Its crazy how much hate the Kagama 4 got on the previous video all because people thought it was slow on 4s!! It scares me how few know that a *simple gearing change* (for around $5) can help obtain more speed! The stock motor mount will allow you to use a 15t or 17t. 15t I think will be what takes the Kagama 4 up to 40mph which for a 4s basher is perfect speeds. But what about old faithful the Rival MT10? Still a better option over the Kagama? Its only slightly cheaper these days and IMO not as well built! Then we have the ARRMA 3s line up which again are primarily made out of plastic which is fine but I still think the Kagama offers better build quality! Controversial but what do you think? See you on the next one!
Wait until the granite 223 comes out, you're gonna be begged to do a comparison between the 3. I also feel like using speed to compare the 2 is a bit unfair, and I really wish people will just put the 15T and move on 😅 or at least realise there is a major kv difference between the 2 because again.....4s vs 3s primary trucks
Yep 👍. And even a combo of that’s not enough 😂. Usually stock is plenty imo . I did the max 6g2 1650kv combo and it’s not much more speed but torque . The real benefit for me was the motor running cooler in summer . That matters when it’s 90 or above 85 imo . I always noticed the days in July when it would be so hot a person would sweat no matter what . I learned to take a pass on the hot hot days 👍
Should make a comparison with PDRacing TR/TK 10 next. It's the same car Redcat rebranded to become it's Valkyrie which people in the US are so hyped about.
I’ll tell you right now that if you would’ve paid for the katana with your own money you would not be happy with it… it’s just as overpriced as traxxas.

@ do love the mt10. It’s a beast, cranky and tough. Haven’t done as much driving with the kagama yet but absolutely love the look and build quality, its stance, weight it’s a weapon too
Team corally really is solid. Thank you for this great comparison. I understood from Team Corally that this is exactly the reason they created the Kagama 4 to have a 4s rc car in this price range and scale. And thank you mr. BeyondRC it's like you heard me yesterday about Team Corally being snowed under on you tube. They belong for sure in the tier that arrma and traxxes are BUT CHEAPER and maybe even better. I got a Kagama xp 6s and it's a tank and fast out of the box. Greetings again from Hajé from Holland ❤
I think people were disappointed because the 6S Kagama is speed demon backflip monster out of the box. I understand it a 6S, but people wanted the same thing and the thrill on the 4S Kagama. The 6S is a stunt buggy in my opinion the 4S is way more tame. I love my 6S Kagama
I agree this is great for handling and small stunts but they really could do with doing an all out 4s stunt truck to compete with the competition. Arrma will soon be releasing their new 3s Granite and Big Rock as well
I really like my mt10 had it for 3 years now but it's not all roses with these trucks. The ESC you can't program and the brakes are way too sharp for when you're in the air and can't be adjusted even though it's a hobby wing ESC and also you break one part you have to buy a bag of like five parts at a higher price just to get the one you want. So sometimes breaking something that would only cost £20 can cost you $50 cuz you're having to buy all the other parts you don't want with it. I think I have like three sets of front bumpers that I don't even use because I keep breaking the same part corrally looks great and would like to have one to test out myself 👍🏻
you can adjust the brakes there is a workaround , if you look on utubes, can set it vvia the calibration.I think it was on Razor rc page or flipside rc.Just google rival mt 10 brake adjustment.
Nice Video ... While i don´t like the Idea of comparing a 3s MT vs an 4s Car in different sizes also i still like an honest opinion. Still both are in two different classes imho. Anyways have a good one and keep in up 🤜🤛
@@beyondRC Yeah, i get your point, but for example, here in germany there´s a price-difference of over 100 bucks between these two which is quite a difference. And for the money of the Kagama here most people would look at the 4s Arrma-Line which is priced exactly the same. But both are awesome trucks ... but, in my personal opinion not really comparable. Don´t get me wrong, no hard feelings here, i like and enjoy your videos but i think this one misses the point a bit.
@Lod3runn3r what's the price difference between all three in Germany then, I'm always interested to know what prices are like between different countries?
@Luke-en2tk hi Luke, the MT10 goes for about 330€ here, the Kagama 4s for 460€ and the Arrmas (Mojave, Kraton, Outcast) 4s between 410 and 470€ depending on which one
Finally retiring the vorteks ! I'm on the fence on both of them...The deciding factor is the steering slop..I cant stand a lot of slop. What is your opinion on the one with the tighter steering? Diggin the Kagama but thinking the MT10 would be more nimble for the way I play. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Oh yea I don't do many big jumps.
I got lucky with a sale thanks to Drones & Dogs RC giving the heads up on the Arrma Granite sale. I know the brushed version is slow and quick to overheat, so I have a Spektrum 85A and 3300kv combo coming as well. It should be a solid basher. I hear the Granite is a tank 🦾
It does come with the exhausts. Differences inbetween V1 and V2 are Body & ESC. At least my MT10 came with sideskirts and exhausts, not preassebmled to the car but as an extra package within the box.
I always like your perspective on things. The MT10 looks interesting to me. I have a BLX. It is an absolute rocket right out of the box. Is it just gearing that is the cause of these lower speeds? I’m sure both of these handle much better than the Granite.
I do wonder why the Kagama4 wasn’t geared up a bit by default. I hear going from 13 to 15 tooth solves any speed concerns and makes flipping not an issue.
Its a heavy truck maybe to prevent heating up the motor if people run it off road? I wouldn't run it on 17t pinion off road that's for sure. 15t i think will be the sweet spot. I have both and will be doing a follow up vid soon!
People are saying the kagama is slow because these days everything is so ridiculously fast out the box as for the mt witch i have also this is the only rc out of the 50 I have that has not broke yet
I agree! But what annoys me is people judging the truck on its top speed alone. Even out the box on 4s its 37mph top speed isnt too bad. So many are comparing it to the lighter 3s 1/10 cars with higher kv motors. This is a heavy tank of a truck. A 15t pinion is all it needs to wake it up slightly!
Still not sure which I'd prefer tbh, but maybe the MT10. I think it would be better for my purposes due to being lighter. I'm looking for an rc car that can handle grass without issue that I can play with the dog with. He gets so excited about all things rc so I want to train him to have one specific rc car that he's allowed to chase and not others in hopes that will calm him down when I'm crawling or playing with my grom typhon. I'm in the US if that changes things in regards to price and parts availability.

