Join Fy Nyth on social media - mewe.com/i/fynyth ! If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for "My Nest") in general, welcome! I'm Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

Well now, that's a strange looking horse! Glad he figured out how to get out of there without human intervention.

The same berries are grown here in Nova Scotia, Canada. We call them haskap berries and they are wonderful. Great for almost any purpose, baking, jams, ice cream, even wine and cider. Great videos! Enjoy the berries.

I was just wondering if they were the same as Haskap. We are in Wyoming and planted two haskap berry bushes last year.

With the bloom covering the berry you could make fruit yeast water to use in baking bread.

More great ideas from you, Ariel. I've been following you for about nine years now, and once again I'm taking notes. Eric and I are moving to our 10 acres in Idaho on the 15th to live off grid in our 5th wheel while we build our little home. It's been 10 years planning and preparing. First thing we want to do is start planting trees and shrubs. Like you, we have no trees on our property. So thank you, Ariel. I even got Eric on board with a composting toilet! 🎉😊

Great video of little Bullwinkle ! I totally agree with you on the honey berries/haskaps being easier to grow than blueberries, I have 7 of them (varieties that will cross pollinate) that are producing berries right now. They survived a week of -20 F cold last winter here in the mountains of Idaho. The black currants and gooseberries are also doing great ! Raspberries are just beginning to blossom, the yellow (Anne variety) were the star of the show last fall and are looking good right now !

We call them Hascamp berries in northern Saskatchewan Canada. I have a hybrid, male and female plant. I find them a lil more squishy in texture than a blueberry & pretty lemony in flavour. Fabulous when frozen!!

Would love to see a plan of the homestead , even if Arial & Clay draw it out on paper and discuss why they decided to place structures where they did, how they positioned the orchard, garden etc - I’m sure there was thought on the best place to put each thing and think I would learn a lot
I can see buildings as the berries were picked but I’m thinking ‘is that the workshop? Or the tiny house?’
Love that all the buildings match - it makes the place look very organized and cohesive but it does make it challenging to know where things are situated in relation to one another
