Very efficient machine. I am glad to have it. Good support by haecksler as well. I received a link to online maintenance videos at purchase so I can work on the machine while watching. Blade changing no problem but must be done properly, do not fiddle about with this. My machine throws chips 5 to 8 meteres far, depending on how much leaf is on.
I am using my small Haecksler for a few years now and I can only say that I am very happy with it. I did not expect it to be such a time and effort saver!
I now have the old model 3 and my new Haecksler 4 in use. Really love both although the newer version is a bit faster since it has a wider entry and lets us feed forked branches as well. All top gear!!

I would like to see how far it will throw thre chip, will it hit the back wall of my truck .
Blade changing is a big part of this work, a demo of this process would be good.

Hello Will, thanks and sorry for this late reaction... I will post a short video to show how far chips are thrown out: up to 7 meters. If your loading compartment is shorter than that you will have no problem ;-)
Knives change will take about 10 minutes if you've been doing this a few times or else 15 minutes. You're right; Screws on the knives often are so tight on small chippers like Haecksler that it can take a lot of effort to release them. We have successfully been mounting a new type of screw (2017) which enables an easy exchange.
It appears to be self feeding. Is it? And it's using knives/blades rather than hammers? Looks like it works extremely well but I would like to see how well it discharges in the rain or with just rained on material.
Yes it works with a rotating drum and the two knives are horizontally mounted. I can guarantee you that during rain it will work just as well. In fact, we get this question often and therefor we once have been feeding branches while emptying a bucket of water into the feeding chute: No clogging on this one.
Very impressive performance. Can these chippers be bought in the US or shipped? The 18hp is my choice.
