A very thorough review. One important feature you need is to model them . This is a visual medium and you're missing this important aspect. If you don't want to model them yourself, find someone who will. Theres a kind of underwear called Tucked Trunks and they're supposed to be made to keep your shirt tucked in. I wish one of the style youtubers would review it and see if its bullshit because they are not cheap but the concept sounds great
They're pretty great. The cotton is called "Supima Cotton" or something similar, they're pretty comfortable, though I prefer the Airism line, more comfortable but also more expensive, my only issue with the Supima is that they're low rise briefs, other than that they're really great, and probably cheaper than a lot of underwear options.
Thank you for your video. I appreciated your fabric content, sizing and comfort information. FYI I followed your link to order me undies. As a first time buyer, their return policy was a huge selling point.

My husband works outside and all the heat and humidity have given him a heat rash in his nether areas. He wears the synthetic “sports” boxers and I think that might be part of the problem. I think cotton underwear is better than synthetic because I feel the difference when I wear synthetic vs cotton when it comes to moisture wicking and therefore was looking for some high quality cotton boxer briefs for my husband. I would have liked if op would have given a more through review of the underwear materials/fabrics, how do they perform in different weather, how the quality of the fabric affect your skin health and comfort when adjusting your parts in. I have the Lululemon, Tani, me undies, and ex officio. My favorite brand though has to be Stance at the moment. I'd give them a try if you haven't already. Smartwool has some good merino wool options as well. Not itchy at all and great for winter or summer. Great video!
I tried it when it first came out, so it might have changed since then. But it didn't quite work for my build (not slim enough). I ended up getting the trousers taken in a bit, and those fit well now.
Uniqlo airism boxers briefs. get the right size (as those aisan sizes are smaller by like one size than what youre regular too, like if normally youre a large, get xl) And youll thank me, forever. shame they're so expensive.
Hey Brock! So i see a lot of youtubers recommend micro modal underwear and that leaves me with a couple of questions. Supposedly because of the breathability so it has airflow to cool down your balls reducing sweating and "wicking away" moisture thats there despite of it. Isn't cotton supposed to do the same? how much better is micro modal compared to cotton? Wouldn't that make micro modal the best fabric to make athlethic clothes from? I also hear a lot of fuzz about bamboo (ryon from bamboo) who also claims to have this breathability and moisture removing features along with being antimicrobial? Wouldn't bamboo be a better fibre to make underwear from? since the sweat interacting with bacteria on your skin is what causes sweat to smell. Are you planning on doing any guides on fabric / textiles / spotting quality / getting best value for dollar on your clothing. For every piece of clothing in a man's wardrobe? I want to start upgrading my wardrobe by clothing type at a time, and now i want to upgrade all my boxers to new ones. And i don't really know what to look for
@wodane - man, could i bore you to death with a bunch of fabric info, but i'll try to be as brief as possible. modal & micromodal are forms of viscose (synthetic "silk" made from tree pulp). so, when brands use terms like rayon, viscose, modal, micromodal, rayon from bamboo -- it's really all fundamentally the same thing. that said, there are different qualities of all the above, so you could get a real good pair of micromodal underwear, or a really crappy pair. as far as performance, rayons (all the above) do generally absorb more moisture than cotton, feel cooler on the skin, and can dry quicker. brands also claim that there are antimicrobial (anti odor) characteristics in viscose that carry over from the origin tree, but that's really a bunch of baloney due to all the processing that is need to turn the tree bark into a fiber. that said, these rayon-based fabrics do not hold odor like a polyester counterpart, but cotton doesn't really hold odor either. of course, the above depends on many factors, such as fabric weight, knit, blend, percentage of blend, design & fit of the garment, etc. so, you just can't go buy a pair of modal/micromodal underwear, and be 100% certain it'll be better than another pair. i got a bunch more info like this on my site, but if you have any other specific questions, feel free to post them here and i'll do my best to answer them!