I’ve spent some money on my mt10 all new max10 G2 esc and motor combo and just about every upgrade you can do to it. I will say tho the upgraded metal body shocks for the mt10 are great but I’ve ended up using the stock plastic top caps cause the metal ones are crap and leak. Running a 14tooth pinion and the esc punch level 8 and 20 degrees of turbo timing and the thing is pretty mental now for a 3s
The MT10 is still a king for many reasons but its nice to see alternative options hitting the market like this kagama for people who want just a little bit more build quality etc.
Unfortunately Traxxas and Arrma "real" (shots at silly Traxxas numbers) speed numbers posted prominently on their boxes set the standard. Sure, my Vorteks can do 50 mph out of the box, but it's very rarely ever running at those speeds. Speed is relative to the space you have to play in. Huge space allows for more speed. Small space allows only short bursts.
of course and also who needs 50mph for off road running? No one. Most people will not run the high speed gearing off road as it heats up the electronics. If people are so obsessed with speed why buy a monster truck in the first place just get an on road car lol!
The MJX 10208 is 180 euro incl 21% tax on Aliexpress with discounts. Without 220 euro. That's still nearly HALF of these 330 and 360gbp trucks. Doesn't that make it a winner? I mean, 47mph on stock pinion, V2 has 12 new parts, 100A ESC, 4S, big motor, lights, etc. It's a good package.
It’s certainly a good option and I love the mjx but it does lack in quality in certain areas like all Chinese “off brand” rc cars. The build quality on the kagama and mt10 is far superior compared to 10208 and again you mention speed just like many others and yet like I mentioned in the video there is more to consider than just speed
Not available in the UK and Europe i believe. Have heard great things about the brand but if there is no availability its impossible for me to comment.
@@beyondRC The PD Racing 4s brushless trucks are the same platform as the Redcat Valkyrie, just with different body & wheels/tyres. Available in the UK for £319, for 57mph box stock on 4s.

Don't get me wrong bud about my previous comment on your last video. I like the big effort that TC is making for their rigs. I like kagama but it's all about comparison and be competitive in the rc market. That's all my opinion though. Keep making nice videos!!! Cheers!!
You said it was too slow for 4s out the box :) All it needs is a slightly bigger pinion gear (a £5 upgrade which i now have btw) and it will be in the 40+ Mph speeds. That said 37mph on a 4kg truck built like a tank is fine IMO. Just because its not as quick as some of the other much smaller/lighter 3s cars out there you cant disregard it totally. Its way better built compared to MT10, Vorteks 223s etc.
I think you've always been upfront about your reviews. If you don't like it, ok keep it going... if you do cool. Performance it's up there. But it's still ugly 😅.
look its a 4s truck that can't backflip from what I see in other videos. it's like the opposite than it's bigger brother. the 6S kagama is a beast. the 4S kagama is so anemic and I say that seeing only videos of it. Too bad, it seems that if they put 4S electronics as strong as the spktrum stuff or traxxas stuff this car would rock. not sure why they went so anemic in power. It's a real issue. its not just about moving fast thoufh its an issue on its own. its about power and performance compared to its bigger brother. for example you can barely say there is a difference in performance of 6S and 4S outcast and notorious. the kagama on the other hand....
Erm electronics are best in class, and Traxxas comes last in that area. It's all about the weight it's easy to make something nimble, be a stunt machine and go fast, not so when the weight increases
@@Luke-en2tk the performance of a 4S truck like MAXX or outcast 4S which are short whhelbase like the kagams 4S are so much more that its very dissapointing. Why would I want a heavy truck? I'd like performance + durability and heavy does not fit in that.

Hahaha
Too heavy, too slow.
I give up..
look its a 4s truck that can't backflip from what I see in other videos. it's like the opposite than it's bigger brother. the 6S kagama is a beast. the 4S kagama is so anemic and I say that seeing only videos of it.
Associated's bodyshell is a deal breaker.
Looks so cheap like a chinese cheap car :/
I'm sure they will complain about something on this vidio as well, just how they are,lol they act like you built the damn truck lol
true haha!!
Arrma Vorteks 223s hits 50mph out of the box. Clipless, Centre diff. Think its better value than the MT10 now.
Quite possibly!
For the record i opted against reviewing the Vorteks 223s or any of their new lineup as im getting bored of the same platform. I really want to see something totally new from ARRMA. Although a comparison between the new vorteks and mt10 would certainly be something interesting!
@beyondRC True like they need to bring out a rally car lol
@beyondRC I have the new 223s Senton and was blown away by how much better it felt to drive than my SC10 Pro 4. Got the Vorteks on the way now.
@@chrisvda7277 exactly. Just something different instead of recycling the same platform over and over
I think the corally is ugly looking and slow. The MT10 is under powered, it also has too much plastic in the drive train.
