I'm saddened to hear that there are kids at your daughter's school that said her lunch was yucky. these microaggressions last a lifetime. your daughter should be proud of her heritage and the delicious food her mom makes for her.

Love this video. New subscriber here. I was searching for bento box lunch ideas for my daughter. I usually make Onigiri stuffed with sriracha Mayo but you gave me so many more ideas. You also touched on the mom shame that comes with doing things for your kids a certain way and trying to make things perfect for them. You Made my heart happy, and I too am letting go of feeling so bad when I try things out new ideas for my kids, and they don’t come out as planned. Great content. You are an inspiration! I certainly have to try onigiri rolls with spam. I watched a video of a mom from Japan preparing bento for husband.
I've tried the rice balls for the first time a while back and unfortunately me the concept reminded me of a sandwich without bread and with rice...ugh..Thats what I get for idolizing a lot of my fav anime >< So I'd like to try it again but this time with the filler being spam.
I love Japanese and Korean food as well as Thai a lot so I hope to come to positive terms in loving onigiri hahaha!

I use bigger bento boxes from Walmart. Not the school section. Go over to the fridge and freezer container sections, and grab bigger boxes.

Fruits and mixture of veggie sticks for snack, main is usually dumplings, sandwiches , pasta, noodles etc.
Those sound super healthy! Dumplings are a good one too
You can use sunflower rather than Peanut butter

Nice, sad that kids said yuck on one of the meals. I sent this type of sushi meal and the kids in the classroom were jealous😂 I guess the demographics at the school were not into the Asian type food where your kids go. Very nice bento boxes for kids. Schools here aren’t allowed to send in peanut meals, nut free zone only
