    Don't know if you'll see this but here is something I, with my limited camping background, learned: One night I was camping b/c there was "no room at the inn" and I HAD to go to the event (son's Parent Night at college). I booked a rugged campsite outside town and pitched my tent. Fast forward - middle of night - FREEZING. To stay warm, I created a tent within a tent. I took a blanket or sheet and stuck the end of it behind a pillow I stood up on end (so that it was a few inches higher than my head); I tucked the other end under my sleeping bag at my feet and tucked the sides in {while I was inside it}. So I literally had a tent over me -- not a blanket clinging to me or over my head and drawn tight. There were a few inches of space between my skull and the sheet/tent. OMG I was so warm. Solved the problem. Idea for you? Tent within your van? Betcha stay warmer that way...... :) Cheers. Hope you see this message.

    Mr. Buddy heaters take you from freezing to Surface of the sun in like 10 minutes lol

    Maybe try making yourself a hot chocolate or boil water for coffee first thing in the morning so that your stove can do the quick heat-up the Mr. Buddy used to do, then use the Wave 3 to maintain the temp. Glad it’s working well for you!

    Wow! Sorry to hear the Olympian Wave 3 was so expensive up there! You did make the right choice though. Like some of the comments below, if you have already got rid of your Mr. Buddy Heater, they make a small one you can hook into a 1 lb. propane tank, use it to quickly heat up the van in about 5 minutes or so while your Olympian Wave gets up to full power. Even a battery operated small fan will make a difference with the Olympian Wave 3. Have a very Merry Christmas!!!

    I've been dreaming of joining the "van life" for years. My Penny (dalmatian) is no longer with me and I've been pushed into overdrive to make it happen after I get my debt under control. I recently found your channel and I have to say, it's my absolute favorite. You guys are awesome, keep doing what you do, because you do it damn well.

    Good feedback on the heater. It makes sense to use the Mr. Buddy to blast some quick heat and then the Wave to maintain it. By the way, I'm the guy that introduced myself at the store in South Surrey on Friday. Cheers!

    One awesome inch says pretty much the same thing. He's thinking of keeping the Buddy heater for that quick heat up in the van and his wave 3 for the rest of the time. Take care. Love your videos.

      Hollies daddy, he's probably not big enough yet to get a paid promotion gig and if he was, he'd of probably told us that by now. If they were doing an affiliate promotion, then they will attach a link and let you know that if you follow the link and buy the product, they'll get a small percentage of the sale (because thay are an affiliate). So the fact that they both decided to do a review, at about the same time, is more likely because it's been cold, and it's a relevant topic, not because they found a way to monetize their favorite brand of heaters. Though more power to them if they do find a way to share their opinion on a product and get paid for it.

    My advise: Buy a Mr. Buddy Heater to heat your van quickly with 1 lb. tanks for about 5 minutes, & while that is occurring, turn on the Wave 3 heater & then when it is heated up quickly, turn off the Mr. Buddy & you will have "heaven" in your van (the best of both heaters)!

    • @xcake2652
      @xcake2652 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good idea. Only bad is that it takes alot of room because of vans space is very limited. And it costs alot

    • @wisconsinrailstotrailscycl4277
      @wisconsinrailstotrailscycl4277 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not if your using the Mr. Buddy for approx. 5 min. to heat up your van, then switch to the Wave 3, then he wouldn't have to wait 1/2 hour for his van to heat up. If he used the Mr. Buddy constantly, it would run into big money. All he has to do is get the "littlest" Big Buddy heater on the market to utilize space, and he is all set...

    As usual, love the video. However... no such thing as low budget insulation for anybody living outside of your area and climate. Glad the heater is working for you!!! My question for you is this. What are you doing for Christmas? Do you get to spend time with your lovely daughter? Christmas to me anyway, is about spending quality time with loved ones! I hope the holiday season is good to you no matter where you are and what you're doing. :) MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

    Make sure you get a cover for it when not in use... The inner workings have to be dust and dog hair free, or its life span will be shortened... The heating is done by chemical reaction which is altered by contaminants...

    Thanks for the first review Chrome. I wasnt aware of the lead time for heating up. Can you smell the propane after it is up and running? I cant remember but do you have a divider curtain between your cab and the living space? This may help reduce time to heat up since you have 3 large windows at the front leaking heat. Insulating curtains work very well clipped closed in the middle and maybe velcro closed at sides. Have a wonderful Christmas (Vanmas!) 🎄🎅🏻🎉

    OMG you brought back a memory. I was living in a house on the first floor and refused to use the forced air heating system. I told him my last bill was $300! I keep the temp on 69 degrees and I'm freezing my ass off! The walls have frost on them! That's insane! 😳 So what purchased 2 oil heaters (electric) worked perfectly. The following me month we had temps below zero. The pipes in the basement froze. He told me it was my fault. I told him I shouldn't be heating the basement. He then insulated the basement. I still used my heaters. I loved the setup and proximity to work, but left when lease ran out. SMH. Slumlord
