LAST DAYS ON THE DUSY ERSHIM TRAIL
We have a couple more days to go on the challenging Dusy Ershim Trail, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Jason has a busted axle shaft but we must keep going. There are plenty of obstacles to tackle ahead too...Its our turn to cook at camp tonight so we whip up a masterpiece of canned chili, we then got some sleep and headed out early in the morning in hopes of getting through this trail without any more breakdowns...but do we??? Stay tuned...

Nice video you guys. Just curious, as an owner of a ‘23 392, is it possible to snip-off the harmonic balancer rubber ring when it comes loose instead of having to unbolt the balancer off the driveshaft to slip off the ring?

It was truly an amazing adventure with the best folks around. There will be a Day 3 coming next week. A long series for us but it’s a multi-day trail and each day deserves its own place here. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Having completed the Rubicon, this trail is on the list for next big adventure! Thanks for sharing!

lol @ the photo bomb at 0:33 okay back to the video
@@DeanJohnson67 We told them we’re putting it in our video and they laughed their heads off, we had to do it!
At 38:37, did anyone find a good line for that spot?
@@Matt-en3mv our Trail Boss and those on 40’s didn’t need help I believe, the two of us on 37’s def struggled.
@ yeah rear shock mounts on the JL’s like to catch on Thompson hill. Did either of the 2 on 37’s go hard driver on the taller rock and drive up?
@@Matt-en3mv You mean that very first one presumably? I (Stephanie) did but just couldn’t get grip, that silt was the end of us. We hope to do it again sometime, we want revenge!
@ the rock that he’s resting his left leg on at 39:03. Both times I ran Thompson Hill on our last trip, I climbed it with driver front then dropped down into the crevice just to the left of his foot and that’s where I found the best traction. That silt offers no traction, Little Rock’s just get thrown, but the big rocks are a god send if you can find your angles.

Dusy was so Dusty. Didn't like all the "bobble-head" rocks. But had a great time. I was a day ahead of your trip. My favorite part was from Ershim Lake out. More challenging fun stuff. You make a comment that not a lot of jeeps come through, but mainly Sxs. Actually SXS are not allowed on that trail. Jeeps run it daily, of there is a problem with the trail, please reach out to the Adopt a Trail sponsor for that specific trail.
@@SLSAdventurrs our buddy was thinking it’s was traveled more by SXS’s I think because so many spots were tight with the trees/shrubs but yeah, we never saw a SXS, in fact we saw very few people at all. How funny, you do the same thing we do with their is a traffic dam on the hwy. Take the dirt roads. LOL
back in the early 2000's we would run this trail a few times a year on Cherokees with 31 inch tires. this trail has changed a lot in the last 10-15 years. pretty much need a 35 minimum to make this trail now.
@@a1racer441 we agree, the rutted out sections are deeper than they look here and many are really off camber, not a great combo if you don’t have clearance.

happens to the best of us lol btw I would highly recommend you get hydro assist I bet the JL boxes are beefy but if you fight your steering wheel every time you will end up snapping something.. I tapped my original box and locked or side ways no issues turning and taking stress of the steering box.. also I noticed you guys in the US don't tend to air down.. Here in Israel I run Bias ply treps and I freely air them down to 3 psi to let it just have max grab you guys don't seem to go lower than like 8.. try airing down more you will see world of difference. anyway great video I enjoyed it !
