I fell in love with her in 2004 when my friends and I talked to her on a festival in a little town called Hardenberg in Holland when she was in after forever. Now 16 years she is even sexier and beautiful. ♥️♥️ And she still is just one of us. In Holland we have a saying. Doe maar normaal dan doe je gek genoeg. Yes Floor has the sensual fluid moves that accompany her beautiful voice. She is a natural theatrical person where her every movement comes to her at that moment. Nothing is choreographed like these Pop singers. Plus did you notice after the second verse at the end and she calls for the fire with just a twist of her hands.
The song is hommage to Tuomas’s favourite poem by Walt Whitman titled Song of Myself. He composed the lyrics as if Whitman would maybe have written it.

this is the epicness of Nightwish, i am a Nightwish fan for more than 17 years, i found this vibe only with Nightwish, this is the kind of metal that comes from the heavens! and Floor is the metal goddess! The thing about Floor is that she rarely "tries" to be sexy (pop singer hip thrusts, skimpy clothes, etc.) because she doesn't have to. I've noted a couple of instances where she does, and the resultant effort is capable of melting lead.

How about Ghost River, Ever Dream, Nemo after maybe Floor on the Dutch tv show Beste Zangers 2019 she was hardly known in her own country. They are all singers on the show and take it in turns to sing different songs only one them knew of her.

Such a powerful song. Yes the voice is supreme and when the bass player joins in is pure magic. At 4:08 that little breakdown got me some chills for sure. 5:09 is a perfect chorus and I'm certain is otherworldly. Bro, their fans are the most adoring I have ever seen, they sing every verse and they are pouring themselves out as much as the band is. True love for the music right here. You hit the nail right on the head with their fans. Nightwish is an excellent band (no question about it) but their fans bring them up a notch or 2 when you watch concert footage. They are so damn passionate and to me that is appealing all by itself. When you react to them you'll feel some love that you have never felt from a fanbase in the comment section. You don't necessarily need to rank them. It feels a competition and in the end they are just good but different songs. Here I mostly admire Jukka's work with cymbals and crashes. Floor is so amazing always that I kinda take her granted (stupid, I know). There are 3 new singles out now. They all are different. Maybe "Noise" suits best for your taste. "Harvest" is my favorite but..I say no more. "Ad Astra" contains promotional material which can be controversial for some. You must also know that the new album's second disc is almost wholly instrumental. Hope that I didn't reveal too much. Thank you and stay healthy!
"How beautiful is Floor?" Perhaps not conventionally beautiful, but she carries herself gorgeously, is looking *very* well for someone pushing forty, stands a tall and imposing figure and has a strong body - just look at those shoulders and arms, real toned power.

