The KY-28 is part of the NESTOR family of secure voice systems developed by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA). It was primarily used in aircraft and ships to provide secure voice communication during the Vietnam War and the Cold War2. The NESTOR system also included the KY-8 for vehicular and afloat applications and the KY-38 for portable or man-pack use2.
The KY-28 was designed to encrypt voice communications and ensure secure communication in tactical environments. It was eventually replaced by the VINSON secure voice family2.
If you have any more questions or need further details, feel free to ask!

Was a F15 crew chiefs and had pilots step early for a sorry while stull doing a wheel change. Pilot had a coronary when they realised tired was held on my one nut. They thought the bolts holding the split rim together held the tire on.

A carrier flight deck is essentially a floating airfield on an aircraft carrier, where aircraft take off and land. It's a bustling and highly coordinated environment, often compared to a well-choreographed ballet. The flight deck crew wears color-coded jerseys and helmets to indicate their specific roles, making it easier to identify who does what during flight operations2.
The flight deck is equipped with catapults to launch aircraft and arresting gear to help them land safely. Innovations like the angled flight deck and ski-jump ramps have significantly improved the efficiency and safety of carrier operations.

the flight deck of an aircraft carrier is often considered one of the most dangerous places to work at sea. It's a highly dynamic and hazardous environment where aircraft are constantly taking off and landing, often in rapid succession. The combination of high-speed jets, powerful propellers, and the need for precise coordination makes it a challenging and risky workplace.
Flight deck personnel, also known as "deck crew" or "yellow shirts," are responsible for directing aircraft, handling ordnance, and ensuring the safety of both the aircraft and crew. They must be highly trained and vigilant at all times to avoid accidents and injuries.

A plane captain, often seen wearing a brown jersey on an aircraft carrier, plays a crucial role in ensuring the aircraft is ready for flight. They are responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and servicing of the aircraft before and after each flight. This includes checking fuel levels, inspecting the aircraft for any damage, and ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
Plane captains are typically young enlisted personnel, often in their late teens or early twenties, and they undergo comprehensive training to master the details of aircraft servicing and inspection. They form close relationships with the aviators, as they are one of the last people the pilot sees before takeoff and one of the first upon landing1.

The F/A-18C Hornet is a versatile, twin-engine, supersonic, all-weather, carrier-capable multirole combat jet. It was designed to serve both as a fighter and attack aircraft, which is why it's often referred to as a "strike fighter." The F/A-18C is an upgraded version of the original F/A-18A, featuring improved avionics, radar, and weapons systems.
The Hornet has been widely used by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, as well as several other countries' air forces. It's known for its agility, reliability, and ability to perform a wide range of missions, from air superiority to ground attack.

The KY-58, also known as VINSON, is a secure voice module primarily used to encrypt radio communication for military aircraft and other tactical vehicles. It was developed by the National Security Agency (NSA) and is part of the VINSON family of devices2. The KY-58 provides security for AM/FM, VHF, UHF, and half-duplex PTT combat net radios, as well as tactical wireline systems. It was initially fielded as a replacement for the KG-36 and KG-341.
