I think it's common with older tape players that when they chew tapes, that they have dirty rubber rollers, which can be cleaned pretty easily. I use white spirit or methylated spirits and a cotton bud for that, and then a dry cotton bud after to make sure they're clean and dry.

That all in one stereo, with the tape player not working, should be sold for parts as well. I would not go higher that 50 (Buying) knowing it is not working correctly....P.S.