@Tug Samarreta, please do bore me to death with a bunch of fabric info. I switched gym's and now i have to wear a shirt again when i work out. leaving me damp, tired and overheated affecting my performance. Would love to find some clothing that gives me the same feeling as going shirtless, but maybe added benefit of skinprotection (against the rough barbells)
if you're wearing cotton to the gym, and you sweat a lot, you'll get that damp, tired and overheated feeling. for high intense (high sweating) workouts, i generally recommend either: (a) a synthetic light compression base layer, like polyester, with a t-shirt on top (can be any fabric) or (b) a synthetic light compression base layer, like polyester, with a lightweight mesh synthetic sports shirt on top. this will allow both shirts to dry faster. the compression shirt will form to your body, and help pull the sweat off your body, spread it through the shirt, and and dry fast. the outer t-shirt is just a layer to wear over, if you feel a little self-conscious about your body. if you're in great shape, you can wear the light compression shirt by itself. if you've got more questions, let me know!
a long time ago, i wore boxers, then switched to briefs. both lame! however, with modern boxer briefs i still won't buy any that has no fly or cotton. also boxer briefs shorter than a 3" cut are deal breakers. the 6" under armour polyester/elastane original cost $25/pair retail but after 10+ years of wearing and washing, waist band still perfect and no rips. additionally, the pouch has a bit more loose fabric to provide room for your boys and finally, they make the pouch with a mesh material so that it breathes better. never rides up and the seams are not in a place to cause discomfort especially when working out or sweating. they also have very well thought out stitching. finally, the material is super smooth to the point that cat fur will not stick so there's never any lint stuck (this is an issue with cotton). are they overpriced? ya sort of which is why you can usually find deals during the holidays and get some of them at $11/pair when you buy multi-packs.
If the underwear lack the pee hole thing, its an automatic no go for me. I'm to lazy to fuss with pants button and undo belt just to go number one. Just saying. That means most upscale underwear are out for me.
You don’t have to pay high prices for good quality underwear - there is lots of choice when it comes to modal etc. personally I prefer boxerbriefs that have a fly ( the absence of a fly is a deal breaker for me).
Underwear isn't meant to be worn for years at a time. It's recommended we junk our underwear every six to eight months, depending on how often you wear them. If you have a large selection, you can probably get away with a year. I tend to wear brands like 2(X)ist, Calvin Klein, Andrew Christian, MyPakage and Under Armour. And while they're still in great shape a year or so later, I certainly wouldn't be wearing underwear I've had for a few years.
Everyday underwear should be cotton. That's the most comfortable. The nylon stuff is a sports. I buy jockeys for every day because they're very comfortable and fit well and where well. I have spider underwear for sports.
I was looking up the word "prate" ,for someone. Intuition ( mom) told me to check a possible connection to "praetor" from Latin class. Did you know that one of the powers granted to a praetor was, "...inter civies..."? Exofficio ? Boxers or Briefs ,I missed the debate. Basta.
Hello thanks again for an informative and interesting insight on underwear. 2 simple questions. You have talked about durability. How often do you renew your drawers of undies? Some "specialists" say that every 3 to 6 months! I find that excessive. Second question : unlike other wears, undies cannot be seen and are not meant to be seen (even if you have to show your love one before... That does not last long) so what's the point of "sexy" and "beautiful" if I don't see it the entire day and no one sees it either? The comfort and the quality are more important, aren't they?
After seeing this video, Saxx sent over a few other pairs to try, and I have to say - I'm not sold on the pouch underwear. I find it to be less comfortable than regular underwear, especially after a few hours. I did buy a pair of Uniqlo Airism boxer briefs, which are probably the best underwear for the price. Not as premium as Tani, Ribbed Tee, Lululemon, etc., but VERY comfortable.
Now my good sir you know meundies ride up really bad. I’m not the only one on here that has commented about it. I won’t even wear mine anymore because they’re so annoying
I’ll be honest: MeUndies is no longer in my top list. The new Ribbed Tee and anything from Pair of Thieves (especially the mesh) are way better. Will have to make another video soon.
The Modest Man its soo crazy you say that because I literally just two days ago purchased one pair of thieves underwear from target and absolutely love them. Now mind you I’ve only worn them once but they left a good first impression
Who uses the little escape hatch to take a leak anyway. As far as I am concerned . They could just 86 the Hole. I just pull down the underwear with my right index finger
What exactly is Zonopelarge Secrets? How does this thing really work? I notice lots of people keep on talking about this popular erectile dysfunction treatment.
Woooooooooow man, no love for Pair of Thieves at all?? They’re literally the best of all time, they’re made out of a different material than I’ve ever seen in Men’s Wear before, and they look A W E S O M E ! ! ! So for real, if you’re gonna make a list like this but don’t feel compelled to include PoT.... Well then I’m sorry, but you’ve lost all credibility and your “list” is totally cancelled.
