    I was 50 when I decided to try a de safety razor and it was you that ended up teaching me how to use it. Thank You for making these videos. It was also because of you that I found out about Proraso. I'll probably never use anything else, it's a pure joy shaving with that soap. Thanks again.

    I now know why I enjoy watching your channel so much. I obviously have the same tastes in shaving as you do. I started out with exactly the same products apart from a rose gold handle on my razor. And your lathering technique has worked well for me even while travelling to towns where the water effects the soaps differently. Thanks for all your efforts in your videos💈💈

      @@AnotherCutAbove So I finally got to shave using your tips and following your information and video today. Made one slight modification, I bowl lathered just a bit so I had some for at the end (and more so, to see if I could actually do it). To be perfectly honest, what transpired was life changing for my shaves. I had the single greatest shave I have ever had, and I've been shaving for almost 20 yrs. The lather was so rich and soothing, the razor glided effortlessly access my face and head. Using your tips and things to watch for made the world of difference. Much like you, in Law enforcement and hated shaving, did it because have to keep the professional look, switched to DE and was working on it, but still not understanding what all the hub bub was about. Well, today I got it. I understand. The first time I've been able to actually get BBS for both my face and head. It's true, my wife compared it to my toddlers butt. So Thank you again!

    • @AnotherCutAbove

      Synthetic knots are very cheap to purchase, AP shave co and Turn N Shave do some of my favourite synthetic knots. But with regards to handles it’s all down the preference and price willing to pay. Turn N Shave is one of the best in the business but there aren’t really any bad artisans in the traditional wet shaving space. Only different styles etc.

    Do you save you Had,with Proraso too?

      I have done in the past, proraso is a great product but not as good as most of the other products in my den. Head shaving needs heaps of slickness and I don't get that so much from proraso! I'll do a shave with it soon and see how it goes!

    They're on my lifetime boycott list for an awful ad campaign in the past.

      Same here, it seems corporate globalist interests over-shadow what should have been Gillette's commitment to MEN and maleness!

      I agree (although I'm testing king c.gillette de blades at the 'mo) a good alternative I think is the Wilkinson sword DE blades, really easy to use I think.

    I just started shaving this way and I've been using the same proraso products. No matter how wet the soap is or how thick the lather, the soap always dries up before I can finish. It dries up so much it comes off my face in flakes that float around as it falls off my face while shaving. And I still end up cutting myself on my chin and neck. Any idea why?

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never really has those sorts of issues with proraso. Do you shave in a bathroom where there is any like drafts blowing through that could dry the lather? I know when I have my ducted air con on it causes all sorts of issues with my lather drying out!

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may just need some more water too, it can take quite alot proraso. Then again it could also possibly be your water. I know it's a pain but just to rule it out maybe try distilled or filtered water to see if that makes a difference.

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won't hide behind the fact either that proraso isn't the best soap available. There are many many soaps that are far superior and yield better lathers that stay wetter for longer for sure!

      @@AnotherCutAbove no air drafts and I keep adding water and relathering and it dries so fast lol. I never thought about the water being the possible cause. I wonder if it's the menthol or some other ingredient reacting with my skin and causing a drying effect. What soaps do you recommend that are better?
