- Here's my take on "Available Light", one of my favorite Rush songs. I had some trouble with this one, after getting a nasty blister on my left hand! Not perfect and of course, since they never played this one on tour, it's really my own interpretation. To take with a grain of salt! Oh well. Enjoy!

song, and reflecting on the three parts above ...
and really marveling at the beauty of how Neil
purposely DID NOT do the same thing three times!

Those are not wing nuts, they are the Aquarian spring cymbals. They are made to absorb the shocks of the sticks. Since I started to use them 4 - 5 years ago, I have not broken one single cymbal! I used to go through them quite a lot in the past....

Thanks. I use my wrists a lot, don't worry, but to play Rush you need to generate *lots* of power. Neil might be the loudest drummer out there so to duplicate his stuff, you need to hit hard. I do that in combining both wrists and forearms motion. When I play other stuff, I usually calm down a bit. ;)
Nope, not anymore. Too busy at work and it's very very difficult to find rock musicians and places to play roxk music on the Big Island of Hawaii. I played in tons of bands before but these days, it's only to bother the neighbours. ;)

I disagree. I think the the beginning is right on.Suggestion viewers. Look away and just listen, don't watch the video. It comes across painfully slow...Astrotama, as well as the neighbors, do you bother the family, or roommates, if there are any lol