PoT did make the list, just not the video - www.themodestman.com/best-boxer-briefs/ They were also mentioned in this video - th-cam.com/video/XnUquotMUfo/w-d-xo.html But they're not as good as some of the other choices. PS, Wow you really like that brand. PPS, Sorry but you can't cancel a video.
The Modest Man 😂😂 ahhhh you definitely caught me only half paying attention. I really, really do though man! Why not put em in the video though? Like did the others just outdo PoT that much? I mean, I honestly just figured the brand was too new, but I was also curious what kinda response I’d even get if I made it as extra as possible 😂 I mostly expected nothin tbh, so thank you for taking the time out of your day to respond to my nonsense lol
@@Koogo66 you're definitely right, they're a solid brand IF you can get the multipack from Target. Full retail price, I'm not sure if they're worth it. I actually made this video before trying them out!
The Modest Man oh yeah, that makes perfect sense. Hope I didn’t rub ya the wrong way or anything though btw bro lol, it was all just for fun.

Would love to find some clothing that gives me the same feeling as going shirtless, but maybe added benefit of skinprotection (against the rough barbells)
undershirtguy.com (:
if you're wearing cotton to the gym, and you sweat a lot, you'll get that damp, tired and overheated feeling.
for high intense (high sweating) workouts, i generally recommend either:
(a) a synthetic light compression base layer, like polyester, with a t-shirt on top (can be any fabric)
or
(b) a synthetic light compression base layer, like polyester, with a lightweight mesh synthetic sports shirt on top. this will allow both shirts to dry faster.
the compression shirt will form to your body, and help pull the sweat off your body, spread it through the shirt, and and dry fast.
the outer t-shirt is just a layer to wear over, if you feel a little self-conscious about your body.
if you're in great shape, you can wear the light compression shirt by itself.
if you've got more questions, let me know!

They don’t hold up like higher end brands, but they sure are comfy for a while!
Who uses the little escape hatch to take a leak anyway. As far as I am concerned . They could just 86 the Hole. I just pull down the underwear with my right index finger
Tommy John does NOT last! Not sure why I keep buying them when weeks later they develop holes...
Ngl it's better without boxers. Once you've tried it you can't go back. From someone who couldn't before imagine life without undergarments lol
Me spending $400 on lulu boxers
you should try CHILL BOYS
I prefer classic briefs.
Most of these brands make trunks and briefs too (same styles and materials).
The Modest Man Ah okay.
BRIEFS!
Eddie Palomares Uh huh.
EarthThatWas briefs make me feel like a man lol
I usually just buy fruit of the looms better quality box briefs
Lulu lemon clothes are awesome but their underwear is not worth the price at all. You have been warned
Hmmm, the underwear looks huge on camera. Are you sure they are small and extra small?
What exactly is Zonopelarge Secrets? How does this thing really work? I notice lots of people keep on talking about this popular erectile dysfunction treatment.
The best underwear is no underwear...go commando!
Lol do you seriously go that way ?
@@hrrrrr2084 When I was younger...sure!
@@idid1866 haha wait why not now? How old are/were you?
@@hrrrrr2084 I'm middle age now...can't deal with the cold, lol!
@@idid1866 lol you trousers are too light then! Seriously you might just get used to it again lol
Did you do that like everyday all the time ?
Tiny silk cut Underwear
Your missing ted baker
Woooooooooow man, no love for Pair of Thieves at all?? They’re literally the best of all time, they’re made out of a different material than I’ve ever seen in Men’s Wear before, and they look A W E S O M E ! ! ! So for real, if you’re gonna make a list like this but don’t feel compelled to include PoT.... Well then I’m sorry, but you’ve lost all credibility and your “list” is totally cancelled.
PoT did make the list, just not the video - www.themodestman.com/best-boxer-briefs/
They were also mentioned in this video - th-cam.com/video/XnUquotMUfo/w-d-xo.html
But they're not as good as some of the other choices.
I just recently discovered em myself too, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to Hanes or Fruit of the Loom 🙄 except maybe like, if that’s the only option I guess haha
The Modest Man but okay, so how does PoT stack up against your original list now? Still mostly just an honorable mention?
🤔
I hate uncomfortable underwear
Survey said , Its all a spending preference Good undies or pure non adulterated CRACKS / Dope
