    That was a creative opening. Good job.

    Also pedestrian/bike roads (8-12 wide cobblestone or whatever) can help condense the city where cars don't really, truly need to go. Also might be cheaper to have that light blue bike path than endless roads and allows you to use road plates as spacers, tower/shop rooves and back wall fillers! :D

      This is genius. I may have to utilize this to free up some space in the city.

    its interesting to see various buildings in various spots where it fits and kind of not but least is different as well. been trying do that with my own lego city when time permits.

    The hospital is actually only like $70 and it’s definitely worth it.

    You could change black tiles of city centre to brown

    Vancuver style Point Towers are a good way to fill in the middle of shop blocks. Just take a tower facade build and build it in that middle vacant space. Alpine1 has a few videos on point tower design and MRBookieBoo has good facade ideas!

      @NewBrickerton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love this. I think a facade tower would be perfect for that section, I've got a an additional mini modular to put in there.

    Awesome stuff! Do you only use genuine Lego pieces for your Lego city build? Why or why not? I’m planning on doing a lego city it’s way cheaper with fake legos obviously…just wondering if it’s still worth doing without genuine legos. Do other TH-camrs have Lego cities with fake legos?

    • @NewBrickerton
      @NewBrickerton  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bob! I certainly use brick building products of any brand as long as they are compatible LEGO knockoffs. Lego city building requires a ton of parts so I prefer to use off-brand parts where I can get away with it as it saves a lot of money over time. LEGO bricks are the best quality of any product, so a lot of people only use official LEGO, but for me, I just want to build a city as quickly and cheaply as possible so I'll use anything.
      Tip 5 of my video on how to build a lego city on a budget recommends some lego city building products that i've used that aren't actually lego products. Feel free to check it out! and good luck on BUILDING YOUR CITY!!! :D th-cam.com/video/nF9awZCThy8/w-d-xo.html

    How many friends sets do you have in your city?
    I am still apprehensive about using friends sets.

    the part of the city where you have the harry potter sets and which has a small park in front of it reminded me a bit of jackson square in new orleans, maybe you can draw inspiration for your city from that type of square, the name of that type of square is: Plaza de armas.

    • @NewBrickerton
      @NewBrickerton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's fascinating, I looked it up and I love this! I do like to take inspiration from real life. Thank you for the info!

    Eliminate some of the roads. One, if your city is surpose to be a green one you should aim to reduce traffic as much as possible. Two, you will gain more space for buildings, increase that land use density. Third, look at how Dutch cities approach sustainable neighbourhoods, bike-lanes, pedestrians given priority of vechales, connecting alleyways, trees and urgen greenery , mixed use between small commercial and residential (looks like you have a lot of that going on already)

    • @DarthHugsALot
      @DarthHugsALot 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lastly, one more dpace saving tip. Go with an urban trolley car / tram. By far and away tbe greenest, most sustainable public transport option for any city. That would replace your rail line and make use of the roadways for the tram route.

      really appreciate the thoughtful comments. I'm hoping to get a train soon which will alleviate some of these problems by providing accessible transportation. Really appreciate your thoughts!!

    Hi! I would not bloc the back of the lifeguard stand, only would use fence elements, or a two bricks high wall. The grey building should be turned into a police station, but maybe I would decrease the width of it, in order to get a place for another building. Apart from these I like your plans! 🙂
