Wait, is the girl that hosts this channel part gypsy? I wouldn't have thought so. Or is she just interested in Rroma/gypsy topics? But yes, it's correct, rom is a modified form of dom, which was a name used by a lower caste of northern India that later started traveling outside the subcontinent.
Anyway, I wouldn't define Romanians as "Romans + Slavs", they're mostly an ancient native Balkan population of Dacians/Thracians that was Romanized and later had some Slavs and other people assimilate. Slavs didn't exist in the region when the Romans arrived; they only migrated down from further north in the 5th-6th centuries.

Gipsyes and north indians have romanian ancestry, thats why they speak indoeuropean languages.
Getae ( dacians and now a days romanians) migrated east and into India and Iran.
Queen Tomyris of the massagetae killed Cirus the Great, the founder of the First Persian Empire and adter that, the persians and north indians learned european language of the Getae.
Sanscrit is the getae language and its quite like romanian.
Gipsyes are europeans that got to India and came back, the massgetae and they have to right to name themselves roma, rrom, etc and to move to europe as their ancestors are europeans and indians.

I apologise for this lunatic. Must be a demented troll or a psychiatry patient No, Romanian is nothing like Sanskrit. Romanian is literally a Latin language. While Romani language (they also have Domani) meaning gypsy is hybrid of Hindu. It is true that getae could have been Jut, or Jat, and Takshak races. But SCYTHIANS could have been that Jats and we know Getae were living with Scythian tribes as neighbours and even intervened to help them. It is speculated that maybe they were same people or anyhow, common origin going back to Jats. Nothing can be proved tho but rest assured that Romanian is a romance aka Latin language and it has nothing to do with sanskrit. Also there is some common vocabulary with Pungabi which is used as evidence to support tge getae-jat theory, but the time of insertion into the language is impossible to be determined, those words could have been adopted into Romanians from gypsies when they reached Balkans in various waves of migration.