So there is a lot to unpack in the lyrics. And many of them reference common themes/images from Tuomas' other works. I'm not going to outline all of them. The way I understand it, it's an image of Tuomas, the poet, or the "old man" from the Imaginaerum, sitting under a tree reflecting on his life. So, verse 2 really pulls from the rest of the Nightwish catalog: A catnap in the ghost town of my heart \ She dreams of story time [Song: Storytime] and the river ghosts [Song: Ghost River] \Of mermaids [sirens Song: Ghost Love Score and others],\ of Whitman's and the ride [Song: Last Ride of the Day] \ Raving harlequins, gigantic toys [Images from the circus of Imaginaerum]. All of that wonder and dreams and magic, and yet he feels like he's dying inside, putting on a show that he doesn't feel: Now all that great heart lying still \ In silent suffering \ Smiling like a clown until the show has come to an end \ What is left for encore \ Is the same old dead boy's song [Song: Dead Boy's Poem among others. The dead boy is a common figure in Tuomas's lyrics referring to the loss of childhood and innocence] \ Sung in silence. And then my favorite part is this bridge, that I imagine is him backstage feeling uninspired as the instruments are laying around: Resting pipes [Uilleann pipes that Troy plays] , verse of bore [boring lyrics] \ Rusting keys without a door [piano keys, falling into disuse] \ Sometimes the within is piano black [black as the ebony wood of the piano, dark, but also with creative potential] \ Piano black over cleansing waters [an "ocean within", also a common theme in Tuomas's work, like in the Poet and the Pendulum, a whole album called Oceanborn]. After all that, I'll be the first to say I'm no expert on what he's trying to convey. I've not done a lot of research or watched a ton of interviews or anything. I just listen to a lot of Nightwish. And Tuomas is also a big reader, so many of his songs have literary ties, some I pick up on, some I don't until someone tells me. Some are classics like Walden by Thoreau or the Pit and the Pendulum by Poe. Others are more modern, like the 2 I know of that reference Stephen King's the Dark Tower series. And a whole album based on the works of Richard Dawkins, the scientist (Endless Forms Most Beautiful). The title of this song is definitely an allusion to Whitman, but I'm not familiar enough with his poem to draw parallels from that.
Adding to this -- This is from the album Imaginaerum, with Anette singing, so after Tarja was fired but before Floor joined. This song is about Tuomas's music searching for a place to be sung after the loss of Tarja.
Before you move to the new Nightwish you gotta hit the other 2 of the "big 3" which would be poet and the pendulum at Wembley, and then the greatest show on earth at Tampere.but look into the background of the poet and the pendulum before you listen.enjoy!
I'm going to say that this song is better than the first song (Ghost Love Score) I seen you react to by them. It might hurt a few feelings but this one is that good. The breakdown after the bridge is what a heavy metal fan lusts for. Awesome job!
This is one of my favorite songs. I just love the switch ups and the heavy beats....and of course Floor being ...well ..Floor. Their new album drops in a few days and I can’t wait. It’s a shame they are not very well known here in the states. This band deserve a ton of recognition. But with reaction channels like yours...hopefully the word can spread about amazing bands like this one.
Doing this TH-cam thing has opened up my eyes to a good amount of talent that I never knew existed. You're right, Nightwish is not popular in the U.S. but that might be because of their location and that they don't come to the states all that often. We need to get our people to think that there's more good stuff out there besides hip-hop, pop, and country music. That's what's hot in the U.S.... rock and heavy metal are somewhat of an afterthought. Not saying that it's dead but it's really low on the "trending" list. Pretty sweet song, always like her voice and style. The band is very tight. Never been a huge fan of this style of metal but I see and hear why people dig them a lot. Has a bit of that gothic feel to it as well. Very black metal and no I'm not referring to Living Color lol. This band is one of a kind. I'm not a fan of singers growling and barking through a whole damn song! And I'm very happy they don't. Floor and Marko will do all that Tuvian throat-singing stuff but not very much. I found Nightwish in 2006 when I opened the Wacken 2013 concert, Been fan of NW ever since and was shocked and saddened when I watched Tarja's teary presser the next day. And Tuomas didn't call Floor until late 2012 just after Anette left the band due to a lingering illness(I think). So she did their Seattle concert then off to South America then back to Europe in summer for Wacken(pronounced Vahken in Europe. We say Wackin which sounds nasty lol). After Wacken all the guys said they wanted Floor as a permanent member and she earned it!
I have to agree what growing and such can get to be a little too much. I do like it but I also like when a singer can actually sing. I think this is why I enjoy Slipknot... hard and heavy, but then he can actually sing. I'm still very green to Nightwish (since I've only heard 6 of their songs). I can guarantee more of them as I get back to recording these reaction videos. Thank you for your time... I enjoyed your story!

The lyrics are a mix that takes bits and pieces of their older songs. For a long time fan they are very meaningful, to a person who has heard only a few songs they may be a bit confusing.
It's not so much that they put parts of other songs as it is they refer to other songs (and/or themes they have used in older songs, such as the dead boy).

