I have been looking for awhile to find a video that explains how to blend and burnish prismacolor pencils. I also have been trying to find out how to blend colors in wildly different color ranges, such as green and orange. This video was really helpful. And even though it seems long it is worth it because of the great explanation! Thank you so much.
I was in the middle of working on re-swatching my Prismacolors because the chart I got on Pinterest was either outdated or wrong so another colortuber sent me a chart a couple months ago... So finally working on that in my Jade Summer Color Charts book. The plus side is getting familiar with each color & # of the 150 set... Time consuming but glad you are talking about and using my favorite colored pencil💜🦋
Worksheets would be great practice! Those worksheets with your way of teaching would be so informative and helpful in learning even more about techniques. Would be a awesome workshops! Thank you!
I finally got the full set. I cant get deliveries where i live so it was difficult. Would the polychromos work good with them? I need a way to prolong my pencils as i cant just go get them anytime i want and i find the prismas go quick lol. Thanks.
Jennifer Stay (Coloring Bliss) just had a video on this past Wednesday featuring Prismacolor combos, and how to blend them. It’s always fun to watch the different techniques and color blends. ❤️
By the time beginners, like myself get a set of prismas and practice practice we will need another box of pencils. I bought the 150 prismas not knowing how to coloring in this way. I'm regretting it cause I only need the 72 pencils. I'm not going to use half these colors. But hey I'm thankful I was able to afford these fantastic pencils
What paper did you use in this video I am Haig alot of difficulty finding the right paper. This is very important for me because I print off ALL my coloring pages instead of purchasing coloring books. So not only done red a good paper, I need one that will go through a printer
It would definitely depend on the paper and how much pressure you’re using when you burnish. Usually it’s the last step. Sometimes I like to add the color back in though but can only do that on a very toothy paper.
All you have to do is to look at your swatch sheet and find the color you need. That's why swatch sheets are organized by color family. It wouldn't make as much sense to organize by color number. I honestly don't know why they even assign numbers to the colors; no one really uses the numbers.
BEST blending video ever. Thanks for taking the time do this. This is perfect for beginners
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Thank you for putting together! I’ve learned so much

You’re lucky to have them. You will use them in the future I’m sure. Check out some of my videos on how to use all those fabulous greys. ♥️

I've always thought after you burnished you can't add anymore color. Would it depend on the paper ?
It would definitely depend on the paper and how much pressure you’re using when you burnish. Usually it’s the last step. Sometimes I like to add the color back in though but can only do that on a very toothy paper.
Salmon pink looks more orange-yellow than it does pink and thats why it is sooo important to include the color/number of pencil.

I’m new and I have inexpensive pencils. `& I guess I can choose the same colors and try to blend.
You can practice blending with any pencils you have. Have fun with it!
