It seems there was a confusion with the dates. The OG title is not set in 1176, that's the year Altaïr's father, Umar, died. The first game is actually set in 1191 CE.👍

Oh, no. Umar is Altaïr's father. Abbas' father was called Ahmad Sofian. His name is not mentioned in Revelations but rather in The Secret Crusade. The game reveals Ahmad's fate, so I won't say more to avoid spoilers. Just in case.👍

Ubisoft can't even get their own facts straight. Origins begins in 49 BCE but Bayek and Aya don't actually form the Brotherhood until towards the end of the game in 46 BCE. And AC1 takes place in 1191 not 1176.
what i really don't understand is why they made Odyssey AFTER origins but its 400 years prior. It really confused me why Odyssey had basically 0 of the main antagonists/mentions of the Brotherhood until I realised that it was 400 years before Origins.
I can't wait for the spin off series in the disco era called "A Sassy Man's Creed" voiced by John Travolta.

I’m halfway between being HYPED and remembering that many AC games launch with big problems. Hopefully Ubi nail this launch and we can all have a great time- it’s looking like a great title.

872CE- 861CE= 11 years. I'm surprised that Basim is 29 years old in Valhalla. I gave him around 37 years, and at the end of the game after that time jump of 5 years he was 42 years old.
I’m thinking they mean 11 or 12 years from his initiation into the hidden ones. At the Ubisoft forward event when first announcing Mirage they say the story starts around 20 years before Valhalla and that Basim is around 17 years old. So if he trained for nearly a decade with Roshan, it would place him at roughly 27 or 28 when going back to Baghdad as an initiate (where the story really kicks off). So I think you are right in your initial impression of him being 37 in Valhalla.

My impression that Basim is 37 years old was when they said that the game was set 20 years before Valhalla but it was changed now. Since it is now located in 861CE and Basim is 17 years old, I mean the game already starts with that age. Since for the events of Valhalla Basim is 28 years old and not 37. Now if he spent a decade training in the Alamut fortress then he would return to Baghdad in 871, although I doubt he will spend a decade training. I believe he will spend at least 5 or 6 years and they are already sending him to Baghdad to do missions to reach the rank of master assassin since he starts as a novice.

Im still a bit bummed about the combat, when they said they're going back to the roots of traditional ac games i expected them to bring back the insanely badass choreographed combat, not the hack n slash they've implemented since origins

@@EZMoneySniper1039the only hack n slash style game was Syndicate. I love that since Origins the combat got a bit more difficult. AC2-4 was too easy.
And you always had to hack the enemies several times before they die. Its different in that it doesnt have the fluid animations anymore and the combat systsm got more difficult.
Ac1 was also difficult but with the older system ( but also rewarding if you master some small aspects )

Ubisoft needs to upgrade game engine before next game or for red should use new version of engine because since origins to mirage as i see only few upgrades like colour change, water quality and buildings quality improved, if you looks other physics unity and syndicate had better graphics than these games even mirage has no improvement after all (trees quality, hair quality facial expressions) because it's the same engine, snowdrop engine is the best engine of ubisoft i think that's why they even use it for upcoming games like Far Cry 7 (always used Dunia Engine) Ubisoft actually did not improved cry/dunia engine that much

honestly if the game's at least as good as origins, the best of the rpg games, then i'm pretty happy. i enjoyed origins even though it wasn't like the older games. i just wish we'd get another brotherhood game, post altair, in a more modern time with advanced cities, like boston or paris for example, with modern brick buildings and modern civilians. it'd be great if they used one of the unused ac games that we got to see in unity, i think the jazz age junkies game would work really well, like the mafia games but you play as an assassin.
You know, I understand why they all involve big things with the templar's and whatnot.
Though it would be nice to have an assassin's creed that wasn't so grandiose in scale.
Just a guy building up and focusing on helping out an area so freedom can flourish.
Hints of bigger things but that's all background stuff to what he's doing.

so well explained. this clearly shows there's no room for oddessey in the AC original timeline. thats outright the shittiest game i've ever played, thats coming from a die hard AC fan. i love AC with all my life, be it old school ones, or the new rpg ones. but to me, oddessey was just a graphically beautiful game with shitty plotholes and the worst story connections of them all.