I love the effort you put into providing the lyrics and the layout with the video below the lyrics and the back drop. It's good and pleasing to the eye. Can't wait for more.
So there is a lot to unpack in the lyrics. And many of them reference common themes/images from Tuomas' other works. I'm not going to outline all of them. The way I understand it, it's an image of Tuomas, the poet, or the "old man" from the Imaginaerum, sitting under a tree reflecting on his life. So, verse 2 really pulls from the rest of the Nightwish catalog: A catnap in the ghost town of my heart \ She dreams of story time [Song: Storytime] and the river ghosts [Song: Ghost River] \Of mermaids [sirens Song: Ghost Love Score and others],\ of Whitman's and the ride [Song: Last Ride of the Day] \ Raving harlequins, gigantic toys [Images from the circus of Imaginaerum]. All of that wonder and dreams and magic, and yet he feels like he's dying inside, putting on a show that he doesn't feel: Now all that great heart lying still \ In silent suffering \ Smiling like a clown until the show has come to an end \ What is left for encore \ Is the same old dead boy's song [Song: Dead Boy's Poem among others. The dead boy is a common figure in Tuomas's lyrics referring to the loss of childhood and innocence] \ Sung in silence. And then my favorite part is this bridge, that I imagine is him backstage feeling uninspired as the instruments are laying around: Resting pipes [Uilleann pipes that Troy plays] , verse of bore [boring lyrics] \ Rusting keys without a door [piano keys, falling into disuse] \ Sometimes the within is piano black [black as the ebony wood of the piano, dark, but also with creative potential] \ Piano black over cleansing waters [an "ocean within", also a common theme in Tuomas's work, like in the Poet and the Pendulum, a whole album called Oceanborn]. After all that, I'll be the first to say I'm no expert on what he's trying to convey. I've not done a lot of research or watched a ton of interviews or anything. I just listen to a lot of Nightwish. And Tuomas is also a big reader, so many of his songs have literary ties, some I pick up on, some I don't until someone tells me. Some are classics like Walden by Thoreau or the Pit and the Pendulum by Poe. Others are more modern, like the 2 I know of that reference Stephen King's the Dark Tower series. And a whole album based on the works of Richard Dawkins, the scientist (Endless Forms Most Beautiful). The title of this song is definitely an allusion to Whitman, but I'm not familiar enough with his poem to draw parallels from that.
Adding to this -- This is from the album Imaginaerum, with Anette singing, so after Tarja was fired but before Floor joined. This song is about Tuomas's music searching for a place to be sung after the loss of Tarja.

This is one of my favorite songs. I just love the switch ups and the heavy beats....and of course Floor being ...well ..Floor. Their new album drops in a few days and I can’t wait. It’s a shame they are not very well known here in the states. This band deserve a ton of recognition. But with reaction channels like yours...hopefully the word can spread about amazing bands like this one.
Doing this TH-cam thing has opened up my eyes to a good amount of talent that I never knew existed. You're right, Nightwish is not popular in the U.S. but that might be because of their location and that they don't come to the states all that often. We need to get our people to think that there's more good stuff out there besides hip-hop, pop, and country music. That's what's hot in the U.S.... rock and heavy metal are somewhat of an afterthought. Not saying that it's dead but it's really low on the "trending" list. Pretty sweet song, always like her voice and style. The band is very tight. Never been a huge fan of this style of metal but I see and hear why people dig them a lot. Has a bit of that gothic feel to it as well. Very black metal and no I'm not referring to Living Color lol. This band is one of a kind. I'm not a fan of singers growling and barking through a whole damn song! And I'm very happy they don't. Floor and Marko will do all that Tuvian throat-singing stuff but not very much.
I found Nightwish in 2006 when I opened the Wacken 2013 concert, Been fan of NW ever since and was shocked and saddened when I watched Tarja's teary presser the next day. And Tuomas didn't call Floor until late 2012 just after Anette left the band due to a lingering illness(I think). So she did their Seattle concert then off to South America then back to Europe in summer for Wacken(pronounced Vahken in Europe. We say Wackin which sounds nasty lol).
After Wacken all the guys said they wanted Floor as a permanent member and she earned it!
I have to agree what growing and such can get to be a little too much. I do like it but I also like when a singer can actually sing. I think this is why I enjoy Slipknot... hard and heavy, but then he can actually sing.
I'm still very green to Nightwish (since I've only heard 6 of their songs). I can guarantee more of them as I get back to recording these reaction videos. Thank you for your time... I enjoyed your story!

The lyrics are a mix that takes bits and pieces of their older songs. For a long time fan they are very meaningful, to a person who has heard only a few songs they may be a bit confusing.
It's not so much that they put parts of other songs as it is they refer to other songs (and/or themes they have used in older songs, such as the dead boy).
This song is like Devil Trigger from DMC 5 i am curious abouy the lyrics so I'll be checking it out
