I recently plugged back in my echo show once not using it for a while and it wasn’t responding , I watched this video and reconnected to the Wi-Fi and it fixed it!!!
I've done absolutely everything you can do including factory reset the bloody thing and I still can't get a response.... you call out Alexa and nothing happenes, you can scream at it, yell at it, sit next to it and yell at it, it's absolutely infuriating!!! It controls everything in my bloody house and I have to keep going up to it and pushing mute on and off to force it to work!!! I have two of them and one works perfectly in the one in my bedroom has decided that it no longer responds to the wake word!! And then I see here that you're demanding the customers that we buy another Echo Show!!! Absolutely not Amazon fix the problem!!!
Sooo you're pretty much yelling at her like you yell at your Alexa Ehco Show because yours is not working for some helpful tips provided that may or may not help fix the issue? Got'darn Karen.
None of the things worked in the video it has to be a software update ever since my Echo Show updated it would not respond to me if I restart it it will start talking back but maybe for a few minutes and then stop replying
Yes it's a software bug and I have no idea why they're not fixing it it's ridiculous minds been acting up for a while don't even restart it just hit the mute button a few times then it will start replying back you for a moment
My issue is a bit different... After booting the Echo Show 5 works fine, all voice commands are heard. But then about 3 to 5 minutes later, it is almost impossible for the voice command to be heard, and you have to shout "ALEXA!!" 😆 for anything to happen. It working perfectly after boot means that it is not a hardware issue, but a software issue. I'm on the latest version of OS.
I’m thinking maybe it’s a software issue. Weve never had this issue until the last few days as well. Only thing that seems to temporarily fix it is manually muting it then unmuting it.
My Echo show 5 is deaf too, my other Echo devices (Echo flex) in the other rooms can hear me when I shout out at my Echo show 5 in the living room. Miss my 3rd Echo dot when I traded in for this piece of crap......😤

I'm glad I'm not the only one but only one of my Alexa shows is having the problem.
Having the same problem. Just got my Echo 5 and it's deaf as a post.
Had no idea that the mute button muted the mic as well. Thanks a lot for the fix.

Hi Michael, You can try resetting the Echo Show completely then setting it up again, it could fix the software glitch that is causing the issue.

I literally have tried everything and I have threw it a couple times out of complete frustration!!!! It’s annoying as Hell
