I almost always experience extreme head- and sidewinds while flying in career mode. Added to that is the turbulence factor, which often is too extreme IMO; it often feels like you are in a rollercoaster at a fun fair. It's as if it is meant to make it harder to achieve your goals.

For tip number 2, are you clicking the button on your EFB to "Send flightplan to ATC" and "Send flight plan to avionics"? both these are important to do during the mission SETUP screen... not when your already in the plan. Everytime ive done this the ATC has always respected my cruise altitude within 1000ft. So with a cessna 172 i will set it in the EFB to 60FL, and somtimes the ATC will ask me to fly to 7,000 ft which is still fine in a 172. But generaly once you start the mission and your doing the walkaround, any changes to the flight plan wont be repsected by ATC but you will still be able to send it to your avionics.
Tip number 4. if your on PC you can hold Left Alt and then click on any display (glass or steam) in the cockpit to give you an external and interact-able (if its touchscreen) window which you can have in the corner of your display or move to a second monitor if you have one. I use this for my co-pilot MFD so i can see my groundspeed much more easily.

Yes. I do this as s matter of routine. No changes, because i assume it is already preloaded. I just call up the EFB and press both before starting off - but to my mind we should not have to do anything....what we don't have are clear instructions! IFR flights behave differently. I get no altitudes in the FPlan but I do get call outs on the way. Thanks for watching. Good point re 4 as another option, and worth including - I have done this before but I find it can be distracting to glance across, especially if you are using increased sim rate. All depends on your setup. I'll add this to the comments in the description. Tx.

I also found out (the hard way) that when you have done all your pre-flight checks and requested and been given taxi clearance, if the blue guidance brackets do not appear, just abort the mission, else you get thrown out the mission and pay a penalty "for not executing the required pre-flight preparations". Which can be infuriating after having gone through all that effort.

I did the fast travel on a few airports and no missions opened up. Maybe a bug?
