Yes. The springtails are simply a cleanup crew. You can certainly have an amazing terrarium without them. Also, you could go outside and find some isopods. not mandatory but helpful
@@HeaventIyno, both the plants and dead isopods can act as a food source, and course they’ll die eventually, but hopefully they’ll make a new generation before then
U can find springtails in moist areas(drift wood, whet wood in the forest or under a rock)or anything that has something to do with charcoal(in the forest) there whote with alit of arms and two antenas also white
What if I don’t add springtails (I don’t know where or how to find them :( So like will it mould? And does it need to be in sunlight to be good? For me it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t grow but idk (I’ll still spray it with water) And is it ok if there’s a skull in there, or will the skull mould? (An animal skull ofc)
you can seal the cork but it’s not a necessity. if made right, you can make permanently closed terrariums that’ll live for years. you can also leave it unsealed if you want different plants that might need trimming occasionally to not over grow
Hello, I have a biology project. I need to make a terrarium related to the desert system. I need to present it to the class. What size should it be? What kind of things can I use? This is my first time, can you give me some ideas?
if properly made, years haha. they occasionally need trimming to not over grow and cleaning the glass every couple of months depending on algae growth. if they’re air tight sealed, water maintenance isn’t an issue
@@TerrariumDesigns why you only reply to the comment with the hot girl (crearly fake account)? so many people asking stuff about this and the virgin just replies to the fake girl.

Do u need bugs or just soil in the yard might have some micro bugs in it?
No bro I think u need like a insect which eats decaying matter to stop growth of fungus.
❤ hope l helped you
You don’t need bugs but they do help
you can turn any clear container into a terreriam!
You COULD make an opaque water bottle one, it just won't be cool
exactly, we all the same amount of time in a day yet some of us use that time wrongfully which we couldve use it to achieve our dreams. everyone in this life has potential to be greater, thanks man
That's neat! It's pretty much a planet in a bottle.
I feel like this jar would loose moisture because of the cork. Nice tutorial though 👍
I'm very interested in this project. But I do not have access to the small bugs, can my terrarium do fine without it
Yes. The springtails are simply a cleanup crew. You can certainly have an amazing terrarium without them. Also, you could go outside and find some isopods. not mandatory but helpful
@@SilasLanghoff-ym2vi wont they die?
@@HeaventIyno, both the plants and dead isopods can act as a food source, and course they’ll die eventually, but hopefully they’ll make a new generation before then
Isopods eat decaying matter, moss, and plants. Moss and plants give off oxygen.
@@HeaventIy no they don't. They have blessings of lord jesus
I bought 5 scientific flasks and I’m gonna turn them into terrariums thank you with this channel for teaching me it’s incredible and I love you for it
question, how can i get spring tails and how would i know if it were the right bug?
you taste test them
aight i’ll be back
2/10 too crunchy would not recommend

I have a question, do you need to water it regularly? If so, how long? Once a day? Twice a day?
Thxxx dude it was really helpfull for my science project TwT
Can you tell me what type of LED lights are best .?
I want to start my set up but the lights are the most important.
How long will that stay well? Is there an outcome video to follow up ? Is there maintenance or future care & watering?
A bit of water from time to time won't hurt
What if I don’t add springtails (I don’t know where or how to find them :(

beautiful!
Is this some specific kind of fittonia or you can make it so small by trimming?
mini red vein fittonias
I will try to make one before summer ends! :)
wow amazing beautiful
I have a terra your size. How often should i water it❤
Are led lights the only kind of light you can use? Or any other light source can work?
how much ml jar is best?
Wowww i really wanna make thesee but what if we dont put springtails? Idk where to find them tho
What type of fittonia is that? I need one!
mini red vein fittonia
Do you seal the bottom of the cork with anything or are we good-to-go au natural?
you can seal the cork but it’s not a necessity. if made right, you can make permanently closed terrariums that’ll live for years. you can also leave it unsealed if you want different plants that might need trimming occasionally to not over grow
Do I need the springtails? I’ve never made one before and I’m gonna make one this size
It's not necessary, but with this size, I don't know what other animal you can even use.
Hey! I dont know if u still read comments by now but what animals can be in there?
Would only coco fibre work too because I have that already for my frog
Thx
For the moss and if you use epiphytic plants, yes
what small living organisms I can put in this terrarium?
Hello, I have a biology project. I need to make a terrarium related to the desert system. I need to present it to the class. What size should it be? What kind of things can I use? This is my first time, can you give me some ideas?
I'm going to make it tomorrow 😊
Hey please reply for how long it will survive after making
if properly made, years haha. they occasionally need trimming to not over grow and cleaning the glass every couple of months depending on algae growth. if they’re air tight sealed, water maintenance isn’t an issue
where can I get those springtails?
Does this substrate mix work on reptile terrariums as well?
Could you help explain what's benefit to make this, please?
It’s pretty and fun to watch as it grows
What do you feed them?
they eat decaying plant matter and molds
do you absolutely need the bugs or can you clean it by hand too like every couple of months your terrarium looks awesome btw
Can it grow without moss?
yes, moss is just a good starter plant for terrariums. ferns are also great starters
Wow..how many days it will be fresh?
they can survive for years
I love your work
Thank you!

