@@FastGardeningMichigan thank you again! I started to grew 2 already in februar, but did some mistakes :(
your tips were really helpful! especially the concept of vernalization , i wasnt aware of it and already accepted my faith to wait at least 1 more year to see them.
but you should really eat them. The ones from the jar out of the supermarkt are aweful (this are also 99% those used in restaurants or on pizza or whatever when you already came across artichokes this way), but fresh ones are great and taste way better.
just steam cook them for 1h as a whole till they are soft.
then you can pick the leaves and dip them in all kind of sauces =)

I started them early last year and they got root bound. I'd prefer plants half the size before transplant.

I need to get me a soil blocker gadget...didnt know they existed! Thanks for that...and love artichokes! I didnt think about growing them. Do you grow asparagus by chance? Seems like it was difficult or took more than a year also?
    Great info, thanks!

I have a large area of asparagus that came with the house. Probably 10+ years old. It takes 3 years before you can harvest. Im adding more next year

Hi! Just found your channel and watched about pruning sunflowers.
I have another question. Do I pinch my branching ones like Lemon Queen. I found one video that says yes but naturally I am very afraid to do it 😊

I'm not familiar with pinching branches. I know pinching the top leader off encourages side growth to make plants bushier.
