    This is awesome, I had this for my PC building and the light is perfect for it. I like it very much.
    I tried using Nitecore HC60, the low is way too low and the next level is way too high.
    The color for Olight H1R is much better for PC building as compared to HC60.

    • @mrmazlan
      @mrmazlan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not forgetting, the band for H1R without the center band is much more convenient as the H1R is super light weight. HC60 color is more warm as compared to H1R, so for me, when I building a PC, H1R is perfect.
      It's all comes down to what you use for.

    Hey Ben great video. Love my H1 (non-R). Can you put a regular CR123 or CR123R in the H1R? Not sure if that was clear.

    Hi

    Thanks.

    how many times can the rcr123a battery be recharged? also, is it advisable to drain litium ion batteires completely before recharging them or is it okay to keep recahrging them as frequently as possible?

    Hey Ben, I watched one of your reviews on the Nitecore HC30 (great review) and for the money and the amount of lumens, which would you prefer? I would think the Nitecore due to its lower price point, higher lumen count and longer run time. What are your thoughts?

    I personally recommend the Nitecore HC30.
    All same features except magnetic charging.
    But it has a bigger 18650 battery with max output of 1000 lumens for 1 hour.

    • @JediG16
      @JediG16 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I saw Ben's review on the HC30 and was impressed. I'm not a fan of a light that claims 600 lumens BUT FOR ONLY 3 mins..lol. Which means you're paying more for a light that's max is really the high setting. But I just wanted to know if I was missing anything. You are right, the magnetic charging is nice but with the longer run time, the HC30 won't need to be charged as quick. And as I stated, for the price point, I am leaning towards the higher run times and lumen count. I just wanted an honest answer based on tech facts and not bias opinion...thanks :)

    • @The408Represent
      @The408Represent 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably because of the small and light feature, olight likes to use the 16430 battery or the RCR123A.
      Im not sure because of the battery or due to the heat issue, they dont really last long on high settings (500~600lm).
      Nitecore, however, just a little bigger and little bulkier, you get more runtime and more lumens.
      For a little night walking, the olight H1/H1R will be great guide light.
      But for working on something in pitch black, searching for something, or even in a situation where you cant use your both hands but in need of a bright long runtime light, Nitecore is for you.

    • @JediG16
      @JediG16 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you're right. The HC30 is basically the same price as this Olight but due to it having a much higher lumen count and run time, I'm gonna go out and get that one. I have the Nitecore MH20 and it is fantastic. I really like that brand and I am glad you helped me figure out the answers to my situation. Thanks :)

      No Problem! Im rocking the Nitecore P12 and it is an awesome light.
      They werent really famous couple years ago, but I like how everyone starts to look into them.
      Great to have a nitecore buddy :)
      Good luck!

    Wowtac A2S. 1050 lumen, 3.6V rechargeable battery, aluminum construction, headlamp, 90 degree flashlight, 5 settings, comes with usb cord to charge the battery it comes with.
    $40 or less.

    Beautiful light, just a lil overpriced IMO. Can't decide between this or the skilhunt h03 at 1000 lumens with 18650... :\
    Nice job as always !

    • @MrPatagonicus
      @MrPatagonicus 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luis Rodriguez I have the Skilhunt H03. I like the longer run time per lumen with an 18650, but if I was really trying to slim down the grams, having a light like this Olight would be great. I guess it all comes down to what your use for it would be.

    I can run 1050 lumens for 2 hours with my wowtac a2s. 30-40 bucks.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an 18650 light. Your comparing apple to oranges.

    • @DobermansRock
      @DobermansRock 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Closer to oranges to oranges. This lamp is a jip for the money.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DobermansRock - A couple of points, a 16340 battery is only about 700mah. An 18650 can be around 3500mah. So that's 5 times the power just in battery alone. So if you need long run times and can use a bigger, heavier light, then by all means do so. I would. Olight has their H2R which is 18650.
      If on the other hand, you need something smaller and lighter and want an 16340 light even though you know it's run times are much shorter, then that's what you'll buy.
      Going back to prices, Olight in general has Ferrari prices, while Wowtac has Corvette prices. Does that mean Ferrari is overpriced? Maybe, but people still buy them for some reason. It's all personal preference.
      As far as the A2S doing 1050 lumen for 2 hours, that's BS. It would overheat within a few minutes. It has to stepdown in power and then it will continue on at this lower level.
      I'm not trying to diss ya, I'm just trying to explain things logically.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keep in mind I'm not an Olight fan. I don't own any and I don't like their high prices. I've been looking all over for a budget priced, angle head, short light (16340 or 18350) and have found nothing that matches my needs. This H1R ticks all the boxes. I hate to spend $70 bucks on it, but I may have to. I'll keep looking a bit longer before I break down and get this H1R.

    • @DobermansRock
      @DobermansRock 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can sing the technical song all day long. Find another head lamp that can do exactly what the A2S can for the same price. Or less, then get back to me.
      I don't care what battery they use. Don't care what lamp. Its a size, weight, ergonomics and price per horsepower event. Durability plays in as well.
      So when mine finally bite the bullet. I am sure there will be a ready replacement. Till then get the millage you feel is right for your money.
      Operator level don't give a shit about the battery. Does it charge? Does it work? Its just another piece of gear in my ruck.

    Another option: Throw it in your pocket w/o the headband but wth the clip. Then if you have a Breakdown at night and have to walk down the road to get help, just clip it to your pants pocket, turn it on then start strolling (FACING Traffic, of course!). That might keep some Idiot from running into you while they're Texting their Girlfriend while doing 80! Hope this helps.

    Been waiting to get a replacement clip from Olight for almost two years now. Kinda disappointed in their attention to customer satisfaction, or lack of for that matter. Going gear played a great role in getting us in communication, but even then, FAIL... SAD

      @Kantar53 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Easy E that's weird. I have an olight s10r baton II that had some issues. They sent me tail caps, new charger and even swapped the light after those didn't work no questions asked. Their customer service has been awesome. I emailed them directly from their site.

    • @EricFabianLozano
      @EricFabianLozano 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kantar53 I emailed them directly from their site, no response. Then I took it to Instagram, no response. Then going gear got me in touch with their head of social media because Olight USA worked out of the going gear store and they finally responded and apologized. They were going to send me a replacement clip for one of my flashlights and to this day, i'm still waiting. I have all the emails and DM's. Everyones situation/experience will be different.