yo chill corrupt most other ones are like 4 months ago dont be calling people that we dont know if ur one too?
Do I need to add moss or have that substrate, is it possible to just grab some dirt from my garden and water it and see if there is life in it?
That would be a very cool experiment, I would say go for it
@@OakleyRae1 cool
How do the spring tails get oxygen?
the plants in the terrarium, if made properly it creates an entire self sustaining ecosystem. you can make permanently sealed ones that can live for Years !
Can you use dirt from outside?
yes !
Wehre did you find the mos .
In the shop you can also find it on the road or on the Brunches
What’s the glass jar size?
Cool 😎
How often we must spray with water?
1 month or a few weeks
Good 👍🏼 mine just moulds :(
Can I use normal soil?
Yes you can Not soils near poop water
Are the bugs a must or can you get away without them?
bugs help with dead plants, molds and fungi. they’re basically the clean up crew that help it be more self sustaining
Where can I purchase spring tails? 🤔
petsmart and petco carry spring tails near the meal worm section for reptiles
Bugs freak me out. Are they necessary?
So would those bugs be helpful atound the house
They better pay rent
Whre do you get springtails
outside or your plants, they aren't required tho
if i use dirt from my garden should i wash it
no
Can it be not a clear box but with a clear lid
yes as long as enough light can get into it
Not the bugs😮
where can i find window mesh not from a window?
Your neighbor's window! Hope this helps!
It doesn't need a drainage layer?
no
what if i don't have springtails??
they arent required!
How about temperature?
not too hot
How long will something like this last?
Probably longer than you
few years or monthes depends on how you make it last
Which moss mutation it is ????
fern moss
What plant is that? 🌱
He already said it, Hear carefuly
How the animal live without oxygen?
can someone help and tell me where can i find springtails in nature?
you can find them in moist areas like under piles of wet leaves or under rocks after it’s rained and the soil is still filled with moisture
In first soil used
Your video so educating 😀😀😀
They all are🥚
Can it survive 48 degree temperature with 25 30% air humidity??
Do you need the bugs?
not at all!
Its very helpful but that basically a aquarium with only plankton and plants
it's basically a terrarium
So there is no hole in the lid to get air from out side
no- with proper planting, they are self sustaining and handle their own oxygen etc cycle
Do I need to water it
depending on how you put it together, no. you can set them up to be fully self sustaining ecosystems
Michael Caine makes terrariums now?
I don't have any springtail because i cannot find them😅
petco and petsmart sells them by the meal worms for the reptiles
homemade small plastic crab?
Where do I find insects
for spring tails, either in petco/petsmart or under piles of wet leaves and moist environment
❤❤❤
the Fittonia used in this is called “Mini Red Vein”
They don't need oxygen?
Don't water if you dont see the dirt completely dry.
nope, the plants provide it
Trying to get interesting stuff on my fyp
Can anyone explain me why did he add bugs in it?
They help keep the ecosystem clean to prevent growth of mould ect.
I don’t have a mister😢
amazon as well as cvs/walgreens/dollar store/rite aid have mini travel spray bottles that work just as well
Dang desert I can't get moss
Edit: 🏜THIS EMOJI EXISTS?!
Me: oh cool I have a jar!
*substrafe needed*

Very 👍👍
CAN you make the best terrarium in the world
Moss
This is way to small
respectfully it’s not, you can make smaller ones that are fully self sustaining and the spring tails will thrive
