I can't thank you enough for these great videos. I just finished my paver sidewalk with your tips and techniques it turned out absolutely beautiful. Thank you!
Awesome video! I love watching your content. Do you think you could do a video on the front end of the process? I.e. figuring out the footprint of the patio (if it's not close to the house and can't be set off of that) and design considerations? Thank you sir! Keep doing beautiful work!
I install south of Boston. Use to be a Techo loyalist. But doing more and more Unilock now, some of their pre sealed stuff is really nice. Been pushing sealer more, IMO it is a major help to poly sand longevity and paver color. Very easy and quick to lay down with a battery sprayer.
Beautiful!!!!! Please let me know if you’re going to be in Philadelphia, and want to film! Please, please, please, make my house your next site! Love your work, and may God bless you and your business abundantly!!!!
I have the same concern, I had a contractor cement edge my paver patio, and they didn't at all do ot the way the Christian Hardscaper does it, so smooth and professional.... my contractor mixed in the ¾ stone with the concrete and it looks terrible, plus, I cannot get my artifical turf flush to the patio edge... wondering how to fix this issue? Cut it away and redo it or build steps (it's raised above grade on two edges of the patio)... HELP! #ChristianHardscaper #thechristianhardscaper
I just finished up a diy patio at home. I used techniseal poly but the one in buckets from HD/Lowes and the quality isnt great, didnt fill certain joints due to having some bigger pieces in the sand. What is recommended to remove the poly sand to prep to install better quality poly sand?
I live in northern Ohio where we can get a lot of snow and freezing temperatures over the winter. I’m ready to poly sand my patio and wanted to get it done before the winter . Is there much risk involved with waiting till next spring with water and ice forming in the cracks and worrying with damaging all your work? I’ve already done my concrete edge restraint.
I Did a large patio this summer for a coworker and had sticker shock at the $500 cost of poly sand. Wouldn’t install pavers without a quality poly sand though! Years ago I installed old clay pavers to match existing pattern which has 1/2” joints and I tried to sweep in some very fine sand then tamp it before sweeping in poly sand but the sand barely settled. Tried to wet it down to help it settle but ended up having to vacuum out the joints. Customer was on a tight budget but I learned to not put my name on a project unless I could do the job right.
I feel you, poly sand can be pricey, but I definitely agree it’s worth the money for a quality result! It is always touchy using polymeric sand with those clay pavers, such big joints.... But I hear you, some people have a limit with cost. But warranties don't have to be given on situations like that for sure. Thanks for the comments ✌
I made some mistakes when poly-sanding our paver patio and now I have some really bad stains, how do we get the stains off? Praying ot can be removed somehow... do you have any suggestions on how to do this? #ChristianHardscaper #thechristianhardscaper
I'm just installing pavers next week here in the Pacific Norhtwest (central Oregon) Sounds as though it will be too late to install the poly sand this year. My concern is, here we don't have HPB so we have to use washed concrete sand. Without the open grade base will the sand wash away over the winter? Also, what about freezing water in between the joints; will that cause heaving and displacement from the contractions? Thanks in advance. Benny should get the T. stamp.
Also would like to know what you did in the fall for the winter without the poly sand to set the pavers temporarily. We are looking at finishing this job in the spring since it’s too cold now to poly.
That's a tough one, I like them all for different reasons... Honestly, I like doing different styles because I like a lot of different styles. LOL But the wavy joint lines of the ones in this video is something I really like. I just wish they were the same size as the bigger (Blu 60) pavers
Hardscaping is awesome. I'm trying to choose between this and something like plumbing or hvac as a career; but there's nothing like building physical structures to make you feel like a man.
I feel that, there's nothing quite like building something that's gonna last... I absolutely love this work and hope to be in it as long as possible! ✌
- The main pavers we used on this project are manufactured by (Genest) and are called (Grand Katahdin) with a color tone of (Granite). - The outer border pavers are also manufactured by (Genest) and are called (Katahdin) with a color tone of (Granite). - The inner border pavers are manufactured by (Nicolock) and are called (Old Vienna) with a color tone of (Raven). - The fire pit we used is manufactured by (Techo-Bloc) and is called (Valencia) with a color tone of (Shale Grey).
After seeing you use that plate compactor on the disc golf paver pad, I went and bought one. It worked great for about 2 hours of use.....and stopped and hasnt worked since. Really disappointed. But Evolution sent me a full refund. And let me keep the compactor. Havent had time to get it to my small engine mechanic but hoping its fixable. If it is, I will have a free compactor! lol
Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. I knew that it wasn't a top of the line product but is good for the price. I personally haven't had an issue with mine yet and I used it quite a few times this year. Hopefully it is something simple and you do get a nice free tool! LOL And that is really nice to hear they refunded you completely, shows good customer service. ✌
@ outstanding customer service. Gave me a free circular saw and blades too. Apparently they are discontinued, the gas compactors. Told me they are only going offer the battery one. Offered to send me a new gas one or refund me. I just took the refund. I got if for my business for the same reason you use it, for polysand.
I actually just dealt with that recently... I cut the tubes just below the bottom of paver height and removed the pavers in a perfect square around the tube. Then I poured the tube and poured the empty square in between the pavers to be connected to the tube. Then I floated it flat to the top of the pavers for the supports of a new set of lumber steps to come down onto the patio. Worked pretty good actually. ✌
I can't thank you enough for these great videos. I just finished my paver sidewalk with your tips and techniques it turned out absolutely beautiful. Thank you!
My pleasure for sure! Glad to hear my videos helped with your project, congratulations! ✌
Very beautiful job, as always. You can tell you put a lot of effort into your work. If you were in my town, I would hire you in a heartbeat.
Such a huge improvement to the space! Nice work as always!
It sure was brother, thank you! How’s the back healing up?

Thank you to you and Benny. I plan to use this knowledge next summer.
Our pleasure, good luck when the time comes! ✌🏻

Awesome looking patio. What kind of broom to you use to spread the polymeric sand?

Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoy the work and videos! That would be a bit of a journey for me but hey, maybe someday...LOL God Bless you too! ✌
Nice video bud! Love this patio. This is such a great video for someone new to the trade.
Thanks man! That’s exactly what I was going for… the more people know how to do this the better ✌
Very nice work
Thank you ✌
Is it over kill to cement border pavers down & also cement the edges like you do ?

Ever hear of gator dust? Is it any good? Does it last?

I see you used a bunch of different pavers this season. Which ones were your favorite in your opinion

Fun fact: the little white pea sized (sometimes larger) balls in the poly sand are an anti caking agent.
No kidding, never knew that... 🤷♂️
Hey brother, how would you finish up to or on top of 4 foot deep sono tube's with pavers
