through it. Its not about the clone "not being braindead" it was generally just a bad move. But the buffs helped it out a lot.

His Dive Kick was nerfed this patch, you can now up block the Dive Kick for a full combo punish no matter where he lands the Dive Kick, if you up block it it's a full combo punish
