I really enjoy your videos John. Please keep them coming. Re: Glu-bot: I have used one for over a year now for woodworking and one of the best things about it is that you can hold the bottle at different angles and the glue will most often continue to flow, even if bottle is vertical.
I agree--I just hated the manufacturer bottles which force you to use them upside down or not at all. Now I can hold the bottle vertically and apply glue to the edge of a board with ease.
Do your video really helped because I had it and I didn't know why it wasn't working and then I realized oh I have to cut the tip off and so I just cut the minimum amount off the end and it started working instantly.
As opposed to storing the red cap on top of the yellow bottle cap during actual glue,-up I use CA to place a rare earth magnet towards the base of the bottle and place another on the red cap. This way the red cap always stays out of the glue you are laying down and dont have to take the time to always place the red cap on the yellow cap during glue-ups.
I came her to find out how to use the darn thing… I filled the bottle and squeezed the life out of it and no glue would push through… as soon as you said the tip was adjustable I quickly realized you had to cut it because it’s not pre cut… idiot moment. Thanks for the assist. Lol
I haven't had that issue, I wonder if it's the glue you are using? Sometimes I'll be forgetful and leave the bottle on it's side or not put the cap on, but any dried glue pops right off. I usually fill back up when it's down to 1/4 of a bottle.
An empty bottle that costs more than a full one. And stops working when the level falls- because the air leaks out past the main cap when you squeeze. Very poor moulding.
One of the Worst product I have ever bought. Red cap lasted 6 days until it warped and did not fit. Tip wore out due to contact with gluing surfaces (poor, cheap plastic), Daily cleaning of tip due to hardened glue, Lid O-ring deteriorated and broke, glue inside hardened, clumped up and bottle became useless. A sturdy Ketchup/Mustard bottle FAR superior. Anyone that disagrees is NOT using the Glubot on a regular basis in real world conditions.
I'm surprised to read your disappointment. My first bottle of the two that came in the original pack has lasted until just recently--about four years. That's in use in my shop, doing pro-level volume. It is true that sometimes glue will harden in the tip, but the type of plastic they use allows easy release. I just use a pick and it pops right out. I don't let the tip rub on the workpiece, though, so perhaps that makes a difference.
@@enduringcharmPossibly the older bottles are made from stronger materials? Some manufacturers do change production to save money after making lots off an previous popular item... Both of mine failed the same way. I am using a Chef Oil bottle with a hinged cap. 6 months and a gallon and a half of glue so far.
Those alternatives can work, but i wouldn't say they are better. This dispenser works without the need to turn it upside down and the type of plastic used allows any dried glue to peel off easily.
Thanks John. Have seen a lot of woodworkers use these and always have good things to say about them.

Glad it helped!
Yep felt equally stupid and then realised “oh it’s closed”. So much better than the bottle glue comes in.

The washer thats supposed to seal the cap doesnt last long. Its very thin. When the washer goes you get air and glue when you squeeze.
Thanks for the vid. Don't sweat the centering self mishap haha.
After using several of these I've decided they are good for a shop, or on a bench as they don't hold up in a work truck/van.
I could understand that. I usually don't carry glue with me anyway unless I know I'll need it that day.
Thank you sir.
Would have been great to see it in use
It is shown in this video being used: th-cam.com/video/g7XRK-xTUes/w-d-xo.html
I did go ahead and order one using your link. Your talent is unmatched! The table is awesome. At what time stamp is the glue used?
Mine wont squeeze out, is there a trick to getting it going??
Did you trim the sealed plastic tip to allow the glue to come out?
@@enduringcharm literally figured that out just after I posted this....duh me!
It's been out for ages I've got 3 of them for different types of glue I use
Good idea, having one for each glue type.
I hate mine. Always gets clogged, have to clean it after every use, doesn’t dispense if it’s half empty.

They sell these over here in the Uk but they ask for $28 per bottle. I guess that's why it's known as "Rip Off Britain"
$20 a bottle in Australia

I haven't had any issue with mine, and I'm still using my first bottle even though they shipped two originally.
It needs a roller attachment.

Self centering bottle is not a feature
Lol...I will just use a free used mustard or detergent bottle Works better and costs nothing. Plus the used mustard bottle lasts forever...
